You're living the life girl, thanks for bringing us along
Every time I watch one of your videos, I feel absolutely lifted up (not just by the flying) :) Thanks for being uber super positive.
I live 5 minutes away from Addison. I would have come over to the Galaxy FBO just to see you!! Thank you for sharing.
I've done Touch-and-Goes at ADI.
When you go to Addison you should get ground transport to Carrollton and catch" Hard 8 BBQ"
Bravo airports aren’t always more expensive- or at least weren’t when I was flying 15 years ago. I used to fly into ORD with my Saratoga occasionally. No landing fee with a fuel purchase, and maybe $15/night parking. It was cheaper than PWK/Chicago Executive, and way more convenient to my destination! There were some challenges though… I practiced 170kt approaches to the inner marker (couldn’t do it straight & level, but could on the glideslope), and I needed an IFR reservation for ORD. I told Chicago Approach that I could maintain 170 on the ILS and they sequenced me in quickly.
Hello Kay, I appreciate your another successful flying by your plane to Addison Texas. I like the excellent video camera fixing in your plane. Kay, My support is for you
Ahh Kay, I've found your content at the right time. I'm a 32 year old dude and only just getting into aviation, it's totally fascinating me. The vast majority of the content comes from dudes my age and above - seeing enthusiasm for this from a woman really means something. I'm maybe a bit overly sensitive as my wife and I are having a daughter in August...these videos make it seem so much more possible that my kid and I may one day share this interest.
Go get 'em, Kay!
I love this comment! I’m glad you’re here, and I too hope you and your daughter can share this, there’s nothing like it in the world😊
KADS, my first home base where I learned to fly... 124.3 for APP, 126.0 for the nice guys at ADS TWR, final over the fast food places (and getting out at Golf if I made a good landing)... Miss that little field a lot. It was great to see you going to my old digs! I'll go to Galaxy the next time I fly there (The school I learned at used Atlantic). Thanks for the video!
In that airplane the air intake for the Carb is behind the calendars. Cessna are in front. Carb heat is only needed if the carb is icing up. The air intake in a piper is always some what worm.
Kay .I take two my camera too .
I’m 42 yo and next year I’ll start the school for PPL. Your videos keep my dream alive! God bless you.
Your the BEST pilot ever!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Fun trip
Nice job!!! Thank you for sharing this wonderful story with us Katie!!! Love your video 📹!!! Have a awesome day!!
Another fun video!! Thanks for taking us along! ❤️✈️
Thanks for watching🥰
I would pronounce it YAYGER (phonetically) like Chuck Yeager the astronaut. Maybe he lived near there?
Would love to see you come to phoenix. That would be a good bravo introduction.
My first long cross country, I didn’t pay attention to my fuel settings and ran rich most of the way , only on my return leg did I remember to lean the mixture , therefore terrible gph .
Oh yeah I have no doubt!😂
Another great flight Kay! Thanks
Thx Kay...nice flight and narrative...
Keep flying Kay !!!
Your videos are AMAZING! Have you flown into Marco Island, FL? nice airport, 20 minutes by taxi to the Gulf. Let me know and thanks for making us smarter and keeping smiles on our faces!
Love the new vid❤. Nice flight.@flywithkay ❤
Yep... just take ownership. It easier said than done, but you get respect with contrition.
Hi Kay! Luv yr videos! You are still my favorite internet pilot!😊
I love how you talk to ATC. You do a fantastic job.
Beautiful flight.
Hi Kay Hall 👋 thank you love the video 💙🤍
Kay flies AND she is having fun! 😊
And Kay is STILL my favorite internet pilot!
You’re awesome my friend! I appreciate it!!
aaaaH Kay you sure make life great with your light hearted manner and lovely voice :)
I would love to be with you when you fly over the Intermountain West on your way to Salt Lake City.
Awesome video!
The clarity and precision of your flying show me that you started when you were 15 am I right? I soloed on my 15th birthday , love your energy, I'm 73 and have my Aviation medical, I love your Vlog as much as any 🥰
No, I actually got into aviation after I turned 22!😂 that’s awesome that you soloed so early!
Thanks for adding the instruments on the video.
Thank you for sharing your control panel. I’d like to see more of that as it helps with orientation while watching. Enjoy your videos very much!
Okay I’ll see what I can do! Thanks for watching🥰
I love watching your adventures! I'm still waiting to schedule my checkride, and then after that, I am seriously considering a Cherokee 180 (or a 235) based largely on watching your videos. Keep bringing the great aviation content!
Oh I love that! My 180 has taken very good care of me!
Good luck on your checkride!!! Let me know how it goes, and fly safe😊
@@FlyWithKay Thanks, Kay! Incidentally, I'm flying out of KAEG, so we're practically neighbors (aviation-wise).
Flying with the big boys..Big airports is scary...
BUT IT'S GOOD PRACTICE...
GREAT VIDEO!!!
Yes, please do a Class B video!
I absolutely love your vids. You are so talented and adorable.
Love your videos ❤
Your videos are good. Don't care for the other ones jumping in now. WE watch yours here in Aus!
Fantastic video Kay enjoy your content and enjoy your week
Oh good I’m so glad!
You enjoy your week too😊
That cross airplane where do i get one that is like awesome.... Oh we are still on we are your viewers 😂😂😂. Ps love your panel 😮
Kay, Great video! Two comments: Application of pilot heat prior to entering cloud might be beneficial to dissipate moisture as well as lesson freezing especially since there was a temperature drop. And after landing, flaps shouldn't be retracted until clear of the runway. Really important when you're in a complex aircraft to lesson chance of accidental gear retraction...not that is possible in your aircraft, but is good SOP. Keep those wings level...CAVU to you!
Fair enough for the carb heat! As far as the flaps retraction thing goes, I fly in windy conditions so after landing I always retract the flaps so that I don’t inadvertently go back in the air.
I do have my complex endorsement though, so that part I agree with!
Thank you for watching and for the advice, I’ll take all of that into consideration! 😊
Might be time to tune-up the paint on that fuel selector. I could not read it when you showed it, as you changed from left to right.
Oh wow loved watching this. Been to Texas many times but unfortunately never made it into Houston. Always pass Houston on the Sam Houston Tollway thats it. Best wishes from Paul from England.
Awesome Kay!! Please come back and fly to Alliance Airport in Fort Worth!
Yes!!!! Please fly into a Bravo - I will cover your landing fee and handling fee. I did my cross country through 3 Bravo's (JFK, LGA, EWR) and landed in PIT - LOVED it!! Keep up the great work!!
On Sunday morning I was flying with a friend to the Willam T. Piper memorial airport for a pancake breakfast. The airport is located in Lock haven, Pa. The breakfast was organized by Sentimental Journey. We were flying from our home airport in Quakertown, Pa. On the way there his iPad attached to a suction cup came loose and landed on my knees. It’s been my experience that that those suction cups can be unreliable.
I enjoy your videos, you really seem to be having a good time. You're flying some of the same skies I used to fly as a VFR pilot, but I'm 67 now and hung up my wings some years ago. Surprised to hear you say you've never flown into a Class Bravo airport. Not even Hobby or IAH? Keep enjoying yourself, that's important!
Love vídeo❤️🇧🇷
Definitely would like to see you fly into a class B airport!!
Great video, I wish I could be as interesting. Here in Ohio, at 4000 and above feet we still use heat. I got in my plane the other day, paint was blistering from the runway, it was up to 77*F, my heat was full hot.
Just so you know you are not alone, I too pour oil upon myself, cowl and or engine every opportunity I get. My cowboy boots are stained by horse stuff, blood and Phillips 66 Victory with the special Lycoming additive to keep my engine happy. It’s a fashion statement.
89° is not hot try dealing with 120° + for little over 1/2 a year and at night it dropped down to 80° and we were all freezing so for me 80° to 100° is comfortable
love seeing gals flying. come up to oklahma city sometimes
Kay .i love watching your flying video every day Kay. I like two go flying with you Kay sometime won you every get up two Indianapolis, Indiana For a visit Kay.
Great video Kay I enjoy tagging along! By any chance do you have links to the music or playlist in this video? Thanks!!
0:33, camera was blown away by the long atc transmission.
Love your videos. Is this your side hustle or like fullday job?
I live i Arlington, we could have had lunch.
i flew out of gladewater texas muncipal when a teen
Welcome to my side of town. Tollway and Parker, Joe's pizza is a great place to get a bite. It's not far from Addison.
Next time you go to Addison airport there is a great hamburger restaurant at the south end of the airport.
I've never seen anyone enjoy turbulence as much as you. I think you born to be CFI.
Hi, Thank you for your videos. Have you ever thought about flying to canada. Linda warnke
Class B: You could perform a missed approach (fly-by) so you get the full experience of a class B approach to then fly down the entire length of the runway @50' AGL and maybe not be charged?
Maybe, but if I’m going to do it, I’m going to commit!
@@FlyWithKay OK Go for it Girl! Upon gaining permission to enter class B are you going to inform them that this is your 1st time in class B? I think your fan base would be very-very impressed if you did. Cheers: Robert
You hit on something that I don't think anyone talks about. Could you do a video on the costs of landing in the different levels of airports. Like, how much is it to fly into a class Bravo airspace. People talk about the cost of owning a plane with things like annuals, maintenance and fuel but nothing no the cost of landing the plane when you are away from your home base. For instance, how much is it to store a plane, what fees are for landing your plane and such. I don't thing those costs are talked about in plane ownership.
Niceeeee
Poor man's flight instruction. Good job! Please add one more item to your pre-flight checklist. Where do I land if the engine quits at the end of the runway?
One of our pilots with 20 plus years of experience had this happen to him. He made the impossible turn and landed on a parallel runway. All he remembers is
thinking about was keeping my airspeed.
Thanks! I actually do do that, I just don’t include it in these videos. Thanks for sharing the story, glad to hear he was okay!
I am in the Toronto Canada area. I am a student pilot would love to have you as an instructor and fly with you if you are ever up here.
❤
I am a student pilot and l would like to fly with you, l am in Dallas just ten minutes away of Addison airport.
Fly up to chesterfield mo
Just discovered your videos. I am a returning pilot after many years off. I working on my BFR and have transitioned from always flying Cessna 172's to a Piper Archer. One thing I find odd is going from a plane with a door on both passenger and pilot side to no door on the pilot side. It seems to me that in an emergency landing this is somewhat of a safety issue. Am I being irrational or are you technically more safe with a door on both sides?
I still need to know what app do you use as a flight plan and map
Second like🎉
What cameras do you use and do you connect the audio?
What is carb heat for?
Next time you are at ADS, let me know i can show you the beechcraft starship we have here.
Oh very cool!
👍🤘 ✈️
How about packing a couple bottles of water in with your a/c?
I don’t have ac😊
I thought you had the cooler thing filled with ice that blew cool air. Was that a joke? You could put containers of drinks in that.
And you are STILL my favorite internet pilot ❤️
Maybe pack a trail mix next time?
I had a couple of emergency power bars that just didn’t sound good😂
class B yes do it!! Challenge yourself :D
Okay I’ll try and figure that out!😂
Hi Kay, are you training any instrument students? I live near KSGR and looking to start IFR training.
I’m not currently instructing but if that changes I’ll be sure to let everyone know!!
How far (distance & time-wise) could you fly with 2 full fuel tanks?
Distance is between 400-600 nautical miles (changes depending on the winds), and time is up to 5 hours, but I personally fly 4 and then stop for gas😊
The sharp turn I was talking about was at 19:23 on the vid.
How many people fit in your plane?
You have your IFR ?
*IR
Can someone explain what she said about flying in the clouds and using something?
And you need a special something to fly in the clouds? I watch another girl but I never see her in the clouds.
Sorry I don’t know anything about flying, I just enjoy watching these videos!
Good question!
That’s all I want you to do
First view
Why does the plane make those sharp turns sometimes??
When I have to switch to a different heading, the airplane will turn! If it’s a small change, it turns pretty quickly, and then levels off because of the autopilot😊
I'm not sure which part you're referring to, but in a small aircraft, turbulence can cause the plane to look like it's making a sudden turn. It's something you don't see in large, commercial aircraft as they go out of their way to avoid anything but light turbulence.
And what was the cost of you flying into Addison?
About $250!
Kay you are Beautiful 🤘
Kay needs to apply to the Airlines. She is a girl and she has her CFII. 🤓
All these people in the comments with their advice…geez
I just going to seeing if can fly needs to be at hot rods car's are family don't believe I should fixing them driving around I built them waste gas race fuel mixture
I dont recommend flying in to DFW bravo competing with scheduled airline traffic. Satellites are a much safer option.
i love yo fly but eyes are noy good now, whats your name
You should have been a Bird you love to fly so much. Birds don't have to worry about motor problems like an air plane. You should know God made the Birds to fly but he made man to walk on our feet. I know walking is way to slow but air planes are way to dangerous because they are made by men not God. You'll be able to fly someday just like the Angles do, so don't rush things, just take your time and live to be an old lady. I'll bet you'll be a pretty old lady and will make a pretty Angel too. Good luck flying and God Bless you .
You need to slow down when talking . It’s a habit you have to understand what you are doing . As a pilot and controller . Just a word of advice !
A controller telling someone they need to slow down when talking. LOL!
I haven’t gotten any complaints from ATC or other pilots, but I’ll keep that in mind. Thanks!!
