This series shaped who I am. My sister and I watched this every year it was on! Because of Estaban and his golden condor I'm a pilot in real life! I still watch it today! One day I will go to South America and see for myself. Maybe I'll find them... I'm really hesitant to watch the new ones. Thanks for the remake! I'd love to see a small orchestra play these songs!
I've been crawling through the Amazon searching for Eldorado for the past 40 years. I have nothing to show for it, no Golden Condor, no ancient tech ship, nothing. This year I accepted that Eldorado doesn't exist at all. This show ruined my life.
Just FYI, it's been rebooted, there are at least two more seasons in existence. I haven't watched them, just a few youtube clips. Don't know if it's as good as the original or not, though I can't say I'm fond of the CGI.
It is quite amazing how hard this cartoon resonates with the 80s kids. I grew up with it myself, and I watch the series about once per year. Its the same story every time, shivers down my spine, slight gasp as the condor takes to the air for the first time. I tried watching the new series but in my opinion it fell flat on its ass. For me what made MCoG so good as a child was that the animation and character design was very human-like. It brought an air of authenticity to the show. Also St. Elmo's Fire is the best track of the series :)
A great deal of this show's appeal was the background music. I never get tired of watching the series, and in remains undiluted by my repeated watching of the show.
I'm not an 80s kid, i was born in 2003 but this cartoon represents a lot for me. I was 6 when I watched it for the first time and I remember that I immediately liked it. Now I'm 17, I'm watching it for the second time and I just can't explain what I'm feeling, I cried at the end of the first episode.. I've not listened to the soundtrack for 11 years but every music sounded like I heard it yesterday! The mysterious cities of gold is just so powerful due to a fascinating story, an incredibly well composed soundtrack and beautiful graphics. And for the new series, the thing is that back in the days, cartoons were handmade in opposite to today's cartoons that are designed with computers and it feels much less human... (PS: I'm French so sorry for potential mistake ^-^)
I recently rewatched the original which I last saw as a kid and it held up so good, so rich and majestic, wonderful writing, animation and voice acting. Saw a bit of the sequel and its terrible. Awful exaggerated computer game animation, and generic voices and music. Not a patch on the original sadly, which is a shame but no surprise, exactly what I expected.
I loved the show when I was a child (I am an 80's child) and I presented it to my child now. Well, she adores the show and is always asking to see another episode. I am also hooked (again!) It is probably the most educational show I ever saw with my child. I am afraid that the seasons 2 and 3 will be a flop to us both :( Yes, I agree: so far St. Elmo's Fire is the best track of the serie!

"That man, who we called the Travelling Prophet, he realised that the Cities of Gold were not quite what he had thought. Then, when our High Priest died and the Prophet took on the duties of the High Priest: he wanted to stay here because he was sure that one day his son, who had been lost many years ago, would come here to find him. Génial merci, cette mélodie est magnifiquement mélancolique ! La perte des deux pères d'Esteban, en effet... Et encore bravo pour votre réorchestration, je suis curieux de savoir comment vous avez pu mobiliser un orchestre et des chanteurs pour les choeurs, si c'est bien comme cela que vous avez procédé ?
It’s in the soundtrack of the original mysterious cities of gold, it’s called ‘To the harbours of the city’, it’s currently on RUclips. In both English and French.
Tell me your Answer t the request please so I don't wait too much for some thing you don't want to do (your choice any ways you are still one of the best) :)
Probably because both series had their incidental music composed by Haim Saban and Shuki Levy, and like any composer, certain stings and chords carry on from one work to the next. Even John Williams has chords in his newer work for Star Wars that remind me strongly (if not precisely) like music he did for Harry Potter. Furthermore, Saban and Levy composed the music for this and "Masters" within a year or two each other, what with "MCoG" release date pre-dating "MotU" by a year. So it's likely the MCoG track was one Saban or Levy really liked, and revised/revisited it to be used in MotU.
Amazing. Less electronic than the actual soundtrack but I like it. I think if MCOG was ever made into a live action movie, the soundtrack would sound like this. Is this available for purchase?
Hi. Thank you very much for your kind comment. The piece cannot be purchased as I don't hold the rights for. Use a RUclips Downloader to download (and convert) it ;-)

Moment magique à 8mn57 : révélation vers la lumière...
He would be shown the way here by the medallion of the sun which had once been given to him."
impressionant !
Amazing 👌 thank you

What does, "reorchestration", mean? Oh, wow! Some of this music was used in, "He-Man And The Masters Of The Universe", too! wicked wild!
Wait What

@@polishalastor142 Are you asking, "What IS...?" or what in the show was used? Some of the music was used in both shows. The full show title was, "He-Man And The Masters Of The Universe"!

-Thank you for this réorchestration of my childhood songs. What's the name of the last part, from 25:28 to the end ?
Veeeeery nice! Could you also add a tracklist in the description?

Yes Anna vdw?
Does anyone have a track listing?
Does anyone know the name of the theme from 22:38 - 23:32 ? God it’s so epic!
Hi Telmarine55. I put some self-composed themes in my reorchestration, this is one of them 🙂
j'aime beaucoup cette version mais rien ne vaudra jamais l'originale :)
es muy hermosa
9:00 🥺 I love it. Please what's the name of this ost ?
It’s in the soundtrack of the original mysterious cities of gold, it’s called ‘To the harbours of the city’, it’s currently on RUclips.
In both English and French.
@ewankidner3466 Thank you so much 🙏🏽

hello what's the title of the sequence at 12:43?
Hi. That piece is called "Children of the Sun".
Marc Racordon thank u it's famous
Tell me your Answer t the request please so I don't wait too much for some thing you don't want to do (your choice any ways you are still one of the best) :)
Why is it that the theme for Snake Mountain was used in He man and Cities of Gold? It is definitely a good theme though.
@@REMcCullick Some of the music in MASK is the same too. I swear they reused some pieces in several of the cartoons they worked on.
Am i wrong, or is St. Elmos fire missing?

How was it?
@@zinchel5322 Good tv show
