Turmeric, specifically curcuminoids, can interact with diabetes and acid-reducing medications, affecting blood sugar levels. It is effective in reducing inflammation and pain, with a cumulative long-term effect. Comparatively, ibuprofen works faster but has gastrointestinal and cardiovascular side effects.
Turmeric supplements may contain contaminants like gluten and metals, emphasizing the importance of buying from reputable companies. Dosing ranges from 500-1000mg daily, with studies showing safety up to 8000mg. The form of turmeric, whether whole matrix or concentrated curcuminoids, affects absorption and gut impact.

My husband had a HUGE inflammatory response to multiple stressful situations in our life a few years ago. It presented as intense joint pain in his hips. He could hardly climb up in his truck. Walking was terribly painful. Our daughter who is a laboratory scientist and she tested his inflammation counts - they were through the roof. He could have had a heart attack etc. she said.
We've used turmeric for years but never to address this acute problem.
He took 12 to 16 capsules a day for about 4 weeks straight but it cleared up the inflammation.
Our daughter tested him again and was blown away at the reduction in his counts. Turmeric works!!! We're believers and we share whenever we can!!! Some refuse to try but others have done things cautiously and have seen good results.
Yes get safe product but you've got nothing to lose, except getting off meds that have horrible side effects!! ❤ Thanks doc!!
Would this help fibromyalgia?
@@Southern195 Yes.
bet it had nothing to do with bioperene
What brand did he take and in what dosage?
What brand did he take and in what dosage?
So informative! Ive recently decided to put Turmeric/ curcumin capsules in my travel bag along with Advil. Ill give the Advil away and use the TC for myself. Wirh the charcoal capsule.
Nothing " less fun" than sick while riding my motorbike 😂
Thank you, Dr. Osborne.
Have used organic turmeric for about 2 weeks. Started out using it with black pepper..For me.. That was a bad idea. My skin was "burning" for 36 hours.. But by now I Lost 2-3 pounds ( not my intension). And my sore feet have gone... One side effect is extreme gas production. kind of strange if you consider the small amount ?..
I bought organic turmeric from two brands. One has a garantied minimum of 5 % curcumen. The other has no info.. The first one has A LOT darker orange colour..
When it comes to appetite. I eat the same amount of food in a day. But usually when I have my last meal at 1800. I will start to get hungry at 800-900 the next day. Now its around 11-1200. And less "urgent".
Very helpful study, and I've been using turmeric, mostly capsules for a few years now
I most definitely use a Turmeric, Curcumin, Peperine supplement by Seven for about 10 years. I've never had reason to switch to another brand. I only have positive things to say about it. I have arthritis in my neck, lower back, and both my feet, as well as my shoulder. I'm pain free.
Thorne's brand works well with me
I am sensitive to turmeric. It just doesn't like me, what is an alternative with similar results?
Thanks for this vidéo. Some writings tells that piperine opens barrier to permit curcumin to enter in the gut and consequently it negatively favor risk of leaky Guy. Any advice ?
Nature gift
A French Company introduced a new generation product called curcuRouge which they claim is much more bio-available.
12 to 16 a day seems so many
Nah, it's like a tablespoon of powdered, Eat it as a food, mixes well with yogurt/cream/butter, also powdered ginger pairs well when cooking with it. 12 to 16 capsules is loading your gut with gelatin, read up on plant gelatins some seem pretty harmful in excess
