New UI is meh and takes some getting used to but bullet drop is probably the most significant change to the game in a long time or ever. I feel like I get in actual firefights now while people figure out the drop for the range rather than just getting headshot the instant someone sees me.

every new map has less water than the last, and this map is no exception to that pattern. I think the water in maps just makes them feel horrible to play, which is a big factor in why this map is so good. 0:01
100%. i despise playing on stillwater, it's such a horrible map compared to the latest two. Always been a fan of desalles (many have not been) and this map is even better imo. They learned a lot and i think my tier list is actually just the order they came out (worst to best)

Also that being said, say what you will about the old maps, the rivers in Colorado are fucking mean. Few bridges and wide streams, way less terrain to avoid slow-walking. It almost makes gator-legs worth it lol

Once in a while, it isn't constant and usually happens after I have been playing for a long time. So out of the 100+ games I have played, it has happened twice.
i think its better this way. spawn fights are fun but when your spawn isnt fighting and others are, the lobby is dead. this way you get good pvp in the centre consistently
The update would be phenomenal if performance wasn't so poor on my end. I heard AMD users are especially taking a hit, but I've NEVER had issues with framerate until this patch. Some compounds are completely unplayable (Graystone Quarry).
Build my PC with AMD only and my game runs at a stable 230FPS on medium to high settings. It’s only the lower end GPU’s that are struggling which is no surprise. If you’re rig is below rec spec it’s time to upgrade. There’s good GPU’s out there for decent pricing.

@@michielvanmol3529 I would not say a 3070 is a potato but I get a huge frame drop from 120 down to 36 aswell, but only at the bottom right compound. Everything else solid 120 on High settings without dlss. They really need to optimize some locations

This map is crazy, and they definitely had to add bullet drop. What annoys me the most is that they increased the range at which you can activate horses, crows, dogs, and similar things. The new boss is great and quick to kill. All in all, the map is better than the previous one

I like the map, but the colosseum-looking building is annoying to fight in xD You hear people right next to you, but they are either below, in another section or actually right beside you. It's confusing maaan!
At this moment i dont like the new map so much. Longer sight lines bring the fights at the 100m mark a lot of times and it is headshot fishing. The compounds are horrible to defend when more than one team is around.
I think the only thing with this map is it almost feels too clean. I think it'd be cool if over time the map gets more filthy as the corruption progresses.

The new map has a great layout and looks gorgeous when nothing is moving but they really need a performance vs quality setting or something ASAP. the performance of this update is not fun.. i have an amd 7900 XTX (24gb).. 64 gb of ram... an 4 GHz threadripper.. 4K monitor (144 fps).. but after this update i get 60-80fps and in fights it drops down to 30-40 fps and jumps up and down like crazy!!!! It is not possible to aim probably
What Bryan said, but also, +11,000 hours of Pattern Recognition helps a lot lol. Plus its a guestimation based on how much orange you see and game time. Say its 10 minutes into a match and you havent heard any fighting on the map until you get to Bounty. Pretty decent chance the whole server is there / almost there. You learn a thing or two when you see a thing or two.

i think the maps pretty good, looks nice and all, but there is just to much going on, i was 6 star for ever and now suddenly i have big problems seeing people. Also the Compound camping is insane as there is tons of spots to camp from. Buffing shotguns and noob strats like levering doesnt help at all. I think the whole update was kinda whack. And crytek is LUCKY that people only fixate on the trash UI. There are so many problems going on but these problems just get burried under the Anti UI spam. I also think many Hunt players just flame and complain about everything for no reason and im usually more on the pro-crytek side. But i realy think the update in its current form was a mistake.
I absolutely love everything about the new map and update, let the old hunt die and embrace the change, stop letting your (ego) rating and stars dictate how you feel about the game
I do agree with you on lots of points, but IMO the update was great, the UI is bad I agree, but it is not that part of a "gameplay", map is not very good, gameplay is better but that FPS drops are terrible, centered crosshair is massive +, and I feel like shots are not registering for some reason, but I am maybe not used to centered crosshair yet so I might be wrong

Sry but its a boring map. Nothing happens. No one is in the Caves. Never have an fight in the Cave and most of the time nothing happens on the map just after banshing. The map is soo boring i liek the art style and the feeling but its rly bad. Too many way inside the Boss room makes it imposblie to defend.
Best map. For suuure. Thousands spots on every compound from where you can get shot is certainly a distinct sign of a good map. And don't forget about multiple layers of VERTICALLITY.

After playing for a while, I think this is the worst map in hunt. It's beautifull but I don't think it suits the game, I get the feeling I'm playing skyrim with all the running. They should try shorter maps. Compounds have way too many entrances, not much room for movements during fights, except outside where verticality messes up things even more with bullet drop and as a solo I don't want to spend much time outside to lose the only revive attempt available.
You're meant to be running. You're not meant to always run straight into players every 10 seconds. That's the point in the map size and all the other maps are horizontal without much change Verticality is nice, it adds something to the game and changes the gameplay options. Shorter, flatter maps would just ruin the game.
for now they made it the only map in rotation for a month so older players dont have to wait it to come up randomly. Then they will re-add updated versions of the three old maps.

Once you own them, you equip them for 100 hunt dollars exactly like the normal ones. They come with 3 random traits, which is pretty good for that money and you get to play with a cool skin. If you die you will loose your hunter, but can buy him again for 100 hunt dollars.
@@AnellornXIVif you mean the skins, then someone fooled you i guess. Skins dont have different stats or anything, they just look different. Rareties dont change anything, theyre only added to show that skin x "has more work put into" then skin y, means maybe it looks a bit better and has more Details. But other then that a more rarer skin doesnt change anything. Only some skins are a little bit harder to see, but that hasnt to do anything with rarity. And you buy the skins once with real money (for bloodbonds or the dlc packs with just real cash) and then you unlocked this skin and you can choose it when you recruit new hunter in the future. For this just go to recruit hunter (not free hunter) and then choose the skin you want and buy it (every hunter gets 3 different random traits)

Performance is so bad look at the fps lol and even when it's 170 fps it still looks as if it stutters. In my experience, the only way for the new update to be smooth is with gsync on, vsync on from NVCP, low latency mode on ultra, frame capped at 141 on 144 monitor. Smooth

YES, the suck so much its crazy how many shills they have just because the core game is good. Mismanaged bugfest for 6 years. Still developed like its an early access game. This game in a giant experiment. So utterly incompetent devs or super understaffed. 6+ going and every single update new bugs. Trap bugs for weeks/months still not fully fixed with last version, I bet still bugged now. Reload bugs FOR YEARS. Left side peekers advantage FOR YEARS. I already called it but even I underestimated how incompetent they are. I though at least the new UI would be somewhat good but NOOOOOO after 6 years of one of the wost UIs ever they managed to make it worse in some areas and better in others. Literally removing basic things like reverse sorting. Atrociously bad UX. YOu can not remove a trait unless its part of your current filter setting, you can not make up how bad they are at the UX. Horizontal layouts and hunters WTF. Seriously its like someone works against them at their own company.

Water and swamps were initially a part of aesthetics hunt aimed for, but they actually suck to play in practice, pretty funny.

I use GeForce Now Ultimate tier to play Hunt. Sits around 110 FPS with sometimes dips to 85. Everything on max settings.

The game is unplayable for me. I went from 150 stable fps to walking to certain middle parts of the map and going sub 50 fps and it never recovers.

Not sure if they patched it, but previously you could fire a shot and instantly switch weapons to cancel the burst
@@Highsen They patched that like... patches ago, but in this one is audio cut off, probably got something to do with the new audio update. They still shoot a full 3 burst

i think the maps pretty good, looks nice and all, but there is just to much going on, i was 6 star for ever and now suddenly i have big problems seeing people. Also the Compound camping is insane as there is tons of spots to camp from. Buffing shotguns and noob strats like levering doesnt help at all.
I think the whole update was kinda whack. And crytek is LUCKY that people only fixate on the trash UI. There are so many problems going on but these problems just get burried under the Anti UI spam. I also think many Hunt players just flame and complain about everything for no reason and im usually more on the pro-crytek side. But i realy think the update in its current form was a mistake.

I do agree with you on lots of points, but IMO the update was great, the UI is bad I agree, but it is not that part of a "gameplay", map is not very good, gameplay is better but that FPS drops are terrible, centered crosshair is massive +, and I feel like shots are not registering for some reason, but I am maybe not used to centered crosshair yet so I might be wrong
@@phxerg9779 Sure i personaly dont care for the crosshair but i can see it being a plus. Should have happend way before but its still a plus. Some shots are 100% not registering. Lagspikes are crazy. Overall fps Problems are crazy bad, the map can be as good as possible, doesnt realy count if i cant play it because the new engine gives -60fps all the time even with upsacling on and the loss of Details... there is so much more shit going on.

Sry but its a boring map. Nothing happens. No one is in the Caves. Never have an fight in the Cave and most of the time nothing happens on the map just after banshing. The map is soo boring i liek the art style and the feeling but its rly bad. Too many way inside the Boss room makes it imposblie to defend.

Best map. For suuure. Thousands spots on every compound from where you can get shot is certainly a distinct sign of a good map. And don't forget about multiple layers of VERTICALLITY.
Is having more angles to use a bad thing? Not having enough options was a massive problem on the previous maps.
Sounds like a big skill issue to me, finding new wacky angles is the best thing about this map

You can go on his twitch channel when hes live and there is a chat command you can use, im which a bot will show you a short clip of rachta showing his settings. But for the most part he has almost everything on low, dont has dlss or something on

After playing for a while, I think this is the worst map in hunt. It's beautifull but I don't think it suits the game, I get the feeling I'm playing skyrim with all the running. They should try shorter maps. Compounds have way too many entrances, not much room for movements during fights, except outside where verticality messes up things even more with bullet drop and as a solo I don't want to spend much time outside to lose the only revive attempt available.
You're meant to be running. You're not meant to always run straight into players every 10 seconds. That's the point in the map size and all the other maps are horizontal without much change
Verticality is nice, it adds something to the game and changes the gameplay options.
Shorter, flatter maps would just ruin the game.
After 1 month I still don't enjoy this map. Will avoid it unless it's to join a game get some points and extract. Also too much vegetation.

for now they made it the only map in rotation for a month so older players dont have to wait it to come up randomly. Then they will re-add updated versions of the three old maps.

@@AnellornXIVyou mean legendary hunters, right? You can buy them with real money or with bloodbonds you can get trough playing. Once you own them, you equip them for 100 hunt dollars exactly like the normal ones. They come with 3 random traits, which is pretty good for that money and you get to play with a cool skin. If you die you will loose your hunter, but can buy him again for 100 hunt dollars.
@@AnellornXIVif you mean the skins, then someone fooled you i guess. Skins dont have different stats or anything, they just look different. Rareties dont change anything, theyre only added to show that skin x "has more work put into" then skin y, means maybe it looks a bit better and has more Details. But other then that a more rarer skin doesnt change anything. Only some skins are a little bit harder to see, but that hasnt to do anything with rarity. And you buy the skins once with real money (for bloodbonds or the dlc packs with just real cash) and then you unlocked this skin and you can choose it when you recruit new hunter in the future. For this just go to recruit hunter (not free hunter) and then choose the skin you want and buy it (every hunter gets 3 different random traits)

Wilderness Pact allows you to sprint and use consumables / tools.

The fact that the top Hunt Showdown Content creator play with extreme high latency with the peak abuse speaks for himself. They are good no question, but if they would play on theire own server region they wouldnt be that sucessfull. Rip skill and fair play

Performance is so bad look at the fps lol and even when it's 170 fps it still looks as if it stutters.
In my experience, the only way for the new update to be smooth is with gsync on, vsync on from NVCP, low latency mode on ultra, frame capped at 141 on 144 monitor. Smooth

YES, the suck so much its crazy how many shills they have just because the core game is good. Mismanaged bugfest for 6 years. Still developed like its an early access game. This game in a giant experiment. So utterly incompetent devs or super understaffed. 6+ going and every single update new bugs. Trap bugs for weeks/months still not fully fixed with last version, I bet still bugged now. Reload bugs FOR YEARS. Left side peekers advantage FOR YEARS. I already called it but even I underestimated how incompetent they are. I though at least the new UI would be somewhat good but NOOOOOO after 6 years of one of the wost UIs ever they managed to make it worse in some areas and better in others. Literally removing basic things like reverse sorting. Atrociously bad UX. YOu can not remove a trait unless its part of your current filter setting, you can not make up how bad they are at the UX. Horizontal layouts and hunters WTF. Seriously its like someone works against them at their own company.
