I had my tonsils removed in 2002. The anaesthesia I had was in the operating room. It was highly recommended to me to not consume ice cream or pudding as they are dairy-based, which is thicker that popsicles when they melt and it could have caused issues with healing and my stitches (yes, I had stitches).

Hi, don’t worry everything going to be okay I forgot to update the comment, well they’ve rescued me before I leave this world for ever 😀for your information I did it at age 23 it was last March 2024 and the surgery type was Coblation technique and it get to be dangerous by the older ages rather than the kids for example the bleeding happened 2 times the first one was small and the second i was almost losing my life, so don’t worry it’s going be okay just keep him drinking cold water with ice cream and popsicles and stay away from the hard food and banana, and the acid fruits and if you noticed a small amount of blood take him to emergency quickly but according to his age it will be fine and easy recovery, I hobe he get well soon 🤍

@@jessmt3265it depends, I had the surgery when I was young, I barely bled but that’s because they told me to stay away from eating anything with sharp corners, it also depends on how the body, I threw up a lot after surgery and during the healing process which is a big big big no no. I’m thankful I didn’t bleed but if it does start bleeding keep track if it doesn’t stop after a couple of hours it doesn’t hurt to contact the doctor.

I had my tonsils taken out when I was 19 and its a lot more painful when you're an adult than went you're a little child... two or three weeks after my tonsils were removed . I started having a hemorrhage. my dad took me to our local hospital.. and they couldn't do anything for me.. so he drove me all of the 20 miles back on a little country road..... back to the hospital that did my surgery.. so they tried to stitch it up i.n they said I lost 40% of my blood ....and I passed out and they said my veins and arteries had collapsed .then they put me in the ICU and gave me about three blood transfusions.

I was having tonsillitis from my childhood days, I was going through a lot of pains.
I could not eat, or swallow anything, I was having headaches and couldn't even breath well.
I went to see my GP and requested him to have my tonsils removed as I was going through this problems for many years.
My doctor admitted me to ENT in hospital, I then went to the hospital and was checked up there, and from there I was then admitted to Leeds General Infirmary Hospital to remove my tonsils.
I had a very good Indian GP, if it was not for him, maybe I still would've had them tonsils and would be still suffering.
Many doctors will just write a prescription and tell you to take painkillers, or antibiotics, and wouldn't refer it any further.
Ever since my tonsils have been removed from 2001, I have been a very, very healthy person and have never been a weak person as I used to be.
God bless my GP for referring me to ENT
