It's not just Wendy's guardian, the whole guardian system is terrible. The guardian is paid a lot of money for "taking care" of the person. It isn't just money, the guardian has power over the person's life. Especially if the person is wealthy.

This woman was so careless with her own finances that she can’t even protect her own son. How can you be that wealthy and not have a plan in place to safeguard your only child? Sure, the bank may have blocked her money, but she should've had another account set up for lil Kevin, for crying out loud! I'm not trying to kick her while she's down, but seriously, how clueless can you be? She saw the signs day in and day out, yet she left all that responsibility to him and others. This is all Wendy's fault; she did it to herself when she had the power and sense to do something about it. It's frustrating beyond belief.

That’s the problem! You can’t fire a guardian. Once you’re under a court-ordered guardianship/ conservatorship- you no longer have rights. They literally have full legal control of all of your finances. You can’t even hire a lawyer to fight the guardianship because you can’t access your funds to pay for one. It’s insane our justice system allows this to happen. It can happen to any of us!
