I wish they had these foil-boards and wings 40 years ago; I would have been all over this sport. Thanks for letting me live vicariously through your vids.
Thanks for the 'throwback' shot of the windsurfer. I still have a couple of O'Brien poly boards from 1987-88. For a long while, I thought nobody windsurfed anymore. Seeing the wings with no brand name on them makes me think all the hype about big name wings (with prices that continue to get bigger) really doesn't matter. Anybody have any thoughts on that? Great stuff as always JD (even if there wasn't a turtle!).
Fantastic video! I used to windsurf there in the 80's. Is this area west, to left of the traditional windsurf launch area? What time of day and is this beyond the reef?
I made a 1m carbon tube that I have my Insta360 Go2 attached to. It's super light and I hold in with 1 hand while flying the kite with the other hand 🤙🏼
2:14 Pure poetry in motion. But how does he come so close to the surface without breaching the foil. ? Incredible skill and totally at one with the wave and the foil ? Or, just a lot of luck ? (Asking for a friend 😃)
Very cool. I wish I had the balance and coordination to do that. I'll stick to my outrigger canoe, but these videos are fun to watch.

no brand name just means prototype, there is a lot of wing testing going on over here - Windy AF all the time 🤙🏼

This is at the main windsurf spot at the circle (last parking lot) and it's early afternoon mostly between reef and beach. 🤙🏼
I’m keen to learn. Where is the best place for me to learn if I came to Hawaii? I live in NZ
Well, i might be biased but "Maui No Ka Oi" 🤙🏼
But you can't go wrong with any of the beautiful Hawaiian Islands 🤙🏼🤙🏼

Where do you have your camera mounted to get such great shots, so super smooth! Its winter in NZ and busting for that warmer weather now!
