    Well Dressing I believe is a tradition from ancient times especially in Africa and Europe in the times of Cholera and the Black Plague when water was contaminated. It is also practiced among ancient Samaitains with the belief that Wells can give Holy Water!.....as Jesus met The woman at the Well!

      Well-dressing in England as shown in the video cannot be traced back earlier than the late 18th century.
      And the evidence points to it originating in the village of Tissington, Derbyshire.
