Just picked one up, I had one for the 14 Pro Max, but the sides were just killing my hand. Looking forward to actually feeling this design in the hands.
Something I haven't seen any reviewer of the Phone Rebel cases point out, is that there's a hard plastic frame all around its bottom inside circumference, which might contribute to its superior drop protection--in other words, the bumper around the case isn't made entirely of rubber. Even the Flex series has this frame. It might be one of the things that makes this partially-minimalist case heavier than a true minimalist. The bottom edge of this plastic frame also goes around the cutouts for the microphone and speaker, and around the rear logo so you can push it out and replace the logo with one of a different color, without bending the bottom of the case's rubber, so this bottom length of the plastic frame might help further protect the bottom edge of the phone from a drop. This frame also goes around the inside of the camera lens opening, for holding in place the four screws for replacing the camera lens ring with different colors, or the kickstand version when they release that.

They need to smoothen out the sides of the case, so that it is smoother and more blended with original sides of the phone. They are two sharp and dig into the hand if you hold it for a while. They need some redesigning to make it smoother and softer in the hands
Yeah I ordered the phone rebel Gen 5 and 20 days later I’m still waiting for it to be delivered. I know it’s coming from USA to me in UK but shipping times shocking when I paid £15 shipping cost aswell
I will say it’s so good this year only one fatal flaw…. The metal camera ring… sat it down and my kid slid it across a glass table top… that may be a problem.

Now, having watched you in this video, saying there is no alignment frame for the included screen protector, I am worried. Can you make a video, or at least give me some tips and guidance here in the comments, on how I should go about applying the screen protector so as not to mess it up? It seems they only include one of them and I can't afford to waste it. Thanks for all your great, honest, and enjoyable reviews.
Yeah I might do a little something like that but doing something scientific with numbers, most people aren’t going to be able to know what the numbers even mean.

@@TechnicallyTee I think what happened with the case only was that the case bent outward to increase contact area with the magnets. Popping the phone in there however added rigidity to the case and hence less contact area, which was insufficient for the case+phone to pick up the MagSafe device.
I am waiting for the phone rebel flex crystal case to be released. I am hoping that one weighs a little bit less though. Hopefully they will be available soon.

I encourage anyone to pick up one of these bases from Nomad, they are phenomenal...... It also makes for a goodiece of self defense, if the case ever arises.
A yooo Tee, what screen protector are you using right now for your iPhone ? On one of your streams you said you switched to ESR, but those black borders are thicker than it should be, so it covers screen a little bit
How does this case feel in the hand with those raised edges in the corners? Are the raised edges in the corners on front/back sharp and do they bother you during regular usage?
You honestly don't notice them at all at least I don't.. I owned the one for the 13 pro max and loved it this one feels even better with the 15 pro max and the more curved edges.. you can't tell where the sides end and the case starts on the sides its so smooth
I just received the case from Amazon. I don’t notice the raised edges in the corners. If they chopped down the corners/top/bottom a little bit, this would be the perfect case, otherwise it is amazing!

Super strange design. It is barely protective and also not so thin, everything exposed🤷🏻♂️ It protects the corners, but violates the boxy design of the device

Just a tip about testing these cases: plug the USB-C in. I've read reviews that Phone Rebel cases don't play well with various plug sizes.

Your scale is off man. Your total weight minus the weight of the case gave me 234 grams. The phone itself is suppose to be 221 grams

Hard pass…no protection. You’d be better off not using a case and showing off 100% of your $ 1,200+ phone, just be careful with it.
Some people don’t need a bunch of protection.
