Wonderful video. Siberia is a place I'd love to explore. Sea kayak circumnavigation of Baikal would be amazing. 2 friends of mine were the first people to ever do it, back in 2003.
Been watching several of your videos today.
Cheers from Thunder Bay Ontario (Lake Superior).

Olkhon is the most famous place on Baikal, so hardly underrated, but definitely an amazing, unforgettable place. I was there about 4 years ago with my two youngest kids, my niece and my father in law. Watching your video brings back amazing memories. For instance the sunrises. So thanks for reminding me of one of our most memorable trips. We started in Ulan Ude and spent a few days there and a few on the East bank of Baikal. Then we took a small speedboat to Olkhon, about 2.5 hours. You should also go to Kamchatka, Altai and Kavkaz.

Alina what do all those ribbons on the tree at 6:20 signify?
It would cool to also visit nearby Ulan-Ude which has many famous Buddhist temples.

Hi, Avarua59. Shamanism and Buddhism are sometimes unified or mixed their world to interpret the principle historically. My country actually divided them into two legally in the middle of 19 century. Even though there are various theories on a radical principle, those ribbons are one of important Buddhism ritual items that express both each part of Buddha’s body and Buddhism Cosmos with 5 colors. In this case, as for my opinion, Lake Baikal area has many indigenous people of rare Buddhists in Russia. So, they use vivid colors one as a reason for a strong windy climate, Tibetan in Himalaya use flags, and other Buddhism countries use 5 colors screen to signify the philosophy as well. This explanation may not always accurate. FYI "All is vanity."
