@@DragonDrop4758 Glad you liked it! I used the default skins on all weapons. If you meant that you wanna know which exact weapons I used, you can give me timestamps and I'll give you the weapon names. There are many weapons that belong to every weapon type. I just chose clean looking ones for the showcase.
The first Wukong combo in the video is exactly that! I just didn't finish that combo, for better pacing of the video. It's so high energy with the music that any slowdowns felt off.
When I get a new weapon I often go to captura just to see its animations in slow mo becouse DE puts some genuienly good effort into these. I've actually wondered if some of the smoother and more reasonably doable combos use mocap from martial arts pros since some of the idle animations are mocapped.
One favorite of mine is the old Swirling Tiger pause combo (from back when pause combos were still a thing). It's a right-hand stab into a left-hand slash diagonally down, into the whirling flourish attack (now the first input of the neutral combo), into bringing both blades around to the left with one loop overhead for a total of four hits (now the last input of the forward block combo), and then snapping them back over to the other side, into zooming forwards with a spin slash that ends with a slam aoe from presumably the wind catching up to that defiance of physics (the last input in the current forwards combo but with the abrupt velocity of a typical forward block combo). The amount of hits on that was ridiculous for something so accessible and I also love it for the fact that it's a very fun series of motions that you can pretty easily replicate irl, aside from the physics defying spin slash at the end, of course.
Imagine if we could customize stances with which combos we want. like there are so many stances that i like a couple combos on but not the rest of the stance, or just a lot of stances that are bad outside a single combo, imagine being able to combine them.
Kind of a shame really that not many people will see this when they're running melee macros and modded for melee attack speed. I love shit like this, there are really nice animations in this game.
there are two animations i love that sadly weren't in this: the two handed nikana when you do the twirl in the air always feels great and i can't recall the stance but heavy blade i think its cleaving whirlwind when you two the 3 or 4 fast ground chops to the ground
I had to be real picky at what made it in so the video felt satisfying to watch. I cut some of my own favourite animations and also missed a few accidentally. That said, I've already made 4 other melee animation showcases for Warframe. One showcases every combo in 15 minutes, the rest is a 3-part series that show off every animation at normal speed as well as in slow-motion.
Great stuff 😊 I love at a time when some games are pushing engines and developers for the sake of realism, DE's guiding principle remains "is it cool?" Because yeah, it's pretty cool to skateboard on your giant buzzsaw weapon 😎
when playing the game paying attention to the stats/status effects of these stances and not really paying attention to the animation all that much its nice to see them have so much detail. sometimes i really forget how much detail the game has even though i have so much time played
Ok so I actually looked info it, and apparently that definition of glaive was first used in the 1983 film “Krull” and has been used in films and games since. Neat.
I wish they either gave frames or the weapons more unique idle animations. Like, everybody holding a heavy blade the same way is kinda weird, especially when you know mother fuckers like Atlus, Grendel, or even Chroma probably should be able to single hand that over their shoulders or at their sides like it was a one handed sword
That's a great idea. Yeah, Warframe has the most idle animations I've ever seen in any game but, for some reason, all melee idles are the same for each frame. They could do exactly what you suggested, for starters. Heavier frames wielding heavy weapons with ease.
Nikana blind justice animations are just great. But i just saw the cleaving something stance just today in duviri and that one also dissent lose to blind Justice but its wonky in terms of gameplay
Effing game, always teasing me to come back. Fun fact 1: If you slow down enough the speed of the melee attacks using a riven or slowing the fps after procesing the video you CAN actually see the hahads and fingers doing the correct movements! Fun fact 2: Almost no one notices these details since everyone is on crackframe amping up the speed attacks on melees 🤣 PD: Dude, HOW YOU DARE to left out Valkyr and his talons?!
@@thatonepenguinperson618 it still does. just the 3 slashes comes first before the twirl. It's also a good combo for focusing something cause first hit is guaranteed stagger. Do forwardblock attack to spin and slam onto their head if you land it on them it lifts them, and so you can freely neutral combo on them for the 3 slashes ending in the twirling move and usually they'll fall to the ground and you can ground execute them straight after. (or use heavy attack to send them off into the distance with a guaranteed slash proc). The walking combo in of itself is relatively lackluster but quick and you're almost better off just air comboing so you can ackwardly float it rather than stopping for a bit at the end.
@@DarkmegaGaming I know it does, I just meant I remember that specific order. It was great and felt smooth to start with the twirl into the three cuts. Starting with the three heavy cuts is just too slow and ending with the fast twirl just feels wrong with this weapon type compared to what it used to be.
Wow, these look amazing, it's been a while i don't play warframe (around 3 years now) and i dont remember most of these animations, did they added a lot of new ones while i was out, or are these some secret combos i never seen before?
I really liked the animations when i was a new player, but then it reached a point where the attack speed was just too fast to even pay atention to it, and if i reverted the weapon would lose dps and would almost feel slugish.
I tried to make a Finisher Build with my Ghoulsaw... (make it the closest equivalent to the one in the DOOM reboots) but were unsuccessful. In fast, it's one of few Melee weapons that I find to be underwhelming.
They just need to figure out some way to keep the DPS and match it with the animations they spend so much time on. They could add a Tennokai mod that turns attack speed into (roughly) equivalent raw damage as well as a crit multiplier
Every attack in these combos has a separate damage multiplier (100%, 300%, etc.), and some have guaranteed procs. It's listed in the 'melee combos' screen if you hover over the name of the combo.
@@Ultraclocked yeah but usually people run primed fury or volt/wisp buff, the animations get kinda lost in the flurry of nonsense that we end up seeing.
I'm coming back to warframe after years of not playing it, can someone remind whether these melee animations can be applied to any melee weapon? or does each weapon have their own designated weapon swing by default that cannot be changed?
Ok yeah, that gap closer combo should have been included. Dunno how I missed it. You can check it out in my 'All Melee 3.0 Combos' video. I even show them off in slo-mo.
These animations have clearly been made with passion, but some of them are so freaking absurd 😧 in some of these animations you slide across the floor like you're ice skating before actually attacking! It looks cool sure, but it takes away from the experience for me; it's just so absurd.

@@Ultraclocked Thank you, but can tell wich weapons those are. :)
I meant the colors you used on those weapons.
@@DragonDrop4758 Mostly default colours. I just might have changed the accent colour here or there :)

I like the detail at 1:11 when the warframe gets dizzy beacuse of spinning the blade non-stop
Yep, such a cool detail! There are 5 spins in the combo. I only included the last 3 to better fit the high-energy pace of the video.
@@Ultraclocked very insightful!
You can counter it by doing a slide attack after the second to last spin, so basically you can spin forever
Also happens with the Scindo
In my opinion, the smoothest animations are for the Sun & Moon. Makes me feel like I'm playing as Malenia from Elden Ring.
Great video!
Thanks so much!

The Ghoulsaw one was the raddest shit i've seen this makes me wanna craft it
This makes me feel like if warframe was a melee only game then we would actually be using the entire moveset.
One think i have go give DE is, they know how to make melee weapons look cool and flashy
Valkyr's Hysteria animations are also fantastic, if not extremely fast.
Yeah, they're too fast, even with Spoiled Strike (a mod that reduces attack speed). That's why I didn't include those in this video.
WAIT WAIT! what mod makes you use the dragger with your foot? Thats like some Metal gear Raiden shit right there and I'm all for it! :D
Every stance mod is listed on the bottom right of the video. It's 'Stinging Thorn' for the combo animation you mentioned.
Why is the thing at 0:44 called a glaive? Seems a lot more like a mambele, or just a big throwing star.
