Why do people buy more expensive cards on TCGplayer? Market Manipulation!

    I sold about 500 transactions on TCGplayers (by no means a huge seller) but from my experience, some buyers tend to buy from the same sellers they have done business with and with whom they trust. I also buy on the same platform and some sellers' NM are really at best LP and always cause a hassle for the return and refund

    Sooo typically I think the volume is too low on examples like this for it to be market manipulation. The same is true for yugioh as well (some 2nd page listings sell). For higher volume cards (ie at least 50/month) there may be some incentive for large sellers to swap inventory back and forth. For This raquaza card I would guess it was bundled into a large order from the same seller OR potential brand/seller loyalty OR lastly and most likely they bought: lowest near mint verified seller with photos

    thats why you go with Ebay sold instead. TCGplayer is gimmicky with their sales prices for collector cards
