Great video. I’ve just been struggling with downloading Native Instruments Symphony Bundle. It has been not as simple, figuring out and navigating and has also caused my computer to shut down and restart like every couple minutes when using. But I will try this free plugin mentioned here.
All of my Korg, Arturia, Akai and various other plug ins load in a text window. How do I fix that? UPdate: Ok figured it out. You are so inspiring. In GB settings, as you pointed out, unclick, "open plug-ins in Control view by default". Now I can see everything, beautiful!
@@TheGaragebandGuide I've been using GB since forever and I never changed any setting so either it was a "Ghost in the Machine" or I was recording in my sleep lol. Thanks again.
Hallo! Great work. I downloaded the Blue Cat plugins and they are great, I’ve got a problem though, how to show the amp graphics like I see in the video? Do I have to change the settings somewhere? Hope you can help
Doesn't work. Tried it too many different ways still doesn't work. I updated both the software and the computer still not working. I've been having issues with gb for a while
I recently bought anew Mac Mini 2 and migrated all my plugins with GarageBand from my 2017 MacBook Pro. I get an occasional message that a plugin is unstable and do I want to recover the session or quit. It does not say what plugin....annoying as hell. How can you track it down? I also don't like now when you choose a plugin the window doesn't open and that you have to click it on it to open.
@@TheGaragebandGuide So after I posted I found someone that said to enable Rosetta in "Get Info". There is a check box there. I don't seem to get the "recover or quit" messages anymore. But I do still have to do the extra click before the plugin window comes up.
You watch an informative and helpful video like this and that is your reaction? Crazy! If you find Pat "cringe" why watch his videos? There's lots of others you can complain about on RUclips...
WTF? Patrick is a gentleman ,very helpful and if you watch regularly a humble musician! IF you don't appreciate all the studying and experimenting he has done to learn this DAW inside and out then why don't you leave? There is NO need to attack him at all and if you can't understand a nice smooth Scottish accent like his then you've been living under a rock so beat it!

Super useful mate thank you
Glad you found it useful!

Glad you got it sorted - it’s a really irritating issue for sure.

Amazing content like always
Cool stuff thanks so much for doing this video. GB on the Mac is often not a straightforward process when it comes to plug ins.
@@blueser100 thanks for watching!
Thank you for your content❤
Thank you for watching it!
Very helpful thank you

What graphics are you seeing currently?
@@TheGaragebandGuide Probably what I see on my GB, a text window.
Thanks a lot.
Is my computer too old if my download is not showing up under audio units??

My comp is too old to download the latest version of Garage Band :(
Aw that sucks

@@Goomer glad to hear the messages no longer bothering you. Having to click on the plugin to show it’s UI is just how GarageBand works I’m afraid.
I'm stuck on something. Can I use the sounds in Arturia's Analog Lab minilab3, in Garageband on a MacBook air m2 please?
Yes, absolutely!
@@TheGaragebandGuide great thank you. Do you have a vid showing how please?
Hooray. I am old and stupid but just sussed it out.
A big fat rhythm stick… Maybe a little less with trying to appear stylish when you constantly come off as cringe… Not to mention unintelligible
@@Syncrosound8000 Trying to appear stylish? Ok. I hope things get better for you, truly.
