Volvo Trucks - A 30 metre and 90 tonne FH16 timber truck in northern Sweden - Driver’s World (E05)

- Опубликовано: 8 сен 2024
- In the forests of northern Sweden we meet Roger Henriksson, a timber truck driver who participates in the Swedish research project One More Pile. The aim of the project is to change the Swedish load limit legislation to allow vehicle combinations of up to 90 tonnes and 30 metres in length instead of today’s 60 tonnes and 25 metres. Driving with a 50% larger load increases efficiency and cuts carbon emissions by 20% compared with a traditional timber vehicle combination.
Watch how Roger handles this unique vehicle combination in his Volvo FH16 from 2013 with a 750 horsepower engine.

90 tons… that's really impressive!
New Zealand has some of the biggest logging trucks in the world
working off-highway on private roads - which can see
Gross Combination Masses of around 150-tonne.

I want that in euro truck simulator 2 :o
This is how you do legislation - not in response to the heated emotions of the moment, but research, research, research. I''d like to think that at least in Sweden that's how laws get done.
Very nice! I suggest you guys to check here in Brazil, where some trucks that are loaded with timber are pulled by tractor trucks, and 3 trailers behind them. Some of theese trucks pull 120 ton out of the woods, and are unloaded to 80 tons to trnasport them on normal roads. Also, there is a company that ises only Volvos to transport steel, also a 3 trailer tractor truck. I don't know how much it weights, but, my guess is 40+ tons
I love Volvo truck because of its strength as greatness
Over the top
Thank you Volvo, nice movie, we love that kind of marketing!
90 tonnes de la rigolade pour un VOLVO TRUCKS FH16. GOOD driver!!!Respect

Volvo trucks are the best cant wait to see american streets full with them instead of the old and outdated ones that we see today theyre so far behind
navyDSM that depends how u look at it, ya some r heaps that shouldn't b on the road, but some r classics to some of us.
the problem is space, some US truckers need it for their long hauls

your welcome volvo trucks😊
Aqui no Brasil, um homem fez um video puxando 115 toneladas com um FH 540!
Es mucho más que afición al trabajo
yes this is a power truck
You have 6x4 configuration and you can still lift up 3rd axle and disable it???
Looks like 6x2 buddy
kolejarz82 6x4 and yes back axle is lifted.
+jajesam sigurno The steering front axle and the midle axle are drive axles. As for the back axle, I'm not sure if it's a drive one as the disabling it is a new technology for Volvo.
With my Volvo d13, I pull 2 x 53 foot trailers 4,000kms / week. No reason why this log truck shouldn't work ok... and I'm 31 meters....through cities...though we are limited to 63,500 kg...
ok you are the best!
i'm not the best, i'm saying this truck in the video will have no problems ;)
Wat fuel consumption do u average
AS WE CALL IT B TRIPLE IN AUSTRALIA
Дайте мне на испытания машинку. К нам в Сибирь!

The new Volvo is really nice and power-full , but .... Scania , still the best!!!
no
People will have a preference or favourite. My thinking is you buy Swedish. Volvo or Scania. Both are quality trucks.
I like you
Överkalix, lol

what is the allowed speed for this volvo in sweden ?
forestchurch I think it is the same as for other trucks in Sweden - 50 km/h in cities, 70 km/h outside cities, and 80 km/h on highways.
+Vojtěch Nižňanský 80?! I thought trucks were limited to 90 in Europe.
Max McTabish: It varies by country. For example, in Czech Republic, Switzerland and Norway, the speed limit for trucks is 50/80/80. In Hungary, Poland, Austria and Sweden, it is 50/70/80. In Germany, it is 50/60/80. In France, it is 50/60/90. In Slovakia, it is 50/90/90.
Vojtěch Nižňanský Ahhh... That still just seems too slow though... My only experience with trucking is through playing Euro Truck Simulator 2 but still most modern tractors seems much more capable of doing higher speeds safely. Especially when just going in a straight line. When I lived in the US for a few years, all the trucks there were going 120+ KPH and my dad was always saying that it was safer that way because they weren't stopping fast cars and making people have to pass them all the time.
+Max McTabish Yes, I also think that it would be safer if trucks had same speed limits as other cars. Unfortunately, we are in the European Union that wants to destroy everything. They say it is because of the emissions and noise.
Swedish chef is talking, people...
Where is the subtitles?

So you’re half way there, get down here to Australia to see a real truck.
90 tonnes is 2 tonnes more than double what UK trucks gross...
Komea työkalu ja helvetinmoinen hinta.

shiney, new, quiet, clean, powerful, modern ya its pretty nice, but I kinda like the old girls, give me an old, dirty, diesel guzzling, soot belching loud kw any day.
+pfow2006 Wouldn't be legal in the EU most likely. It's not really about "That's awesome, dude!" here. It's about safety. That goes for all vehicles really. If all of those safety features, driver assist features etc. makes the job too boring for people, they'll just have to find another line of work. There's no other alternative.
Sweden is an EU country, so it's obviously legal in some pats of the EU, I think this combo and weight is also legal in Finland.
I dislike only for cutting trees 👎👎👎
