    Thank you! Your video inspired me to do this myself. I am not the most mechanically inclined, but you made it look so easy. I did this yesterday and though it was easy, there was some differences.
    I have a 2015 Toyota Prius C (#4). Based on your video, there was one easier part and one more pain in the back-side part (but still very doable) to this job.
    (1) easier: my Prius did not have the plastic cover. The blower was literally right under the glove compartment. I looked under and there it was.
    (1) pain in the butt: the blower was literally right under the glove compartment!!!!!!
    There was only about 8 inches of space to work in. I am getting far too old to be sticking my head in a confined space, looking upside down trying to get a part out :)
    But, like you showed in the video, there was just the electrical hook-up clip (plus a little extra clip) and 3 bolts (8mm). I did just as you instructed (with the bonus of some huffing and puffing working upside down) and the blower motor slid right out and I slid the new one right in, clipped in the electrical, tightened the bolts and then BAM- A/C was flowing again.
    Thanks again!!!!!

    Outstanding! I'll be doing this job today. Probably just saved me a hundred dollars. This is an almost perfect how to repair video. No fat, and very efficient. Thank you.

    Great video, quick and straight to the point!
    Amy idea if this is the same setup for a 2016 Prius V?
    I just had the blower motor replaced by the dealer last June (2021).
    It started working intermittently these past few months and as of July 7, 2022, it's completely dead again.
    I'm taking it back to the dealer to have them replace it again, and they better not try charging me.
    But I'd like to know anyway since it seems an easy fix so I can do it myself in the future if need be.

    Thank very much for showing this step by step. But I have 2010 too and my problem is similar, I mean the heat is coming to front but if I switch to windshield when its rain it gets cold air only. Do you think this will fix my problem and I am having hard time how to install the blend door actuator too. Please anything you around this area, like how many blend door actuator and is that cause this issue. I really appreciate your help.

      In a 2010 model Prius the blower and resistor are built into the fan unit that I put in the description. So you get both in one. I mentioned this at the beginning of the video. Good luck with your repair.

    I have a question. I have 2011 Prius when I look up the blower motor online it asks does the Prius have a sunroof? My question to you is does it matter if the Prius has a sunroof or not is that going to make a difference in the motor having the resistor all in one unit or not? Or does every Prius from 2010-2015 all have the resistor blower motor in one unit no matter if the Prius has a sunroof or not? Thank you for your time and reply.

    • @HowToWithJames
      @HowToWithJames  Год назад

      I looked it up the best I could not see that having a sunroof made a difference. To be sure you should call your local automotive store and get the part number.

    My Prius is doing the same, but it’s a 2015 model. Would I have to replace the same thing?

    • @HowToWithJames
      @HowToWithJames  Год назад +1

      If you go to my link from the description it will take you to Amazon and this part. There is an option on the page to put in your car's make, model, year, etc. to see if this fits. Go do that to make sure. I tried your car and for me it said it fit but you need to make sure yourself before ordering. I may have missed something in my selections. Good luck! Thanks for watching!

    We changed the part since we were having the exact same problem and it’s still not working. Sounds like it’s trying to work but nothing. Could it be a faulty part or something else?

    • @HowToWithJames
      @HowToWithJames  Год назад

      Sounds like a faulty part to me but I would check the voltage going to it to see if it remains constant.

      We got another part same issue. My husband discovered the connector the blower motor attaches to is dead.

    DO NOT bend the bracket out of the way. It will snap off and break the plastic housing where it is attached. There is 1 Phillips screw holding the bracket to the plastic housing. If the wiring is in the way of the Phillips screw, simply take a wire snips and cut the zip tie holding the wiring to the bracket which will allow easy access to the screw.

    5 secs later turn heater on again

    • @HowToWithJames
      @HowToWithJames  2 года назад +1

      I would check to be sure you have enough coolant. If you are low on coolant it could cause cold air when the heat is turned on. If that is not it then you may have a thermostat problem.
