Once you get accustomed to a large canvas you will see that they can be so much more fun and freeing. Large brushes, Loose block-ins, and generally they will turn out better than your "smalls" because I think most people (like myself), put a bit more planning into a bigger project. This my friends is a dare, I challenge you
I woke up in the middle of the night, and watched Douglas paint, not once but viewed twice. Sent it to my 2 art groups of students! Four hours later I am getting out my oils and my husband's broad knives! Inspiring, refreshingly different, my kind of expressive painting! Thank you Eric and Douglas
I am lucky that I have the opportunity to learn from the renowned artists through Art School Live. lot of thanks Mr. Eric Rhoads and to all the respected artists.

I’ve been painting for many years, but between raising 9 kids and working full time did not get much done, and it was usually in almost panic mode because of time. Retired now, and still tend to approach a canvas in a rush. I have known about the grid, but never used it. He is so correct that the eye can misplace things. The grid looks like it it’s worth the time to use on a large canvas. Never thought of using such a large knife! I’m sure this has inspired many people to try it.
My daughter wants me to paint a large mountain scene . Thank you for this video Mr Roads! This has given me so much information! This is my first time watching this show. Allana Goodyear

Excellent video. Brilliant idea to get color down with a putty knife and block the painting in. Question is Muslim laid down on panel archival enough to pass muster. I also heard he used polyester. Is that sturdy and how does it fare with time. Would like some information on that. From Bethesda MD .
Fulton Missouri. Love to paint but I have no instructor or group. U-Tube is my only help and inspiration. Thank you for being "there".
