Dear K., keep on staying healthy and happy about your options. Greetings from Germany, M.
In the mid 1960s, my family lived for a time on Brighton 12th Street and Brighton Beach Avenue before moving to Bensonhurst. I'm in the rural Midwest these days, and these videos are a total delight for me. Thank you so much!
Resting here on the couch drinking some Kava Tea watching this video here in the Midwest in Detroit before I go off to sleep. I always enjoy watching your videos because as your walking, cycling, taking the subway to different locations for some reason it makes me feel like I’ve actually been to to those locations in NYC without ever traveling there. Chicago is our NYC of the Midwest-Great Lakes even though it’s not as big as NYC and that’s good enough for me. Keep up the good work with these videos..God bless!
You again? What a fun. - I think this is an area in which not many tourists would go for a walk. It is very nice that you also introduce such areas. - TNX - - - I remember that you have already walked around this area. But not in such a beautiful atmospheric mood.
51:28 - Corbin Place. Named For Austin Corbin, the guy who built the LIRR. The LIRR's First route was actually a Train to manhattan beach. It was a separate line that ran next to the Brighton line and crossed at the foot bridge you walked over. The line was demolished and houses built. But if you look at neck road and some other places you can see remnants of it!
Thanks for the enlightening walk, actionkid.. Manhattan Beach seems so very serene and peaceful in the early morning hours. What i found most interesting was towards the end when you passed Margaret Corbin Pl and Street. Here is what is written about this patriotic woman...Margaret Corbin..".During the British-Hessian attack on Fort Washington, 16 November 1776, Margaret Corbin was wounded when she filled the post of her husband John Corbin who was killed while loading artillery. The first woman to fight as a soldier in the Revolutionary War. She is buried at West Point.."... There is Margaret Corbin Circle off Ft Washington Avenue before one enters Ft Tryon Park near the Cloisters , in Upper Manhattan.. Keep up the great work....
Nice and are pretty quiet neighborhoods. Most people are shocked that not all of NYC is wall to wall people in areas such as Times Square/Mid Town or downtown (lower) Manhattan!
Another great walk with some interesting housing styles - would have loved to wander down some of the neighborhood side streets but then your video would have been an hour or 2 longer (which would have been just fine)
Nice video ActionKid. Right up there with your snowstorm walks and "golden hour" walk down 5th Ave in January 2019. I use to work a midnight to 8 shift. A lot of stuff most people never see occurs between 4am and 7am. Such as the Daily News being dropped by a truck onto the street, etc. Great work as usual!!
I am a big fan of your channel, am a 70 years old from Puerto Rico who is being visiting NY since I was a kid. keep your excellent work If I visit again will like to meet you and if possible to walk with you during one of your filmings. I walk through this neighborhood everyday, and im disappointed you didn't go through local streets. There are amazing houses and most of all, peace and silence in Brooklyn
Hello ActionKid - Will you be going back to Staten Island? The new Empire Outlets right by the ferry is now open (except the food court until July). Be nice to see a walking tour by the court house and around St. George as well. Hope you consider at some time :)
Im going to NYC for the first time in a week! I want to walk this spot at sunrise, what time did you begin this walk at approximately??? Thanks for the great video!
