  • If you've ever been interested in health education, it's role in mental health, or looking for a new and exciting credential, check out this video! People often ask me about my MCHES credential which stands for Master Certified Health Education Specialist. It's issued by the National Commission for Health Education Credentialing, Inc (NCHEC). There is also a Certified Health Education Specialist credential. In this video, I chat with my friend Shayla Anderson who also earned the MCHES credential as we talk about how to get it, tips for the exam, and what it's done for our careers, both of us being public health/mental health hybrids! Once you're done watching, check out the NCHEC website to learn more! - www.nchec.org/

Hey y’all!!! I love this discussion. After years I finally passed the CHES exam recently and going for MCHES April 2023. Everything you all are discussing so relevant, and love the impact.
One thing I’d like to comment on though is your CHES and or MCHES although does not license you like a LSW or LCSW, on the practitioner side of credentialed health educators is motivational interviewing and still being able to leverage the credential to provide behavior change modification like in Diabetes, Asthma and even obesity coaching. Also now with modifications to CPT Codes under AMA we can bill as health coaches, which in my opinion fits under mental health perspectives.
