    Buy a mixer Lad it will save you suffering back pain in the twilight years I've been at it over 40odd yrs & it catches you up in the end

      If you watch further into the video I used a mixer. I just did a few smaller mixes to start but as you said, prob should have got the mix out from the start. Thanks for watching 👍

    Maybe easier with acrylic render

      I should have used sbr in the mix on first coat. Makes a huge difference. Thanks for watching 👍

    When you brought out that barrow I thought "bloody hell he could do with a mixer" - then when you cut to the mixer it was like the 'bone throw' moment from 2001

    Out of curiosity what's the reason for rendering and not dot and dabbig plasterboard/plastering?

      For me it was I wanted to keep the original shape of the chimney breast, but also I have a wood burner and open fire in my downstairs rooms so this will give a long term 'seal' to poor brickwork on the chimney and it also transfers heat out when wood burner or fire is on during the winter.
