Just picked up one of these sienna 4000 and put it on one of my ZEBCO DOCK DEMON micro fishing rods with 20 pound test. Can’t wait to catch some CATFISH with it.
@@weekendfisherman8072 Nice, Ur welcome. I was looking into this reel as well, good to know the great review you put into it, yeah I was looking into the Shimano Fx spinning reel as well, budget reels I like to call, I have it on my save lists on Amazon, I just purchased a Sougayilang surf master 50 conventional reel the other day from Amazon which I'll be testing out this weekend, I luv fishing & like to collect and put my gears to the ultimate tests when I buy em.
Not sure where your location, but there’s a fishing store in San Jose, Ca. “Fishery Supply” - they carry the Shimano FX 2500 and 3000 from time to time and the price is very cheap $18. I call the Shimano FX 2500 and 3000 a Shimano Stellow-la 2500 and 3000. It’s the cheap end cousin to the more expensive Stella...LOL :)
They carry a lot of fishing rod like Daiwa Emcast to Team Daiwa much cheaper than other places. Please go there and check out the store; you might find it a toy store if you go there :)
Wolf, I really like the rig, looks good. What is the rod rated at for lure weight? Any word on when they plan on opening the pier again? Gene We may sneak down and try to snag a few stripers soon?
Outdoor freedom The pier was opened on last Wednesday, 6/17/2020. I was there on this past Saturday and went home with 7 keepers. Will have video up soon. Not too sure but the rod is a Daiwa Triforce Z 8’ (802MLES-B). I since then moved the Shimano Sienna 4000 reel to my 9’ Ugly Stick and the Daiwa TriforceZ is now paired with the Daiwa Legalis LT 3000, this one combo came in at 14oz with the 1oz Carolina rig setup.
Size 3000 is a good size for surf perch fishing. Pair it with an Ultralight 7’6” to 9’6” rod and you will have a blast catching surf perch. Use 10lb braided line with tie it to about 2’ of 15lb mono using the FC knot. This is mainly use for the sliding sinker (Carolina rig setup)

The reel is really good as long as you don’t dunk it into saltwater.
My Sienna 4000 was dead right out of the box. The anti-reverse was busted, spinning both directions regardless of setting and occasionally grinding.
Yeah you do get the odd fualty one with them because they are cheap but if you get one that has nothing wrong with it they are good
Excellent 👌 review.
Thank you - I really like this reel paired with my Okuma Nesika 10’ Medium rod

@@weekendfisherman8072 Rite on bro, good looking out. I'm from the Bay area. I will definitely look into that. Thanks.

Hey I just got the rod and put some 10lb mono on it and I know the recommended max is 12lb but what did you have on it?
At the time of that video, I had 12lb mono. But the reel now has the Power Pro V2 20lb braided neon green
Nice reel I have one. A bit pricey where u are . In South Africa 🇿🇦 I paid $23 for the 4000.
Eason Reddy Is that $23 US Dollars?
Weekend Fisherman yes bro. I converted from Rands
Eason Reddy, it’s even more expensive now. Bought one 2 days ago 🙈 it was R800 which is $44 now😂
Best reel for 29.99 !! zero faults
Indeed a very good reel.
How to you make it lock? It keeps unwinding my line when I place it against the wall
Check the little tiny lever underneath the spool. That little lever control the handle and spool move forward and reverse.
Yeah it's super tiny now
It’s also black so it blends in and is hard to see
I taught my anti-reverse was broken until i found it 🤣
bass pro shop is open? no more SIP?
Indeed, I went there to checkout the Daiwa Fuego LT but ended up with the Daiwa Legalis LT 3000
whats your rig setup?
AlBERT L Some people use hi/lo rig but I prefer Carolina rig. Both slow retrieving.
Bought 2000,2500,3000 seem all about same size. Something new but like em light
Yes, they are light and great reel for the price.
where u fishing
Linda Mar area
I got the 3000 can I do the same?

Can I catch flathead and whiting also?
I've caught some nice flatheads on the 4000 size while channel cat fishing with mine
I have not landed any of those fish but I am sure you can if you tired out the fish
Line width description please
The line brand is BassPro brand because I purchased the reel from their store. They spool it with 10lb or 12lb line for me but I don’t recall which.
Thanx for reply.. What i m asking is size of line i mean. 0.35mm or 0.45mm
@@sheshagiri6655 it’s a .23mm and I get about 200+yards out of it.
@@weekendfisherman8072 . 23mm how much strength it can hold.. I mean fish size here below 5kg or more than 5 kg
@@sheshagiri6655 .23mm PowerPro V2 is rated at 20lb is about 10kg.
