I went and bought one because of your review, at the time I got a deal on a green one, It’s held up real well with 6lb lvl3+ plates, I love it so much I’m gonna buy the new model or the multicam one you got. Great review, no bs, you earned my sub!
I can see me wearing that whole rig. Getting wedged between trees, then tripping and cartwheeling down a hill. And drowning in a river. Would make a great video though. 😆. Can't wait to see how it works .
I purchased the olive drab variant and attached a molle backpack off Amazon onto the back, took off the right side pouches for better sidearm access and used downrange industry 10x12 level three plates. It snugly holds 30 rd AR mags and my Taurus pistol mags although I intend on buying a more reliable sidearm for my kit. This vest is the best quality I could imagine for under 100 USD
More then 60-70% of all casualties that are firearm related in the U.S are caused by Pistols. the other 30% falls in the above category. Rifles are just near 20%. the rest is Unknown.
My biggest question with this carrier, do you think it will be able to hold real world plates and ammo, and still maintain the integrity to do its intended purpose?
I would recommend just grabbing a couple plates anyway. A couple good quality steel plates are about a hundred bucks for a set, so it's not much investment and you could just keep em put up somewhere in case you decide to throw em in the plate carrier.
Yea I really like this video I got the same one in grey for a deal can’t wait for it to come in and make a review cause this is the exact one I have great video my guy I call us folks the crack in the grass
Thanks. I have 3* USA FLC vests for hiking purpose with survival kits on it. Thanks for sharing this combat vest for down to earth payload comparisons. Have a good day!
1. those are magazines not clips. 2. Why buy a plate carrier rather than a normal vest to carry your ammo? 3. All you're going to do with what you are discussing is give whoever you need the ammo for your stuff. 4. You can get other just as good vests for less than $50.
because 30 years ago that is what we called them. LOL Seem I upset every one because I did not say magazines. Maybe I should of said and these identify as clips.
@@SurvivalSavvvy does it match military grade multi cam you know how china products are they will use shades similar but when you purchase gear from a military surplus you can see difference..
@@DatAirsofttDude ahhh now I understand. The backpack is from kifaru its a true multi cam. The vest is not dead on but its pretty close I would say 95%. Compare it to the pack
To answer Your armed forces question “do we run the plates in most cases”yes we have to..shooting ranges most exercises we have to run our issues plates and yea those plates add a lot of weight
Go ahead and get some plates. You'll thank yourself the first time you're on the receiving end of gunfire. If you want something lighter in weight and more breathable then try an FLC vest. The woodland and coyote brown ones can be found for under $20 new. The shoulder straps are very thin and will fit nicely under your backpack or when shouldering a rifle.
@@SurvivalSavvvy I use 10×12 Spartan Armor 550 Level III+ plates with an anti spall coating. It will stop most threats you're likely to face common service calibers, such as 5.56, 7.62x39, 7.62x51, and some .30-06. These are steel plates and weigh 8+ pounds each. I also use side plates as well for extra coverage. While heavy, they will sustain multiple hits and still be serviceable (an asset in SHTF), unlike lighter ceramic plates which will crack. Personally, I'm not going to be wearing body armor if resorting to bugging out on foot or performing long range patrols around my area. It's meant more for static/home defense, short patrols, movement by vehicle, or if not having to carry a sustainment load on my back. Under these conditions I can afford to take on the extra weight. You may need to have a few different loadouts tailored towards different scenarios. BTW, the money I saved by using steel instead of more expensive ceramic plates went towards 3rd gen PVS-14s and visible/IR lasers for my rifles. It's well worth the investment to own the night. 😉
@@SurvivalSavvvy As for your other question, I would recommend having the same plates for both front and rear to have equal protection. Not all enemies will shoot at you from the front.
I believe he means the pistol magazine pouches. And the answer is yes. There is a big patch of Velcro under the pistol magazine pouches. It's just MOLLE webbing with Velcro on top of it.
You'll be able to do what you said for about 1 mile, if your life depends on it. Sadly, you'd be a ’treasure' for someone if found, and you needed all of it at one time.

Btw I bought an extra one for soft armor, it feels so much better than hard plates. Btw Im in the marines and this is far better than what we get.

Hey I got plates from them to just came in today ! 🤙🏽 what you think of them so far ?
Hey are you able to take off all of the mag pouches on the side? I don't see anything where all of them are off or if you even can.

I'm not sure how old is the oldest marine infantry but I know it's younger than me. Not everyone can carry plates in their old age.
My biggest question with this carrier, do you think it will be able to hold real world plates and ammo, and still maintain the integrity to do its intended purpose?

Yes it does

I am leaning that way. I have looked at alot and still have not made a choice yet. Would come handy for driving though.

No disrespect sir but they're mags not clips.
non taken
good review, and i watch many of them. good pacing and informative. well done
Glad you enjoyed it!
Can all of the mag pouches be removed on the side????? I can only see one that is able to be removed.
yes they can be removed they held on with lots of velcro
@@SurvivalSavvvy is there anywhere I can see this happen?
Mags
I saw this on Amazon. Have you tryed using the shotguns shells holder on the shoulder pads I'm wondering how easy accessible they would be
I used a Seam Ripper and took them off. :)
@@SurvivalSavvvy I did see you say that your message and I thought about doing the same thing and just use them separately if I can
Can you slide side plates in?
I have the same one i like it
The only clips that are in this video are the ones you used to edit it. Those are not “clips”. They are magazines.
Did you ever put any plates in them ? If so which ones ?
Not yet I have been so busy buying hunting stuff. :) After xmas I will

I believe he means the pistol magazine pouches. And the answer is yes. There is a big patch of Velcro under the pistol magazine pouches. It's just MOLLE webbing with Velcro on top of it.
You'd carry a total of 300 rounds on you with a full load because you would also have a mag in your rifle on top of the 9 in pouches.
thx for correcting me.
No SS, No use for a Tactical Vest
I am still playing with it you just might be right friend
