    The end of that game sums it all up. Caleb throws an insane pass to Odunze to get 1st and 10 on the Seahawks side of the field. Then, they struggle to get a play in and call a time out with 31 seconds left instead of just calling a time out @ 44 seconds after the catch by Odunze. They go nowhere and Caleb throws an INT on 4th and 10. Abysmal. Who is in charge? Who is calling plays? Why no screen? Why no shallow crossers to eek out a few yards to set up a makeable FG to at least tie?

    I'm not a Caleb Williams fan but it must be said; Caleb Williams is not the problem in Chicago. In fact Caleb Williams is one of the few bright spots in that lineup. Chicago needs to evaluate their Offensive Line from LT all the way over to RT. While they have some good pieces in that line, they just don't seem to mesh or gel like good OL's do, and they need to weed out the pieces that don't fit.

      That's exactly what I said last year. I couldn't believe they traded Fields to justify using their first pick on Williams. I agree with your comment and other 3 here. It's the whole system on Offense, they should not traded fFelds for Caleb. Caleb is making the plays, The WR are not stars and not catching easy passes, the OL missing key blocks, and not working as a team. It all starts on the line, all the way down in High school and youth football. The OL is needs to be weeded out, the need to go for some WR's talent! Defense is just another topic! LOL!

  • @Xeractyll
    @Xeractyll 14 часов назад +4

    Alright, Seahawks fan here, including a Huskies fan, so I've seen him in the PAC in college.
    1. Caleb has always been an ego guy, we know that, doesn't put a lot of trust in others, wants his way. That was apparent in college. But that side of him has at least improved getting into the pros.
    2. His time he holds onto the ball has always been ridiculous. While it has improved slightly since college, that's only because pass rushing from the defense has only gotten far better. His rookie year he is 4th all time most sacked QB in history. He hasn't been throwing picks because he's taking sacks instead.
    3. He has a great receiving core, though I assume his OL isn't great. Either way, he needs to be quicker with decision making.
    4. Is he bad? By all means, no, he's actually very talented, he just needs a couple years to discipline himself, and learn what teamwork means. And the chaotic shitshow of ownership in the bears org certainly doesn't help, and we know that.
    5. All in all, he's not playing great, but I see potential in him. I've always been someone who's had no faith in him, and I still don't have much from him being conference opponents with my team in college, he at least has a chance to become something.
    6. I heard the constant booing the entire damn game by the fans on everything. Still not as bad as philly fans, but chill out at least a bit.
    7. Regardless though, that Thursday game was horrific on both ends. Both teams need to get their heads together, because they can't get anywhere in their current state. And bears need new ownership, and also need to stop firing coaches every 3 years. You're not helping anyone that way, only making it worse. There's a reason the bears haven't done anything in 17 years. And haven't succeeded much at all in almost 40.

      the bears kicker sucks bro… he’s accurate between from 10-55 yards but as soon as you pass 55 yards, it looks like he’s attempting an 80 yarder… he’s great from short, but you won’t make in the NFL if your kicker can’t even attempt a 60 yarder

    Just shows how football really is a team sport. Caleb thinking him just being on the field will flip the franchise and they would become relevant because of him. (Our punter won't be punting much). I knew right then his ego was going to be the biggest issue, so this is exactly what he needed. He needed this first season to open his eyes and get knocked off his pedestal. Many prospects that are normally outstanding players don't get the time it takes to be who they are because of the situations they fall or draft into. Most become great players due to the coaching and players around them and not their own ability. It takes the others to showcase their abilities and without those others you could very easily become another J. Fields.

    I had the opportunity to watch Caleb at USC. A generational talent. With that said, the NFL is a different animal. As someone already stated in the comments, it can be humbling for many. Only time will tell if he can adjust and continue to develop.
    On a side note, I watched the game last night-- first one I've seen this year. The offensive line for the Bears appears to be in bad shape and the play calling was poor. The Seahawks were consistently blitzing on 3rd and 5+ yards to go, but the Bears failed to adjust. Deep drop, Caleb running for his life, sack or throw the ball away. It played out over and over last night. Their running game wasn't terrible, but they continued to put Caleb in a bad position. I mean could you really do worse than scoring 3 points by leaning on the running game? Seattle wasn't exactly tearing it up last night.

    Fans can dissect Willam’s game all they want. Fact is he has been sacked 60 plus times this year (sure some are on him.), lack of a quality running game, and coaches that seem lost during the game. Fields made the OL look better than it was last year because of his running ability. After they fired Flus this team just gave up and it looks like they are in full tank mode. This free agency and draft better be focused on building the OL cause CW can’t be sacked another 60 plus times.

    The Bears started out the year with promising results. At one point every NFC North team was above .500, even the Bears. Back then people were calling Caleb Williams the future. Then the implosion began. Caleb Williams went from the future to the guy getting booed. However one player is not the only person who caused this mess. There are many other factors that caused the collapse of this team's performance. For one you can't expect a rookie quarterback to come in straight out of college and immediately be a superstar. The NFL is NOT the NCAA. Teams are stacked with much better talented players. Their defenses are much better, their secondaries are much better and are far more advanced. The Packers have had their last two quarterbacks become Hall of Fame players, and their latest quarterback looks to be following the same kind of path. The big difference between them is that the Packers didn't draft their QB and immediately put them in the starting lineup. Favre got to learn a couple of years before an Injury to Don Majikowski brought him into the starting spot. Aaron Rodgers learned from Brett Favre for a while before he took over as well. And now Jordan Love learned from Aaron Rodgers for a few years before he took over. Many quarterbacks have been immediately placed in the Starting quarterback spot and most of them are no longer playing or starting anymore. Ryan Leaf and Todd Marinavich are two more examples of top draft picks that never made it past their first couple of years. Caleb Williams could be headed for this too if the Bears don't do something to fix this situation.
