Plushenko was fascinating because he was also a great dancer, a Nureyev on the ice and he could skate every style and every charachter. He was very consistent in his jumps, his perfomances were always sooo clean, near perfection. Today skaters are sometimes stunning, but they make too many mistakes and they are as artistic as a frozen pizza, except for Hanyu and Fernandez. Nobody will ever skate like Plushenko, nobody ever again.

My gosh he skates like the music is coming from his soul. This performance was absolutely stunning and the entire time I couldn't take my eyes off him. Would have loved to have been in the audience to see such a marvelous program.
Watching this in the year 2016 where Skating is - more or less- all about quad jumps is really a pleasure... this is/was REAL figure Skating artistry ... those changes in tempo, his attitude ... just amazing and really outstanding and unique.
I imagine Puccini (the composer) would be moved by Plushenko's towering performance as he was when hearing the great Caruso sing this beautiful aria. Artistic figure skating at its finest!

When I first saw this last year, I was very much in love with his "Tosca Fantasy" program, so hearing the original version of "Tosca" here took me out of it. Now I am back after falling in love with his Olympic SP with this same music because of the timing of the jumps with the pauses in the music... simply incredible! that sound of his skate hitting the ice... beyond that, I have no more words. WOW!

For the record, Yagudin has said that Plushenko was his only real rival and that he's the strongest figure skater right now with no one to match him (despite the loss in Van). I'm sure Lyosha means that he's the only one who could match him but still! lol. It's nice to know that Leesh holds Zhenya in such high regard.
