It is one of three skifields on the mountain, the others being Turoa, which is on Ruapehu's south-western slopes and Tukino on the eastern slopes. The ski season is generally from late June to late October, depending on snow and weather conditions. The terrain at Whakapapa Skifield is divided up as 25% beginner, 50% intermediate and 25% advanced.

We love a good road trip, especially when it's nice and warm in the car and it's beautiful and snowy outside. Looks like a great place to go skiing!

Omg chains on tires! I’ve only heard about those from my mom saying they had to use those back in the day lol. This looks like it was a fun day. But rain and snow!!! 😩😩😩 not my thing for an outing. At least not preferred but it still looked fun. Maybe I will try one day.

Oh yeah chains on tires. But if you are driving a 4WD, no need for chains. But you know what, I never used the chains on this trip. I hope next year when I return, no more rain and snow

Thank you! :) I think that was August when we went there and I think that will be the best time to go there too or at least end of August to early of Spring kasi less people. And go on a weekday rather than weekend para hindi crowded sa slopes.
