I’m not claiming to know better, because I’m just guessing like everyone, but it makes more sense for me if the initials on the lighter are his, “Yoongi” and hers ,”mystery name that starts with K.” Like how you would carve your initials with the initials of your significant other onto a tree or something.
In a lot of merch/content at that time, Yoongi's name was officially spelled/romanized as "Min Yunki" (see BTS World - the mobile game for example) so it's commonly accepted as his initials. :) Though they did use Yoongi and Yunki interchangeably.

But in Korean they also have this letter ㅋ that makes the hard K sound, which is why the letter ㄱ is usually translated into English as a G, to differentiate between the two although technically they can both make a K sound.

Jin's time travel is iconic, you can see how tired he is because he repeats the trip over and over again trying to save everyone, the book that the girl dropped is a diary, and he begins to fulfill everything that she wants or asks for a boyfriend but in the end like his epiphany song, he starts to lose himself trying to be something else.

The BU can really be confusing because it's not only in their music videos or video reels (highlight and prologue). The whole story can be deciphered through different materials, aside from the MVs, like the Notes (book), their concert VCRs, even a game (BTS World). 😂😂 Like the comment before, I recommend watching the video by xceleste where she summarized everything about the BU so far. When you mentioned the Interstellar original score, I went "YES!" because that is such a beautiful score and I listen to it so often (Interstellar is my comfort movie too because, you know, Christopher Nolan) and the ambient sound in this highlight reel in a way resembles some of the tracks from there. A fun fact, Yoongi loves Hans Zimmer and he talks about how he finds inspiration in his scores. Also, I love your commentaries, hollered at the part where you equate the hand motion to shooing away a peasant.
Ohmyy .. While watching this it feels like I'm watching it for the first time again .. the confusion I've felt while watching even though I already know What that means. It seems like while I watch this over and over again there are so many questions that I want answers . HAHA
Jin is the only one who has the power to change the future. Each time he changes one persons, another person gets hurt so he fees helpless, that’s why he looks so confused & defeated. Jimin bumped into the girl with Hobie so even though he loves her, Hobie is the one carrying her to the hospital. Hobie remembers when he was abandoned as a child & left with only a candy bar (thus the fake love scene).
the girl performing in the hospital is the same girl who took away Suga's lighter and wrote (Y.K.) when he was about to smoke a cigarette. Suga's name in the BU is Yoongi (though it can be written as Yoonki or abbreviated to Y.K.). Jungkook and Yoongi were very close in the BU and their stories are interconnected. So when Jungkook heared the girl play a song, he somehow thought of Suga. (thats why he had flashbacks). LY is basically a continuation of the BU. LY Answer (the last album in the LY trilogy) also concludes the BU arch.

Its ok to feel confused :) they have done very little confirming/explanations about the story line and dropped hints in all kinds of media, mvs, videos, concert intermission videos, notes in albums(turned into books), webtoon and more. So dont feel bad if you dont understand it its like a massive puzzle and to make it even more confused there are some cross over occurrences with TxTs fictional storyline. When you catched up with what Dreamteam has in store or they say its ok to watch with out spoilers you can check out XCelestes videos she does a good job consolidating what we know.
Remember that this first album of the trilogy is love yourself :HER. Which on my opinion is referencing each of their respective hers in the video. Also keep in mind that the next album is love yourself: TEAR.

Y.K. means YunKi. We spell Suga's name as Yoongi but when Yoongi spells his name in English, he always says and spells it as "Yunki". That's why Jungkook recognized that lighter or got reminded of Suga when a girl was playing Suga's song at the hospital

As I am sure you’ve already been told xCeleste does have a video summarizing the BU but she adds a lot of her own theories into the video so keep that in mind! A lot of the info she puts in there are from things not in the videos, such as the notes that come in the albums and the webcomic. A lot of people take what she says in that video (including her theories) as truth for everything about the BU without reading the additional material. Please if you watch it just keep this in mind. I want to see what theory you come up with without outside influence.

I think if I remember correctly I watched this video like 10x, trying to figure out what the hell was happening. I was way more confused than Jim is now. Once I rewatched the intro for wings, then this, then I figured out it was all connected and some crazy time traveling shit was happening! It blew my freaking mind!! About that hand thing you mentioned. The girl was calling Jimin over. In Korea this is a common gesture when you are asking someone to come to you. The western gesture we usually use is considered rude in Korean. So we go hand up and they go hand down. Also if you look closer at ''baby hope'' scene, there is chocolate on the carousel left by his mom. That's where the Snickers bar comes from in Jhope's scenes from wings ;p

I’m not It sure if anyone addressed the girl’s wave that you were confused about, but that is just the Korean way of calling someone over to you! Its like how we wave our hand with our palm up when we tell someone to “come here” but they do it with the palm facing down :) The American way of doing it is a way to pick a fight with someone in Korea..so you move it downward instead of upward..if that makes sense lol I think I learned this from Talk to Me in Korean at some point in my Korean language studies
7eleven and shop mart stores have an eating area where you can cook your ramen and eat it there. When I was in Japan it was great to eat at 7eleven because they also had wifi and the food was inexpensive. By the way it is not the same girl. The " hand thing" is an Asian mannerism for come here. Keep in mine when interpreting to look at it outside our western culture concepts.
There are a lot of explanations and interpretations depending if you want to take a strictly BU direction or if you want a bigger picture in terms of what this era meant for them and ARMYs, but to put it in simple words: as you know from watching the rise of bangtan the boys are becoming HUGE and starting to get some real hate, death threats, false accusations of plagiarism and sexism, racism and xenophobia from the the western markets, not to mention the common condescending attitude towards them as idols (people cannot accept that they are going way beyond the idol label and successfully producing and exploring highly intellectual concepts such as they did in WINGS) so they are being bombarded with hate but they are also young men trying to learn how to love themselves and others. The beginning of the Love Yourself trilogy is about them attempting to love others but failing because they haven't learned how to love themselves yet. You can see that they start love stories with the girls, but they all end up bad. This is just the first part of the trilogy, there will be much more to the story while they learn to accept and love themselves and help us on the same path to do so. Then there's the strictly BU explanation but that's way more complicated and full of spoilers atm.
Yes, it is a time travel story underneath it all. If you haven't figured it out yet, Jin is a hapless time traveler, trying to redo the regrets of the past, but cannot, no matter how many times he tries. He does not use a time machine. Instead, there is an extraterrestrial being, or perhaps a better word is extratemporal being, in all this mess that seems to be his guide. I won't say what. The xCeleste youtube channel has some videos trying to put all the puzzle pieces of the BTU/BU Bangtan Universe together. You will have to find them, I haven't seen them in over a year. No one outside of BigHit/Hybe's story writers really knows what's going on. If you are to try to put this together yourself, you cannot just use the videos alone. There are also webtoons & other media that have more info & detail. Also, there is really no closure to the BU yet afaik, it is still open-ended, which means Hybe/BTS can still continue it. We believe the last video of the BU is Film Out, iirc. BTS is also creating another universe called 7 Fates Chakho which seems to be a separate story, but could in effect still be tied to the original BU, who knows. It's all fictional right? Which means it can be tied together if they them wanted to. Again, as some comments have already suggested, check xCeleste's channel. You should do a reaction on Celeste's explanation video.

Jhope is lying on a bed of snickers and the room he is trapped in has elements from a carnival including broken carousal parts. You'll also see him eat a snicker bar in the MAMA short-film. That's the only thing he associates with her. It's his escape. There are a lot of elements you missed to notice and understandably so as it is complicated and very interconnected. Never got that part before, and now it seems sooooo obvious lol To be fair, some people would freeze in place withnesing an accident. I am wondering about Jin too, Because there was a flash while he was driving his car, but we never see what it is....
In Asia they use that hand waving thing that looks like she’s shooing him away as the gesture for “come here.” It’s very rude to gesture for someone to come the way we do it here in the USA by curling a finger because that gesture is only used for dogs and prostitutes. At the end of the Spring Day Music Video Jimin uses the shoo gesture as he gets off the train to indicate that the other members should follow him in getting off. That is not just in Korea but in China and Japan as well. So if you ever visit Asia and need an easy way to offend people you know what to do now.

I've watched the whole BU storyline so many times and I still get chills every time during the Highlight Reel 🥶
The BU can really be confusing because it's not only in their music videos or video reels (highlight and prologue). The whole story can be deciphered through different materials, aside from the MVs, like the Notes (book), their concert VCRs, even a game (BTS World). 😂😂 Like the comment before, I recommend watching the video by xceleste where she summarized everything about the BU so far. Fighting!
When you mentioned the Interstellar original score, I went "YES!" because that is such a beautiful score and I listen to it so often (Interstellar is my comfort movie too because, you know, Christopher Nolan) and the ambient sound in this highlight reel in a way resembles some of the tracks from there. A fun fact, Yoongi loves Hans Zimmer and he talks about how he finds inspiration in his scores. Also, I love your commentaries, hollered at the part where you equate the hand motion to shooing away a peasant.
Ohmyy .. While watching this it feels like I'm watching it for the first time again .. the confusion I've felt while watching even though I already know What that means. It seems like while I watch this over and over again there are so many questions that I want answers . HAHA
Am i spoiling if i say that Jin basically keeps on time traveling to find an alternate reality wherein ALL members are “saved” or fine.
Jin is the only one who has the power to change the future. Each time he changes one persons, another person gets hurt so he fees helpless, that’s why he looks so confused & defeated. Jimin bumped into the girl with Hobie so even though he loves her, Hobie is the one carrying her to the hospital. Hobie remembers when he was abandoned as a child & left with only a candy bar (thus the fake love scene).
the girl performing in the hospital is the same girl who took away Suga's lighter and wrote (Y.K.) when he was about to smoke a cigarette. Suga's name in the BU is Yoongi (though it can be written as Yoonki or abbreviated to Y.K.). Jungkook and Yoongi were very close in the BU and their stories are interconnected. So when Jungkook heared the girl play a song, he somehow thought of Suga. (thats why he had flashbacks).
LY is basically a continuation of the BU. LY Answer (the last album in the LY trilogy) also concludes the BU arch.
The shooing motion means "come here" in Korea. Jimin does it as he's getting off the train in "Spring Day" as well.

Its ok to feel confused :) they have done very little confirming/explanations about the story line and dropped hints in all kinds of media, mvs, videos, concert intermission videos, notes in albums(turned into books), webtoon and more. So dont feel bad if you dont understand it its like a massive puzzle and to make it even more confused there are some cross over occurrences with TxTs fictional storyline. When you catched up with what Dreamteam has in store or they say its ok to watch with out spoilers you can check out XCelestes videos she does a good job consolidating what we know.

@@JimGames Yes, Jin travels back in time. multiple times in the story line. He alway travels back on the same date 11 april. Every time he does the story line is altered so repeated scenes look slightly different.
Yes you can eat in the store! some stores have spaces with microwaves etc where you can make some ramen or heat up the rice.

As I am sure you’ve already been told xCeleste does have a video summarizing the BU but she adds a lot of her own theories into the video so keep that in mind! A lot of the info she puts in there are from things not in the videos, such as the notes that come in the albums and the webcomic. A lot of people take what she says in that video (including her theories) as truth for everything about the BU without reading the additional material. Please if you watch it just keep this in mind. I want to see what theory you come up with without outside influence.

I think if I remember correctly I watched this video like 10x, trying to figure out what the hell was happening. I was way more confused than Jim is now. Once I rewatched the intro for wings, then this, then I figured out it was all connected and some crazy time traveling shit was happening! It blew my freaking mind!! No one is mentioning time travel because “spoilers” 🙂 but alternate timelines, alternate universes are in play 💜 the mother who abandoned Hobi left a snickers bar and the hand thing. That is why you see them in many videos. The flowers are connected to Jin. You already know Suga-fire Jimin-water.
This is what happens when Jim records a video without the otter squad answering his questions at the time. I'm laughing so much at how you're almost screaming your questions and starting to get angry at how you don't have any answers.

About that hand thing you mentioned. The girl was calling Jimin over. In Korea this is a common gesture when you are asking someone to come to you. The western gesture we usually use is considered rude in Korean. So we go hand up and they go hand down.
Also if you look closer at ''baby hope'' scene, there is chocolate on the carousel left by his mom. That's where the Snickers bar comes from in Jhope's scenes from wings ;p
He used to smoke I think. He made a reference of it on the lyrics of Her and even made a smoking sign on performance

I’m not It sure if anyone addressed the girl’s wave that you were confused about, but that is just the Korean way of calling someone over to you! Its like how we wave our hand with our palm up when we tell someone to “come here” but they do it with the palm facing down :) The American way of doing it is a way to pick a fight with someone in Korea..so you move it downward instead of upward..if that makes sense lol I think I learned this from Talk to Me in Korean at some point in my Korean language studies
7eleven and shop mart stores have an eating area where you can cook your ramen and eat it there. When I was in Japan it was great to eat at 7eleven because they also had wifi and the food was inexpensive. By the way it is not the same girl. The " hand thing" is an Asian mannerism for come here. Keep in mine when interpreting to look at it outside our western culture concepts.

There are a lot of explanations and interpretations depending if you want to take a strictly BU direction or if you want a bigger picture in terms of what this era meant for them and ARMYs, but to put it in simple words: as you know from watching the rise of bangtan the boys are becoming HUGE and starting to get some real hate, death threats, false accusations of plagiarism and sexism, racism and xenophobia from the the western markets, not to mention the common condescending attitude towards them as idols (people cannot accept that they are going way beyond the idol label and successfully producing and exploring highly intellectual concepts such as they did in WINGS) so they are being bombarded with hate but they are also young men trying to learn how to love themselves and others. The beginning of the Love Yourself trilogy is about them attempting to love others but failing because they haven't learned how to love themselves yet. You can see that they start love stories with the girls, but they all end up bad. This is just the first part of the trilogy, there will be much more to the story while they learn to accept and love themselves and help us on the same path to do so. Then there's the strictly BU explanation but that's way more complicated and full of spoilers atm.
Yes, it is a time travel story underneath it all. If you haven't figured it out yet, Jin is a hapless time traveler, trying to redo the regrets of the past, but cannot, no matter how many times he tries. He does not use a time machine. Instead, there is an extraterrestrial being, or perhaps a better word is extratemporal being, in all this mess that seems to be his guide. I won't say what. The xCeleste youtube channel has some videos trying to put all the puzzle pieces of the BTU/BU Bangtan Universe together. You will have to find them, I haven't seen them in over a year. No one outside of BigHit/Hybe's story writers really knows what's going on. If you are to try to put this together yourself, you cannot just use the videos alone. There are also webtoons & other media that have more info & detail. Also, there is really no closure to the BU yet afaik, it is still open-ended, which means Hybe/BTS can still continue it. We believe the last video of the BU is Film Out, iirc. BTS is also creating another universe called 7 Fates Chakho which seems to be a separate story, but could in effect still be tied to the original BU, who knows. It's all fictional right? Which means it can be tied together if they them wanted to. Again, as some comments have already suggested, check xCeleste's channel. You should do a reaction on Celeste's explanation video.
31:06 Look carefully. Notice that his mom left a bar of snickers/chocolate bar next to baby Jhope? Now watch Fake Love MV.. Jhope is lying on a bed of snickers and the room he is trapped in has elements from a carnival including broken carousal parts. You'll also see him eat a snicker bar in the MAMA short-film. That's the only thing he associates with her. It's his escape. There are a lot of elements you missed to notice and understandably so as it is complicated and very interconnected. Something just accured to me. Suga gets a text from JK, or video, of the girl playing his song, and he gets angry because she stole her work, that´s why they are fighting on the street.... Never got that part before, and now it seems sooooo obvious lol

In Asia they use that hand waving thing that looks like she’s shooing him away as the gesture for “come here.” It’s very rude to gesture for someone to come the way we do it here in the USA by curling a finger because that gesture is only used for dogs and prostitutes. At the end of the Spring Day Music Video Jimin uses the shoo gesture as he gets off the train to indicate that the other members should follow him in getting off. That is not just in Korea but in China and Japan as well. So if you ever visit Asia and need an easy way to offend people you know what to do now.
