You're such a great story teller. I need to hear this. Have had the steps to freedom in Christ book for a while but have been waiting to give it my full attention. I replay a certain season of my life repeatedly and have been praying through taking every thought captive. It would be freedom to not feel the sickness I feel in my gut and the anxiety I experience when these things pop in my head. As long as I don't think about it I'm fine, but that's not freedom but avoidance. I really want to forgive and not let those things effect me
The issue that is not being addressed is rge deep need to help people in the body of Christ forgive. To walk along side them, to help those who want to forgive. Men imho are the least suited to guide through deep harm, someone who needs help to feel human again. Rape, molestation and general oppression against women (in the U.S.) until the 2000s created such deep numbness in women there was nothing left but a shell. It takes gufted compassion to carry these victims until they can hold their head up. Even when saying ' i forgive ' their is often a trail of self condemnation and self hatred just for existing that these women carry. It is a process that deserves the body of Christ's utmost attention. And these crimes start when women are just girls before their personalities are even fully formed. And plenty of men in the church are the perpetrators. Most men have no idea when they speak of forgiveness. God bless your journey if you are struggling.
