I'm a huge fan of Courtney. Her range is so epic. She can literally go from Rock, ro pop, to soul, to gospel, to funk, to motown, to opera, to stage musicals, to jazz, to everything in between, and also blending them too. If you really want a fun song from her, you should listen to her previous one, 'That Girl Don't Live Here'. If you do more Courtney, I will subscribe.

I just recently discovered Courtney myself, but I did enjoy this. It is touching and very pretty. She did show some solid vocals without exceeding the limits of the song itself. Knowing her range and power, I think other songs would be better suited to her, but I still did like this one. Enjoyed this reaction video. :)

As a reaction, enjoyed the honesty. As for your opinions, I think it best to watch and listen to more videos before drawing any conclusions. As a point of fact. Courtney got her world wide recognition by rocking all her performance on AGT and most of Voice kids, but before that she sang pop and ballads for the most part as a 9 and 10 year old at open mics and busking to earn money for gas to go to her vocal lessons back then. After she got signed she showed the world that she could sing any genre she chose on her Cover Sessions album. But then Covid hit and Simon who 1st signed her shocked her by selling his shares off to the mother label Sony Music and they disbanded. Now as an independent she chooses to do things her way. I doubt she's trying to get everyone to like what she sings, but always know whatever she sings she unique and damn good at it. People have likes and dislikes, but only those who are involved in creating music themselves, preferably the one playing or singing know what real talent is. Everything else is just opinions based on what a person likes or dislikes. It's like building a house. People like what they see or don't, but they have no clue how well it was built unless they are in the trade of building. Same goes with music. For many it's about creativity and abilities. I hate opera but I respect the hell out of it.

Well said dude. I couldn't of said it any better. I am the carpenter you are speaking about and I confess I don't know the musical side Of creating music. But to be honest it took me a week to listen to this song from time to time before I realized how good this song actually is. I was use to her ripping the songs by the seams. And i do disagree with the dude saying she mentioned Call Me Back too many times. Damn that was what the song was about.

Good honest reactions. Courtney's ballads are beautiful and her singing is the best, but I have to say, if you want to hear something that will really grab you (one way or another😀) catch "Monsters" when it drops on the 29th. The official video probably won't be until some time the following week, no ETA but definitely in the works. For a lot of people like me who fell in love with Courtney when she rocked the house on AGT, the best of her three original songs this year is "That Girl Don't Live Here," and "Monsters" is the one we've been waiting for. It's even more Hard'n'Heavy than her AGT semifinal performance of "Born To Be Wild." To me, the weirdest reactions have been people who hated her talent show performances but LOVED "Call Me Back" or the first original she released, "Breakable"🤣 Not really as weird as it seems to me though, I know. If you dig up videos from 7,8, some maybe 9 years ago, before AGT, before Voice Kids UK, she mostly sang ballads.

Ms. Courtney has performed (and written) a variety of songs in a variety of singing styles, so please check a few more of her performances. To get a better sample of her variety of songs and styles, I curated a playlist of some of her RUclips channel's 'Shorts' video snippets of songs: ruclips.net/p/PLb8HcCaypFMHBOHjcom2zKX2h-EuDF7ad
I do love when she rocks-out, but I also really love her softer slower ballads and other songs, from bluesy to funky with those classic R&B vibes, and often twisted into a classic rock sound. Tina Turner, James Brown, Janice Joplin, and Otis Redding were strong influences upon her.

I must admit to being amazed at your reaction to this song. So completely different than my perceptions of this song. To me, the lyrics as sung by Ms. Courtney in that amazing voice just tears my heart out. That sorrow, that loss, it totally taps into my emotions, and the same for all the other reactors I've watched. I DO appreciate your honesty. i'm just having trouble understanding what you find missing?! Please investigate other songs (both covers and originals) from this young singer-songwriter. I find her to be a top-tier rockstar who also has a sweet voice and gorgeous falsetto, and is a consumate storyteller and singing ballads. Her rock growls and screams are freakin' awesome! Try her 4th original single of this year coming on 29 Sept 2023: 'Monsters' might be more interesting to y'all.

Hi! So cool that you've come upon Courtney's music. Disappointed that you didn't like the song, but happy you recognized Courtney's incredible talent. Courtney is absolutely amazing. The best thing to happen to the music world in decades. She is equally great in everything from Rock to R&B, Funk, Soul and Ballads and there never is any loss to the incredible quality of her music. She even had an opera clip go viral on TikTok. You can't fully tell from this performance, but she is a true stage beast, in the best sense of the word, and dominates a stage like no other when she's rocking out. She's a dynamite guitarist, plays piano and is a true powerhouse as a song writer. As you hear more of Courtney, you'll realize what a truly generational talent she is. Frankly, for me and many of us, she is the true voice of a lifetime.
Courtney had been singing for a number of years prior, but she burst to worldwide fame here when she took America's Got Talent (AGT) by storm in 2018. Her audition video went viral and currently has over 1 Billion overall views. Courtney herself has over 2 Billion on line views. She has a devoted following of millions from virtually everywhere on the globe. On AGT, Courtney focused on singing classic rock from the 60's and 70's by the likes of James Brown, Tina Turner and Janis Joplin. She literally blew the roof off of the arena with every performance. After AGT, so many who were first introduced to her there, viewed her as strictly this fabulous stage dominating rocker, which she most certainly is. However, she is so, so much more. Few realized how versatile she really was and what a truly beautiful voice she had. So she then released a four song EP, where she took massive recent hits across multiple genres, totally re-invented them and created something amazing out of each of them. Old Town Road was one of the songs on the EP where she re-invented it from it's original Country/Hip Hop version into this magnificent rock anthem. The purpose of the EP was to highlight both her incredible vocal range, but also her unmatched creativity. For all four of the songs on the EP, I've never come across anyone who has heard both the originals and Courtney's version, that didn't feel that Courtney blew the originals totally out of the water.
The only reason Courtney isn't already a mega-star is mostly due to bad luck regarding timing. She was slated to appear as the youngest artist at the 50th anniversary of Woodstock. However, that ended up being cancelled for financial and logistical reasons. Courtney was so great on AGT, that she was signed to Syco/Arista records (Sony Music) shortly after the competition. She was getting ready to release her debut album of original music when Covid hit, and the drop was repeatedly delayed for over two years as a result. For years, her label had been trying to twist her into something she didn't want to be, in terms of musical style. So as soon as she could, at the beginning of this year, she left her label and went independent. The result is the three sensational originals she has released so far this year. 'Breakable', a beautiful gritty ballad, a jazzy uptempo song with a touch of almost 1940's swing called 'That Girl Don't Live Here' and this song, 'Call Me Back', that rips my heart out everytime I hear it.. I've put the links below, along with several other suggestions for future reactions to give you a flavor of Courtney's incredible range.
There are five links below. The first are her two other incredible original releases from this year, 'Breakable' and 'That Girl Don't Live Here'.The third link is a song from her EP, 'Sign of the Times', to show you her truly gorgeous voice, the fourth is her cover of 'Old Town Road' that I referenced above and finally is her performance on AGT Champions that will give you an idea of how Courtney can totally dominate a full stage . Can't wait to hear you reacting to more of Courtney's fabulous music. Buckle up. It's going to be a hell of a ride, so enjoy.

Good voice; agree about the song. Fortunately, PPI ① isn't a thing anymore, or she'd be broken. 😀
Maybe too 'Spartan' or repetitive for a first song? She's got decades to develop her songwriting.
    Best Wishes, All. ☮
① For Americans, PPI was "Payment Protection Insurance". It was mis-sold on loans, credit cards, etc.. The UK Financial Ombudsman and Financial Conduct Authority got involved. They fined many banks and credit card companies. That spawned an industry trying to recover money on behalf of customers in return for commissions People got PPI calls, often several times/week, sometimes every day, or more.

I got fleeting moments of Lady Gaga and Janis Joplin in her voice.
Both of them are usually more animated but they have the ability to let out the rawness in their voices similar to hers in brief moments.
I think her passion in saying call me back may be because that person has died.
That being said I have to agree that the song itself was not my favorite. It was a bit repetitive.
