So if always the honey is extracted by such method of flowing out of tab, it is always considered as early extraction ? Is such kind of honey beneficial?
Maybe I'm misunderstanding something. Don't bees dry the honey to a safe storage level then cap the cells? If you harvest it before they cap it, it has to high of a moisture content and isn't shelf stable and if you harvest it after they have capped it they won't keep filling the cells because they don't know the cells are empty since they are capped. So do you always harvest it early with these hives and then reduce the moisture by evaporation or use it immediately? What happens if you harvest it after the cells are capped? Do they bees notice somehow and uncap and refill the cells?
I am not 100% sure, but I think the caps split as well when you unalign the cell walls to let the honey flow out. So I suppose the bees would notice the broken caps and refill
Warning for people interested in this product: Do not take any advice from the company. They suggest things about the hive that can easily kill or harm your colony. Always ask another be keeper.

My bees took to the super immediately because I followed the recommended advice from locals to smear burr wax on the frames. Worked like a charm, it’s been very smooth sailing. To the people saying they dont do good in some areas: its true that they can be prone to mold but when you get it you can paint and treat the wood specific for your area. No need to put the whole hive down just because of area issues that are easily addressed.
Formic Pro or Apiguard (formic acid) CAN be used when honey supers or honey production is still active on the hive. Oxalic acid cannot be used when the honey supers or flow are active, unless the honey is being only fed back to the hive (ie. not for human consumption).

I want this natural honey
How does it work I still don't get it does it squeezes the honey comb
Do you ever get the honey comb? Or do thoes flow hives not do that?
They have a hybrid flow hive where you can harvest honeycomb. I am going to add that one next year I think!
@@meggrowsplants ooh cool Id love to see how that turns out for you
This looks similar to buzz-bee's honey tap in Max Lucado's Hermie and friends
❤❤❤❤
Ayee flow hives! Good lil aussie invention!
Oxalic acid cannot be used when the honey supers or flow are active, unless the honey is being only fed back to the hive (ie. not for human consumption).
my dad has 8 of those! :)
My understanding is that with this method, you can check the done-ness of the honey before you harvest, so the honey often isn't as high quality
You’re able to pull the frames out just like a regular hive. So you’ll be able to see if the honey is completely capped over before you harvest it.
@@meggrowsplants good to know 👍 thank you for info
Brilliant
👍👍👌
I didn’t catch what you said, what is happening that made you have to harvest it early?
lovely.i really need one, how do i go about it?
BEFORE YOU BUY: This company is notoriously horrible at any form of feedback or criticism, and will never admit they’re wrong. Instead, they’ll like comments of people trashing your character! They give out harmful information and then gaslight the person that calls them out. Simply due to how this company acts so scummy, I will not be supporting in any way. They act like petty children.
I recommend Bowserbee’s videos on them.
S0😊 cool !!
What's your bee barn called, and where did you get it from?
You are so rich❤
Flow Hive desperately tryna saturate beetok with paid reviews immediately after the bowser debacle is so sad
What happened?
it’s unfortunate how poor flowhive’s customer service is bc it really is a neat product
another brand new hive. still waiting to se one that is several seasons old. “earlier than expected” you mean before it has enough moister out?
What a tool.
Where can one get this?
Is honey wine different to mead?
No it’s the same
How to you know the super is contaminated with mites?
