Radon is everywhere, it does not come from nuclear pollution, it comes from the bed rock or the concrete in the building. But both water and bed rock radon can be fixed via filters and cleaning of water. How much radon do the concrete houses in Germany have?
Hi, thanks! I know its not an artificial pollution except for the "blue" concret that was used for construction way back! I am going to pin your comment so everyone knows :) According to my research, we are below 20 becquerel per M^3 :)
@@friedi.off-grid I have blue concrete in my basement. The levels of radon is well within the limits anyway. The period of time measured was over 6 months and everything was fine.
Congratulations man, it’s so exciting buying your first house, I’ve been following your journey and look forward to seeing the house and your progress. I’m watching from Australia …
Congratulations, it's must feel amazing knowing that you have found your place, and what a beautiful landscape. It's also good that you answer all the questions that you have, and you'll be able to make well informed decisions moving forward. I hope that you celebrate your decision, so happy to see you succeed with finding that special place.❤
I did ask all the important questions however there was one detail conceiled from me. And I stumpled upon it the next day. It wil be in the next video!
Well Friedi, first off glad to see you post again. Been thinking about you, and your search. I was going to say Congrats, but as your comments say that may be a bit early yet............... Just do your Due Diligence and I'm sure you'll keep us updated as things progress from here. Seeing as this is your favorite......... I will wish you the best of luck though. Hoping things work out in the end. Time will tell............ 😊

@@friedi.off-grid Oh yeah, it's a process for sure. Took me over a year when I last was looking to buy. But the end result was well worth the time invested.
Graywater!! Out in the ditch!! And the toilett, in my cabin i have a Separett Tiny , it separete the "1" from the "2" and the 2 ends up in bioplastic bags, dig them down in the foorest and its gone in a year!! Radon?? If possible, Ventilation!!
Radon is every where it comes from the bedrock, you just purchase a radon sensor looks just like a smoke detector and place under floor boards, in basement orgasm such recommended. In the USA it's something one takes care of their own self and go on living a day to date life as one desires, look forward to next vlog
I was beginning to wonder if you were coming back! I'm glad you're at a point where you can make choices and hopefully start moving forward. Since your are looking to purchase this as a vacation home, how many hours drive will it be from your home? My fingers are crossed Friedi!🤞Best wishes from Teri in Michigan🙏💞
As for your waste issues in a previous video check into "incinerating toilets". These could be powered by solar and wind. You would save money by not having to install a blackwater system. I think you will till need a gray water system. But I guess you gave up on the "off grid" house, so maybe this comment is mute. Anyhow, I'm enjoying your series very much and wish you all the best!
@@friedi.off-grid Electric ones can be run off solar. Yes,they need enough energy to run the heating element. Also, more and more I'm seeing small vertical wind turbines to add your electric supply. Anyhow, I think the house you bought doesn't need these. Maybe in the future you'd add solar/wind power. It is kind of costly, but so is the installing a full septic system. Maybe the costs are about the same, but you can use the electricity elewhere running the houses when not incinerating the human waste. All the best on your new home!
There is no such thing as a deduction for money exchange. If you purchase from a foreign account there is no exchange anyway. If you are obliged to open up an account, there shouldn´t be a fee either as you simple send money to that accound and it would be a 1:1 translation in terms of value depending on what the euro or dollar or whatever is worth. I don´t know enough about that process tho :/
Welcome to Sweden. I just found your channel and kinda binge watched most of your episodes from ep.1 What happened? Did you actually buy it? The gas radon is a problem for your house if you have a basement or a house without a ventilated ground. Radon is "easily" ventilated... and if you are buying a cottage they usually have a ventilated ground so the radon shouldnt be that of an issue. Radon is prominent in sweden as our bedrock that give of radon.

Thanks mate. It is not in vain! Incinerating toilets consume large amounts of energy. Usually people will run them on gas as far as I know.

Germany. Its a nuclear pollutant that has been shown to cause cancer in people with long exposure.
