I have come to realize that it’s about the Lord Jesus Christ and us. He is Lord, He is the center and the focus. But by His design He includes us. Jesus never says “It’s not about you.” Quite the opposite the Bible shows us how much Jesus made it about all us together with and in Him. All who accept Jesus Christ and are baptized in His name and in His Spirit are members of the Body of Christ; members of the Church. As the Body is one & has many members so also is Christ (I Corinthians 12:12). If it’s about Jesus, and it definitely is, then it’s about His Body members also; we are a part of “it”. He is the Head, and He gives us the privilege of being His Body. The Lord tells us that we’ll be judged on how we treat others and that He takes it personally that if we don’t recognize & minister to one of the least of His brethren then we don’t actually minister to Him. (Matthew 25:40&45). The Lord also tells us that we’ll be known as His disciples if we have love to one another (John 13:35). Neither the Lord nor His disciples are ever caught in the scriptures telling others “it’s not about you” because the great truth of the Gospel is that Jesus did all that He did for you. He did all that He did for me. The Lord wants to save each of us and use each us in His Kingdom and glory. We lose our lives for His sake and the Gospels so that we can find our lives in Him. It’s all about the Lord Jesus, and He made it about you and me also. May God bless you, thank you for taking the time to read my post and perspective.

Pastor Merritt is such a good preacher, his sermons are life-changing, the one thing that is sad, that he can wear dungarees and, sneakers and shirttails hanging out. The shirt he is wearing is the kind that needs to be tucked in. He is preaching a wonderful message clothed so awful and sloppy. I am sorry, in the old days, pastors went into the pulpit as they took the place of Jesus Christ preaching to the flock and they would wear their Sunday best, some pastors wore a black robes with a white shirt and tie. Years ago, Pastor Andy Stanley wore a black robe even. The pulpit was the most important place in the church and pastors and church goers dressed accordingly. Now, parishioners dress better than the pastor. Dungarees, work cloths?? I figured Pastor Merritt would want to be dressed according to his wonderful messages.

@@justjimmy5741 Dungarees and sneakers on the pulpit of a large church?? Come on friend, he is the pastor who is "Dr" Merritt. And how do you know what is on the inside of Dr. Merritt? Paul was a tent maker and Luke was a physician. They were itinerant preachers who had regular jobs. What happened during the transfiguration?

@@justjimmy5741 Would the good pastor dress different if the President of the USA asked him to come and talk to him and have dinner with his family? What do you think?

@@justjimmy5741 It is not just the pastor's cloths, it is what is happening to the Christian Church, better known as progressive Christianity. It is the liberalization of the church. The bible said that this would happen. I am 77 and have attended various Christian denominations for a long time and I have seen it's downfall. One of the first things I look for, is the pastor and how he is dressed. God is the King of Kings and the pastor stands before Him and therefore presents himself as best as he can. Do you have any idea why Christian pastors have gotten into dressing "down" on Sundays, instead of dressing up? Not just a choice, they do it for a reason.

Your heart is open to Jesus Christ. If you know Jesus was sent to do God's by dying for man kinds sins. The Father raised Him from the grave. Believing this much and stop doing what separates us from God (sin) you are on your way home.
