The process is relatively simple:
1️⃣ Adsorption: No, that's not misspelled. ADsorption is the process of bonding water molecules to the surface of the desiccant material. Desiccants like silica gel hold moisture molecules like a magnet, effectively removing excess humidity from the air.
2️⃣ Regeneration: Once saturated, the desiccant needs to release the captured moisture. A heated airstream is used to release moisture from the desiccant material, restoring it's ability to adsorb moisture.
3️⃣ Continual Dehumidification: The cycle repeats, ensuring a constant balance of humidity levels. This innovative approach is not only energy-efficient but ideal for various applications, from industrial processes to creating a comfortable indoor environment.
