Hey Ben, great video! You have a very easy and clear manner of explaining and without all the technical jargon. Could you please explain why you used the hotspot button instead of drag and drop hotspot method? Also, could you please do a video on backlinks? I can't seem to master them and Kuula themselves only offer a silent video demonstration. Thanks!
Thank you for all of this useful information! I'm definitely looking forward to getting the insta360 x4! I'm currently using the insta360 ace pro for virtual tours
Thanks for the video. You did however miss probably the biggest time saving tip for kuula, you can actually drag from the thumbnail bar onto the current image to automatically place a hotspot to that image and it will even offer to add a backlink in the linked image so that when you go to edit that image the hotspot will just need moving into the correct position. Super duper time saver.
I noticed the same thing! Do you find it better to do it Ben's way or the drag and drop way? Also, when I use backlinks, they seem to appear in other posts in weird positions. The Kuula demo on backlinks is silent so there's no explanation of how to use them. What has been your experience using backlinks?
@@emmafeather74 Drag and drop way is for sure the best. Yes, the backlink won't be in the exact right position you will always need to edit it, they try and get it close but it is hit or miss depending on how you originally orientated your 360 photo (If you take them all pointing in the same direction then it can coordinate them better) but it takes less time to move a link then add and move a link.
The X4 is disappointing because it lacks HDR photo features. Once you dig down through the menu, you find that the number of shots and +/-EV settings are all missing, and there is no option to save HDRs as RAW files. Assume you are using a single-shot photo to save as RAW.
Really like your videos mate. Last 360 camera i go was go pro fusion. What would you say us best 360 camera right now for 360 photos? Best for crisp photos of stuff in distance too
Hey Ben, am I shooting myself in the foot if I want to make virtual tours with the Insta360 OneX? I got it in...I dunno, 2018 maybe 2019. Just wondering if I need to update to a more modern choice since I haven't heard you reference the original OneX in a while. Thanks!
Thank you Ben. Excellent video. One question: which format do you upload in Kuula? The JPEG merged from the JPEG folder, the JPEG merged from the DNG folder of the DNG merged? I ask because seems that Kuula does not support DNG. Correct?
Thanks a lot! :) What about 3D360 Virtual Tours, captured with the Insta360 Pro 2 e.g.? How can I get these on a Vision Pro / Quest 3 in 3D and at the same time in 2D on regular devices?
I'm using Kuula... is the little blue circle with the cross in it for marking the scene that shows when your photo opens? Sometimes it seems that's not what I get. Thanks for the info! As always, very useful!
hi ben, I am still confused about which 360 camera is suitable for making virtual tours, between ricoh z1 and insta360 x4, - ricoh z1: I like to see the photo results but I doubt the work process, because I have never used it - insta 360 x4: previously I used X3 and I was a little disappointed with the photo results (maybe because I was not an expert in processing it) but I am familiar with the work process and I think insta is consistent in developing its software. I need your input
Dear Ben, I' m about to drop virtual tours. I try to color correct 360 photos extracted from Insta 360 studio in Lightroom and I constantly get a vertical line at the stitching point when these photos are imported to Kuula for creating the tour. This line makes the end product unusable for selling to the client. Could you please tell me if there is a solution to this? Thanx in advance!
I was hoping you'd go over the lightroom/color correcting part a little more.. I tried editing in lightroom to denoise and now the insta360 app doesn't recognize it as a 360 photo.
As mentioned this is an ultra simplified workflow without colour correction. I cover colour correction & display issues in my other videos & Virtual Tour Pro course 👍🏻

Another direct, informative video with actual valuable info. Easily one of my favorite YT channels. Thank you!
Glad to hear it!

Interesting features : Thanks for those tutorials !
Thanks so much, i want to know whether it's possible to share a virtual tour on google maps(street view)
Awesome video, thank you! Your channel is my best way to stay on top of what's happening in 360 world ))
Glad you liked it 😀

Thank you for this one! Do you think the X4 is good enough for real estate?
Yes- for basic real estate tours it’s a good choice 👍🏻
Thank you Ben. Excellent video. One question: which format do you upload in Kuula? The JPEG merged from the JPEG folder, the JPEG merged from the DNG folder of the DNG merged? I ask because seems that Kuula does not support DNG. Correct?
Thanks - yep always upload JPGs to virtual tour software as DNG is purely a format for editing.

Z1 is definitely the better choice
Hi Ben, How do I get a 180 degree video on Insta360, if I film with just one lens can I do it?

What virtual tour platform do you use ??
Did you watch the video?

What is your suggestion for making 360 tours with videos now that Veer seems to be no more?
3DVista 👍🏻
@@BenClaremont Thank you!! I’m new to this and figure I can rely on you, who has already done the research. Thanks so much!!
it is a shame that touche retouch desktop version does not have the 360 option as for phones
Yes it definitely does 😀
Between insta x4 or Ricoh Z1 someone offer me both for $550 usd, wich would you take for virtual tours?
Z1 is definitely the better choice if your sole focus is virtual tours 👍🏻
Kuala seems to compress the images too much making the quality of the tour very bad.
