If I were to do a list like this, my list would be far, far larger. Blame being a young person with no money in the era that Lego started getting more complex while also getting more expensive and less accessible to someone with a budget. As well as the limited lifespan of sets
There’s so much. Some of the biggest are the old RotJ sets-like Jabba’s Palace, Jabba’s Sail Barge, The Rancor Pit, The Ewok village. LEGO never makes Ep6 sets, so I really regret not getting those. I also missed the entire RoS wave-they retired early in my area for some reason, so I missed the opportunity. I also missed most Ninjago sets, and now regret that pretty bad
There were quite a few Creator Expert modulars that I was sad that I missed out on, especially the Detective’s Office/Barber Shop. Thankfully I was able to get the Assembly Square before it retired because that one is my favorite Creator Expert modular
I remember getting that Indy set because our neighbours had it and they were moving so they gave it to us. I have no idea what happened to it since then. Most of the 2006-08 Batman sets would be on my list. I could only get the really cheap ones when they were on shelves.
I miss the Lord of the Rings sets. I got a few of them (Rivendell and the Black Gate) but I missed out on most of it. Tolkiens Middle-Earth is my favourite IP so Id love to see it return, as unlikely as that is.
Love this idea of this video! I missed out on some really cool older themes and sets like Indiana Jones because I wasn’t collecting lego sets yet since I was really young.
The jabbas palace and rancor pit are two sets I regret not getting all the time! Although even if I had gotten them I probably would’ve destroyed them after a few months anyway 😂
Yeah there’s a lot of sets what I really REALLY wanted but unfortunately missed out on (if only Lego did a Lego theme called Lego legacy which was old sets EXACTLY the same with EXACTLY the same price for people to get sets they missed out on and honestly I think it WOULD do really well)
Most recently I missed out on the Parisian Restaurant, the Naboo Starfighter, the TARDIS, the Saturn V Rocket and a lot of the Lego Dimensions one off characters.
This is a really good list. Number one I think for me would have been the Minecraft Mountain cave which I think to date is the most elaborate impressive set the theme has put out yet. Completely missed out one the earlier Batman sets but eventually parted out the original Tumbler/Icecream truck chase as well as the Harley Quin Monster truck bike chase. Both for the most part really easy to build up considering how old they are minus the figures. As for other sets in the theme would love to have bout the original bat tank/Bane set as well as the one I really regret missing out one being the second Arkham Asylum set which IMO was perfection only it came out the same year as the Monster Fighters Haunted Mansion. Other than that sad to have missed out on the Ideas Steam Boat Willy/Voltron sets. Other than that I'm good.
Idk if I would have many regrets. Seeing those early clone wars sets or even the ones in 2013. I was lucky enough to be at an age that was into LEGO and have some money aka 13. But man 2008 missing out on those earliest battlepacks darn my 8 yr old self for prioritizing only bigger sets which was the mtt didn't have money for that so got a city police boat. Now that was my main regret. But my 13 yr old set grabbed the set with the p2 rex.
my number one lego set i missed out on are all the chima sets i wasnt able to get (yes you read that right, ridiculous amount of people who hate chima for no reason) i got a lot, but also missed a lot. particularly the phoenix flying fire temple and the croc swamp hideout.
I think people just hate on it for the memes I thought it was a pretty cool theme i got the big wolf vehicle set for cheap with a damaged box love that set
I used to have the Ghost. I have the Ewok Village because my stepdad knew someone selling it with a damaged box for cheap and knew I wanted it before we even met, when he and my mom were just dating and I hadn't met him yet, and he knew I loved Star Wars and Lego so I got to get it with a slightly damaged box. I didn't get the Rancor Pit because it was not much for what is cost, but I do have the old Jabba's Palace that it goes with and the big Jabba's ship.
The only one that I actually had growing up was the Indiana Jones temple escape, got it for Christmas one year. Hands down one of my favorite sets when I was a kid, so many features and lots of playspace. Wish I still had it 😔
I regret not getting the Lego Minecraft wither and witch hut sets becauseI just recently got a bunch of bootleg versions of the two figures. They are also actually pretty accurate to the official figures besides the witch's eyes being too far up.
I’ve missed out on a LOT of Lego sets, I was never really aware of the VIP and sales as a child. And since I call myself a Lego fan with only about 7 sets I need to pay more attention to when things go on sale so that I won’t have to get myself or my family to spend too much money
I remember seeing such cool bionicle and hero factory sets, mainly of the villains, that I regret missing out on. For bioncle though, I either wasn’t born yet or a baby and for hero factory I was only like 9 so I didn’t really have the money to buy the sets. I also regret missing out on the Lego movie 1 sets because I loved that movie so much but I didn’t have any sets from that movie. I luckily have most of the Lego movie 2 sets though
I’d love to see an updated version of the Duel on Geonosis set with Obi-Wan and Anakin added in and Anakin should wield both a blue lightsaber and a green lightsaber!
I got the Jabbas Palace set back in like 2013-2014 for Christmas, it was an awesome set. Really wish my dumbass 10 year old self didnt tear it apart because it would’ve been neat to display As for sets I wish I had, a lot of Atlantis stuff comes to mind, mainly the big set with the squid and the big shark temple thing. I had the atlantis city set back then, along with some of the smaller ones, but those two were so cool looking. Also regret not getting the Ninjago Epic Battle set from 2012, but it was way too expensive for me back then. Also, the two Minecraft D2Cs, the Wither and Stronghold sets, and the character packs. I was really into lego Minecraft from 2014-2015, fell out in 2016 and didn’t get back into it until last summer, so there’s a ton of stuff I missed
It still angers me that LEGO discontinued Jabba's Palace early just because an activist group claimed that it was insensitive to Muslim architecture, despite this exact same group having not a single problem with any other depiction of Jabba's Palace ever since it was first shown in Return of the Jedi.
One set that I am really upset that I missed out on is the Ewok Village. I was just too young and didn't have the money at the time, but I remember literally staring at that set in the LEGO store, and that is now probably the set that I am most upset that I missed out on because of that. A few years ago, I even emailed LEGO about it because I wanted it so bad, but the only Endor thing we got in the last few years was the "Endor Battle" with the targets on them, and I took that as their response to my email, and I was honestly disappointed about that. So that is my number one, along with a story.
That Ghost and Duel on Geonisis sets, plus the Phantom set with Thrawn are my biggest regrets. If they were released today even without hindsight, there would be no way I won't get them, but alas.
My list is waaaaay larger. Like, pretty much the entirety of LOTR, Pirates of the Caribbean, the original Batman line, and Monster Fighters, none of which I had even one set of, something I so deeply regret, and then for themes I did collect the Temple of Doom, the Well of Souls, the Dynamic Duo Funhouse Escape, Jabba's Palace, the MBS Cloud City... And I had the original Endor Bunker until I broke it down and lost like half the pieces... So much regret.
I started collecting Modular buildings last year, I have every set since the Brick Bank which I got in January for $500. I’m now building the Pet Shop and got the Parisian Restaurant for the same price. Money we’ll spent in my opinion
Top 5 Lego sets I personally missed out on: -Lego Movie Super Cycle Chase -Lego DC Brainiac Attack -Lego Dimensions Kai and Cole Team Pack -Lego DC Artic Batman vs. Mr. Freeze: Aquaman on Ice -Lego Marvel Wolverine's Chopper Showdown
I only got one lego Indiana jones set before they ended the theme, he’s one of my favorite characters of all time and since they brought him to Fortnite I just wish I was able to get the sets, hope for more when the fifth comes out
Your #1 is my number 1 & I also regret missing out of Queen’s Ann revenge ship but I do have the black Pearl & I also wish I would of got the Modular fire station. Started collecting the Modular’s after that one.
There was no actual controversy with the Jabbas Palace set.. one guy said something that was reported on, and that’s it. The rest was just you tubers making up the controversy. It was never pulled from shelves either, it just sold out... it actually sold out quickly because of perceived controversy. Anyway, I just bought the palace and Rancor pit.. expensive but it was now or never 🤘
@@Ashnflash I’ve read that story, that’s basically what I meant, one Turkish father got offended and his local group made an outcry, but it didn’t go much further than that. Other than RUclips pretty much 👍
My Top 5 Lego Sets I Missed Out 5. The entirety of Lego Disney CMF S1 (I have some, but I couldn’t get Peter Pan or Genie or Alice or Mr. Incredible, and trying to get these minifigs is just impossible for me) 4. The Lego Mystery Machine (Too much for my frugal ass 😭) 3. The first Sanctum Sanctorum (Again, too much to justify the cost and I wouldn’t know where to put it, and even with the second one on the way, I would still miss out on it) 2. The entirety of Lego Simpsons CMF S1&2 (Again, I have some of each, but not all) 1. Lego Black Canary (I couldn’t find it the honest way, and I can’t use online resources to get it, because once again, it’s impossible for me to acquire).
I really relate to you having turned off indiana jones on tv. When I was a kid (I'm still one right now) I was horrified by the sheer gruesomeness and violence of it. Anyways, I feel a little sad that you didn't get these sets in time. I hope that lego would remake at least one of these sets so you can buy one.
My list would be basically every single star wars set that came out in 2013. A lot of these sets weren't even knocked off by the alt brick companies. That plus the ghost/phantom and the lord of the rings sets
I bought the Ghost in a damaged box, built it and later sold it for $50. I wish I'd kept it seeing current prices but as far as the build goes In honestly wasn't too into it. Too many studs on top, not to that great looking.
This is a great idea for a video, but 10 is simply not enough for ALL the sets I’ve missed. 2011-2015 Star Wars- just in general. Ghost, Podracers, Palace, Pit, Gunship, Kylo’s ship, Shuttle Tydirium, Ewok Village, Palpatine’s Arrest- missed all of them. Got 5 of the 6 Infinity War sets (still on shelves at full price) in 2019, then found out Corvus Glaive Thresher Attack was retired half a year before the rest. Looked for a long time, finally tracked one down in a store, COVID hit and never saw it again. Also am pretty close to saying I have now missed the Death Star Final Duel for the second time. Missed the whole Indiana Jones range except the Temple of Doom and Jungle Cutter. Saw ONE Pirates of the Caribbean set in a store window as a kid, couldn’t go in. That was the first and last time I ever saw a POTC set on shelves. Still want the Black Pearl.
I am glad i was able to get the little market indiana jones set for only €20 sealed, but i was too stupid to skip the flying wing set sealed for only €60 unfortunately
I kick myself regularly for missing the Ewok Village set, especially since I had the money for it but didn’t want to spend that much at the time. My other biggest misses are The Black Pearl and The Queen Anne’s Revenge.
Every single Justice League set. I started collecting again recently and while I wasn't all of the JL sets came out but I didn't get any. I can't get Darkseid, or Grodd, or yellow suit Sinestro.
For me it's not even set. It's waves. I missed out regrettably on space police, power miners, ultra agents, a good half of Indiana jones, and bizarrely Prince of persia. Those sets were way cooler than they had any fight to be. But the one that hurts me the most are pirates of the caribbean. I've been going out of my way to get those sets because I missed out on all of them but one.
The only sets I really missed out on were the old viking sets and the Lord Of The Rings sets. Those all happened during a dark age. Otherwise I think I have all I really want.
My biggest regret is definetly 2017 justice leauge knightcrawler set, it had Great build, saw it on Sales a lot (even when it was retired), and i know the price is gonna get WAAAYYY higer, especially with a certian Flash actor in it
Out of these 10: 10. Yes 9. Yes 8. Not necessarily 7. Very good set but no 6. Oh yes 5. Yeah, why not 4 & 3. Hell yes 2. Looks very nice but no 1. Good set but no
Unrelated, but yes they should. Same with How to train your dragon and Shrek. It’s a travesty that Trolls is the only DreamWorks property to get LEGO sets
The only set I would sa that I missed out on is Lego LOTR Shelob Attacks set I had to choice betwen it Star Wars Anakin's Jedi Intercepter and I went with Star Wars how I wish I would have chose difrently espesily now with duel on mustafar set
If I were to do a list like this, my list would be far, far larger.

I will always regret not buying any of the X-Men sets when they came out
I REALLY wanted the Mountain Cave set when it came out, but I didn’t have that much money back then to spend on LEGO :(
Looking back in 2012 and 2013, I regret prioritising buying China and skipping on most the clone wars and lord of the rings sets.
When you skip buying lego sets to buy China
I got the Rancor pit sealed for relatively cheap a few years ago I think it was about $120.
I got the ewok village a few years ago for Christmas. Best lego moment of my life
Literally every Batman set I wish I could go back to 2006 and get all of em
I always hear so many people saying how much they regret not getting the palace and I'm like:

I missed out on the kwik E mart that’s one of my biggest Lego regrets

I wanna see a remake of the LEGO STAR WARS Ewok Village set from 2013 in 2023!
I missed out on all of the newer sets I wanted to get because they’re so expensive.

Ugh I wish I had bought the indoraptor rampage from Jurassic world but that was when Harry Potter relaunched so I had other things to buy
As I child I always wanted an Indiana Jones set, but they didn't arrive to my country 😭😭😭😭
Dang the feeling when a set you love is retired and stupid expensive on the aftermarket
Can we get a collection tour soon?
i love legos
I missed out on like hundreds of sets, don't feel bad.
I have the temple escape set but it’s all destroyed.
lego should make kung fu panda sets
Probably never with all molds they would have to make and series kinda Being done (i think theres Like a tv show still going and thats it)
Unrelated, but yes they should. Same with How to train your dragon and Shrek. It’s a travesty that Trolls is the only DreamWorks property to get LEGO sets

Toa Mata Nui. My Mom even admits that I was right in insisting that we should have gotten it when we saw it at Toys-R-Us.
