there is NO way that any family in The Philippines would ever reject someone for being gay. It would just NEVER happen. The gays are everywhere in everyday life there.

This challenged me. Would I have befriended Merideth? The answer is probably not. I would be kind to her, but I don't think I would have gone out of my way to be her friend, and she so badly needs a friend. Made me rethink who I am spending my time and energy on.
This made me actually think twice, I have met meridiths in my life, I have been kind, but as you said, I never tried to get out of my way to be friend with them....I should reflect my life and think it over.
I wish that too I want to try to find A very special lady in my life. And I like this lady Mary Beth. I like this lady the first time I saw her. If Know her contact, please contact me.
I cried so hard watching this and I relate to Meredith so much with being the invisible one that people just dismiss. Angelo was just such an amazing human being.
Perhaps you can join a club that relates to something you appreciate. A new circle of friends or acquaintances may be waiting for you. I wish you the very best Sara.
@saramatthews7159 A small idea that can help. Give smiles and random compliments. As you pass a person alone, say, "I love your shoes." or "that's a great coat." What does that give you? A surprised look from them. Pleasure on their face. They smile and say thank you. Smile and, while still walking, say "You're welcome." or, my preference is to say, "You have a great day." and just keep walking. Don't trap yourself by giving a compliment to someone in an elevator... or another person sitting in a waiting room. Then you're in the middle of a conversation that makes you wish you'd never spoken. And one can't do that if its a group of people walking past, that's out of our comfort range. (Yes, I'm talking about me and you!) By doing it as you pass someone, there is no risk to you. You aren't doing it to get into a conversation or wanting anything in return. Its just a little compliment to a stranger or even a co-worker. Just as you need to be noticed, so do others. But by noticing them.... you've changed their day, and that changes your day -- you will feel this slow rush of pleasure that you caused someone to smile. They smiled at what you said. You are no longer invisible. The expectation of being invisible makes you invisible. If you try to do the above just occasionaly.... it changes something inside you. You see yourself as a person who has made someone smile. Invisibilty is you hiding from others. This is a safe way to test waters.... and slowly, you feel better about you. You feel safer in small interactions and that increases how you like you. It truly does help you to interact with others in other ways in the future if and when you want to.
I know how you feel. People overlook others every day. It's sad so many people feel invisible to the world. You are not invisible Sara. Your Angelo is out there. ❤
I think the greatest part of this is that in the beginning Angelo taught meredith how to open up and connect with people and brings her out of her shell. While he may not ever be the same now, Meredith can now be what Angelo was for her in the first place. And she could have never done that without him
"The sea brought them together.... and it will also draw them apart..." I KNEW that line had signifigance... I just wasn't ready. What an EXQUISITE short film. I'm in tears
Amazing ! So many details I liked, like the fact that she starts by wearing a hair bun, then braids, and eventually lets her hair free, as to symbolize her progressive inner liberation thanks to that man, or the colors of their clothes at the end that are the same as the other's at the beginning, which enhances the fact that roles are now reversed
Kind of heartbreaking but also weirdly uplifting. It's so strange to think of people who enter our lives for a moment in time yet leave such an impact. The fact that she ended up the chatty one in the end teaching him how to fish was just beautiful yet sad. Even though she may not get the relationship that she was looking for, she got something great instead. She got the spark back in her life, she gained confidence and felt the love and warmth of a friendship. So throught provoking. I'm also trying to figure out what the waves signify. Something to do with the waves and how its linked to life, i just cant quite articulate it.
@@thetaekwondoe3887 perhaps yes. The ups and downs of life too. The emptiness we can feel at times, etc. It would be interested to know what the writer had in mind.
when Angelo caught the two minnows in the bucket, he said that the ocean bought them together(the minnows). Angelo them went on to say that the ocean would soon take them away. The ocean and its fish brought Meredith and Angelo together initially. The ocean also took Angelo away when he had his accident on the ship. Then the ocean brought them together again after his accident when Meredith offered to teach him how to fish. The ocean is signified with the waves:)
My mother was the same--told me it was she and I against the world. I, too, didn't know how to do life when I got away from her. Only at the age of 54 did I understand what love is--you and me with the world. Both of these two characters are beautiful. Thank you for this film.

Fantastic story. The film was captivating from beginning to end....and I have to say that the Meredith character portrayed by Artemis was absolutely amazing.
Masterfully done. So many little beautiful details. The cast was fantastic, I hope the two actors have more opportunities to show case their talent. They both have a very unique style that is so refreshing and authentic.
I feel Angelo so well - I’m social and seem confident but I’m actually super private and have demons inside. Meredith is me when I’m anxious and insecure. Both types of people have their own hang ups and insecurity. I love this
I LOVE LOVE LOVE how this channel promotes and executes THE BEST HUMAN EXPERIENCES!! How each short captures and not exploits the human experience is not only breath taking but much appreciated ON GOD!!!
This is a very beautiful story. First time a youtube video has ever force me to fight back tears. Best of all, these weren't starlets with perfect teeth, hair, and bodies. These were ordinary people in an extraordinary story of love, friendship and humanity. Ironically, I can identify with Meredith's life with her mother and after her mother. Seriously, this is a better story than what I have seen in years from a Hollywood full motion film, and it was done in only 36 minute runtime. Deserves a lot of 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
I'm ugly crying 😭💔💔 "the family didn't like the real me" easter egg OMG, so sad. What an incredibly beautiful, well-acted believable testament to the need for human connection, at any & all cost ❤❤❤
OMG. This is an enlightenment. Now I finally understand it. But Meredith is doing a wonderful job there, idk if I can be as kind as her. ❤❤❤ Great story and film!
Such a beautiful movie based on friendship, unconditional kindness, and hope. That moment when she almost abandoned the friendship, to then find herself standing in front of the painting (of the ocean) Deeply moving.
One of the best, an absolute gem, so well crafted.......this is a fine example of a film that deserves to be on the school curriculum across the globe. It has true meaning, showing both heartwarming & sad tales, culminating in change, hope for the future and realisation. Perfectly summarised in the description as "a tribute to the ordinary, hard-working everyman and everywoman, of normal people just trying to get through life".
This has to be animated for an Oscar. Seriously this is top notch. In fact a lot of movies I have seen in Omeleto should have some sort of awards in their belt.

Masterful acting esp on the part of Meredith! That was a difficult role to play and she did it SUPERBLY! KUDOS to creators, film crew, to all involved. A masterpiece of raw emotion!
When I started to see this film I was feeling lonely , depressed and sad and at the end I was feeling hopeful for some reason .I could see myself in Meredith. I had to pause a few times in between the movie to wipe my tears as I was bursting out into emotions . A little story that just changes your day , makes u lighten up. A truly beautiful art that shows you can be the reason for someone's smile . Thanks a lot for this masterpiece 😇
I love how this thoughtful film comes together in the end. The ocean brings together and takes away. The ocean took away Meredith's minnow only to bring him back again. And just as a minnow would return from the ocean changed, so was Angelo. What a wonderful story.
Such believable characters. Meredith is such an amazing actress. I realized I’m an Angelo talking wise and my best friend for some years was always silent 😂 when I’m anxious I become her but at my best self I’m him 100%

A beautiful film. well filmed and acted. All this in a small movie, needs no other embellishments or big money. Thank you to everyone who had any part in making this film. I loved it.
This is the best one I've seen in quite a while. There's a kind of karmic (?) thing in the way the roles get reversed, and Meredith gets a chance to repay Angelo's kindness, but with the wrinkle that he's oblivious to his own memory of her, which actually allows her to feel comfortable taking the risks posed by coming out of herself. The dialog is kinda sparse, but it delivers, saying everything it needs to say without being too obvious or too obscure. This thing is just really good all the way around.
Wow, what ya'll did in just 37 mins. is astounding! It was really good, and I kept needing it to go on and on. It did, until the right ending. They did it all in an amount of time for her to go from one fish in the sea, to a few minnows in the pond, which are like family and strong. They just reminded me of minnows that needed reunited and to be in each other's lives. :)
This was AWESOME. All the acting was great, but when you have to be totally honest ... Artemis Bell is this film's EVERTHING! Congratulations cast & crew, you stole my heart.
Lovely story, I saw it as two outcasts made unhappy by other people’s ignorance and small mindedness. They saw and felt there experiences between each other
😭😭 when he was calling out for his husband. My heart broke several times during this video 🥰😭😭😭😭😭 but it is truly a beautiful testament to human connection
I was eating at lunch today for Easter with my wife and daughter. There was an elderly woman, fully dressed, eating her French brunch at a table of four, all alone. Someone even came and took one of her chairs for their table. She sat quietly, at one point we exchanged glances, but there was no smile within the exchange. I so badly wanted to go and sit with her, but wasn't sure of her situation. And I had my family there. She eventually got up and walked away, an invisible meal alone on Easter. I've been thinking about it ever since, and now it's too late to just be a warm stranger to her. Let us not be afraid to communicate, I'll surely make it up to this woman the next time.
I cannot thank you enough. I really needed this film today...sometimes we can be surrounded by many but still feel alone....I feel grateful right now. Not so lonely...💙🌎
Life is really more rich when we as humans connect with souls to souls... vs what we have now.. which is mainly about clicks, appearances, Quid Pro Quo transactional human relationships, and bully culture. This story really was well crafted in a tender manner and offered hope to those who are seeking to connect with humanity on a energetic level. This really moved me to pause and think about my superficial connections with people.. from work, family (yes family of bullies makes it hard to trust), and social cognitive dissonance style of communication with most humans. This story really offered a better way of connecting.
This was a powerful, potent, beautifully acted short film. I was deeply touched by it. Everyone deserves an Award! 😁 Thank you so much for creating this special piece 🙏🏼
DAMN GOOD. And with a VERY unpredictable ending... Slams a LOT of emotions thru you in the perfect order, wrapping it all up with... well...... The UNexpected... Minnows was a PERFECT name. Beautifully done people - Beautifully done!!!!
He lied about the man in the photograph being his brother because he was worried that she'd reject him just the way his family had.

My heart broke several times during this video 🥰😭😭😭😭😭 but it is truly a beautiful testament to human connection
or brother?
@@kdcema57 no, husband. Crucial to the film's plot and meaning.
@@kdcema57 He lied about the man in the photograph being his brother because he was worried that she'd reject him just the way his family had.
@@VeretenoVids OMG yeah! This film is waaay smartly crafted.
Degenerate
wow what a beautiful love story , a movie based on this would be amazing too. the ending had me in floods of tears .
What a well-crafted, beautiful film.
What a beautiful story of connection and compassion…
Life is really more rich when we as humans connect with souls to souls... vs what we have now.. which is mainly about clicks, appearances, Quid Pro Quo transactional human relationships, and bully culture. This story really was well crafted in a tender manner and offered hope to those who are seeking to connect with humanity on a energetic level. This really moved me to pause and think about my superficial connections with people.. from work, family (yes family of bullies makes it hard to trust), and social cognitive dissonance style of communication with most humans. This story really offered a better way of connecting.
I can so relate on so many levels. Not pushy, or overdone. Appreciate the story. The intimacy
This was a powerful, potent, beautifully acted short film. I was deeply touched by it. Everyone deserves an Award! 😁
Thank you so much for creating this special piece 🙏🏼
Mesmerizing. This old lady was thoroughly impressed.
Dont call her old lady. She is not old
@@contendcontemd2179the person is calling themselves old, not the actress.
DAMN GOOD.
And with a VERY unpredictable ending...
Slams a LOT of emotions thru you in the perfect order, wrapping it all up with... well...... The UNexpected...
