I just cleaned all the connections with can air , and I tightened up all the connections like you said and the heater kicked on. Everything is working perfectly now. I appreciate your videos.
Connections as in the burners, and pilot? Or did you actually wrench off the gas pipe connections from the gas valve and do those too? Thanks for responding. Mine worked great when I tightened all my connections up, but then after a week it got funny again.
@@HeartHandsMikey all I did was clean and squeeze the blue wires and the wires on the gas valve. Took them off hit it with the compressed air and put them back on all snug. The heater fired up like new turns off and on by itself now.
literally just tapped the same place you tapped @ 1:37 and all my burners kicked on immediately... thank you so so much. We have been freezing our butts off for 2 days.
Thanks. After watching your video I pried down on the safety switch contacts in the upper portion of the heater and waalaa, heater fired right up. It's currently working and hasn't cut off after 30 seconds of heat. Thanks again
I was always tapping the heater very gently and it would come on for a few minutes. I checked all the wires. I took them off and put them back on. Now working pretty good. Fingers crossed. Thanks for the video.
I have the same cozy furnace and I had the same cozy issues. Thank you for your videos because they were very helpful in fixing my cozy furnace problems although mine was not the safety switch mine was a little wire connectors on the blue wires that slide on and off! they weren't on their tight enough! Thanks to you I slept all night without banging on my furnace! 😊
Yeah, was having a problem with the gas not coming on in the unit, yet the pilot light was on. I just tapped the metal part like you did and now the unit is working. Worked great! Thanks for the help and solution.
Great video thank you. So here’s how I fixed mine. The 2 wires leaving the thermostat, through the wall, then popping out of the wall to connect and be screwed down in the bottom of the heater had a bad connection. There is about 12 inches where they come out of the wall and directly where they connect to the heater underneath…they were broken sometime in the past, twisted back together, painted over, etc. So I made sure the pilot was lit, turned the thermostat to 80 deg…and nothing happened…but when I wiggled the 2 thermostat wires, the heater started up (you can hear it). So the fox should be untwisting the weak connections, cleaning each wire with some sandpaper & twisting back together, then taping.
Just want to say it's not a thermal coupler it's a pilot generator I've noticed you said that a few times throughout the video it's a pilot generate another thermocouple but thanks the video was very helpful and insightful
Millivolt systems such as yours need extra heavy gauge wiring. I tippled up my wiring to the thermostat. You can also use 14 gauge Romex as your thermostat wire.
Well, that worked! Just knocked in the right place with the screwdriver handle and it started up. , , , That was after I cleared out the summer spider webs-which might themselves have been a hindrance-maybe some kind of fire prevention block the heater has?
Thank you so much!! The electrician and my landlord practically insinuating I was off my rocker bc it worked when they came 😮 Anyway, your video gave voice to its function (and malfunction) and help with the troubleshooting, and it's working!!
Millivolt systems are powered by a thermopile not a thermocouple. And it good reading is 750 to 800 thermopile is also called a power pile or a generator depending on what part the country you live in. Millivolt systems are best when the connections are soldered. Spade connections get loose over time.
Mine would go on off on off…and so on. I think those sensor wires where red button is are in a hot spot on heater perhaps and makes too hot readings to thermostat.
These furnaces are junk they don't have a filter and they blow dirt smoke and dust all over your house! I bought my house and it already had a cozy wall gravity furnace installed, within the first year I already had the thermal coupler replaced and the technician that came out had to put a heavy duty one in. Whoever would design a furnace with no filter at all! And then they're loud and creaky and the expansion and contraction, I can't even hear my TV, I can't wait to be able to afford to get rid of this thing!
I installed a pilot pro on my cozy heater and i'm having the same problem, pilot comes on then the thermocuple gets red hot but main burnner will not kick on unless i tap on the valve. maybe i'm having the same problem, but the stat only tells the pilot to come on not ihe main gas burner correct?
I believe you are correct. I also found the problem to my issue if you watch all the videos I posted on this. There are steps to take. Mine is fixed and it's fine now.
Anybody know why the blue flame goes on, flickers like it wants to die, like air is coming through. I just installed the gas valve. It starts up good. But the flame is the problem? And the flame went out once.
Not sure what that is but I probably would too! The heart ache of these darn things is only surpassed by the fact that others benefit from the videos and are keeping their families warm.
@Heart Hands Mikey I have one of those new fangled ones like this. It's good when it works, but the Dearborns are the old butane heaters that your grandparents had. I've got 2 of those and they never fail.
If you only read 500 millivolt then you need a new thermopile. Sounds like your thermopile was strong enough to power the stat and the pilot solenoid but not the main valve. To check this you would call for heat at the stat. Be sure the pilot is on. The take a reading across MVPV to MV at the gas valve. The MV or main valve requires the most millivolts.
@@brunoshvac2578 See that all this time, and that is what it may have been. I've torn this damn thing apart about 6 times this winter, and even had to resort to buying a ductless gas fireplace from lowes for $500 just to get through the winter. I've been out of town for about 2 months, but when I get home in a week, I will replace the thermopile and hopefully be done with it!
If this video does not work, look at the very top left or right, there is a red button reset button that you click that was my issue after checking all these problems.
Thank you for your time. I checked my wire and problem solved. You saved me lots of money and my family is nice and warm.

make sure to watch the handful of videos I made on this issue as it could be a number of easy fixes, it just depends.

Got it, thanks!!
Thanks for the video. For me, the "safety wires" at the very top of the heater were loose. It took removing the cover to figure it out.
Biggest piece of crap on the market. They should be fined and jailed.
Omg thank you …. Tightening the safety wire connection on top fixed my heater. This heater has been acting up on and off for the longest time lol .
There you go! Good! Happy its working!
Millivolt systems such as yours need extra heavy gauge wiring. I tippled up my wiring to the thermostat. You can also use 14 gauge Romex as your thermostat wire.
you can also by pass those blue wire to the spade connector. Remove blue wire from spade connector and jump that connection.
Good call!!
Good information, thanks ! Amazing they do not gold plate these critical connectors, it literally costs pennies !
Just did everything you recommended, and it worked. Thank You
Aww good! Of course! Absolutely! Happy you are safe and good now.

Interesting. Perhaps I should solder then!?
Ok, I’m gonna try squeezing those. And get clean wires to connect. Thank you.
Awesome! Did it work!?

I think you might be correct on that. I've though that before as well.
Take cover off on the left side at the top is a red button, it will fire burners instantly.
I didn't see that on mine, but hopefully it helps those that have your model.

Fry this wall heaters units will work a lot better with an battery operated termostac try it and see
I tried battery operated and sadly it didn't work any better for me. Then again, who knows with these damn things.
