- I bought these at Princess Auto but have since learned Home Depot also sells them, I'm sure they're sold in other places too. I opted for the 1"X10' straps but they come in a variety of sizes.

Great video on Ratchet straps.
Thanks! Have a great week
Awesome Bruce🎸《☆》Just Sayin Hay down below😁2 fer $20 Canadian's probly $12 U.S.👍🔥I always get flashbacks when I see ratchet straps. All the zerodark30 helicopter recovery calls I've gotten over the years🙏Good deal anyhoo🖖😎☮
Hey BDOG. Yep, $12US sounds about right. Too bad cell phone video wasn’t common back then, you’d have some awesome video that you probably wouldn’t be allowed to show anyone 😂
@@BruceLyeg 《☆》I lost one of my Cellphones riding Gokarts in Daytona. That phone had some short videos on it but pixels weren't great either. I didn't realize the phone had fallen off my beltclip till we got back to Jacksonville. I used my Sons phone to call my phone. Somebody answered but didn't say anything & hung up.. oh well🖖😎☮
That sucks. I hate thieves
I have had some of these for years, they are great for using dollies
Anything is better than digging out a tangled mess of straps from behind the seat! 😂
I can see those to be handy for certain jobs. I mainly trailer motorcycles and have been an Ancra fan since my teens. I actually still use 2 from the 1st set I bought in around 1985!
I’ve got a whole bunch of ratchet straps that I’ve had for years. I figure this has got to be better than digging behind the truck seat for a tangled mess of straps!
400 pound working load would be The load they can handle holding with tension while going down the road and the bouncing the 1200 pound is the break strength they can for short periods of time hold 1200 pounds without breaking hope that helps @Bruce L.
The red plastic hook caps are to keep them from hooking onto stuff before you take them off and the tag weight tags are for the MTO to look at making sure the load capacity is correct for the strap and load used on . Now I always removed them too till I got stopped by the MTO and was asked where are the mandatory strap load capacity tags 😅😅
That’s what I figured the little red plastic hook caps were for. I wondered about the tags. Maybe I’ll toss one of them in the bag.
They will certainly do the job. 🙂👍🏻👍🏻
Hey Ian. And I won’t have to dig through a tangled mess of straps to use them!
I got a set I use when I haul a motorcycle. They are handy as heck
I just got them and already love them
Those are some nice straps mine always get hung up on something.
All that's behind the cover Is a Wound spiral Spring that holds tension
Wish I could find more of these retractable ones But there no longer sold in the usa and I can't find them anywhere when I got into my truck accident the fire department had to cut my retractable straps i been looking to replace but no body sells them I got mine originally from Walmart the ones I can't find would accept a 3/8 ratchet for tensioning
That’s weird that they aren’t sold anywhere
@@BruceLyeg yeah kinda sucks I like using a ratchet to tension
If you have an Atwood's in your area, they sell them there.
@@MrRGiller not sure what that store is but I live in the states so more then likley there isn't one near me
@@AntonioClaudioMichael It's like a farm type store that sells anything from country shirts, jeans to Stihl weed eaters, to automotive stuff and farm equipment, tools and whatnot. It's a neat little store.
The red caps are to help the hooks not fall off something there hooked On to @Bruce L.
If breaking strength refers to the maximum force a product can be subjected to once without failure, then the working load limit refers to the force that the same product should be subjected to. A product's working load limit, often abbreviated to “WLL,” is typically only a fraction of its breaking strength.
Is this Erickson related to the phone brand Erickson before and acquired by Sony? Was just wondering Bruce.
Nope. I wondered the same thing so I checked it out
@@BruceLyeg thanks
I use straps alot, hey the scratch doctor do you likje it and does it work.
I do like it, it works excellent on fix scratches and helps hide larger ones
@@BruceLyeg I had some never used it, left in shed and it froze solid didnt work after but wondered if it was worth me buying another batch
@@DIYVariety hahahaha I have an ancient bottle of it that froze a few times too.
Does anyone know how you can rewind the spring bc mine has stop retracing ?
These look identical to the rhino brand other then there release tab is green instead of Red
