The guitar riff pitches you're sounding out echo Asami's rising motive at the end of Judgment Day. I guess technically Judgement Day is placed after Dissonance on the album, so Judgment Day's final vocal phrases will sound like a slowed-down echo of the guitar riff in Dissonance. A nice melodic tie-in. I wonder if it will be others on this album.
@@davidarcus5131 Actually Judgement Day is track 2, Dissonance is track 9. BTW Spirit Lives On is track 3, so it comes after the outro to Judgement Day. All the compostions musicwise are Mao ones so far. None of Miyako's have dropped yet.
"this is not the end" sounds so glorious and triumphant. "dissonance" is for me their best song yet. it´s a fact: they are back, better, stronger faster and fitter than ever.
LOVEBITES released one each of their of Heavy Metal Trifecta arsenal. Speed/Power/Thrash Metal is their domain and no one else comes close. HArdeR loUder aNd fAster 🥁⭐🏆
Thank you. Seriously. Thank you. I’m not a musician, but neither am I deaf. I have had quite a few tussles with fellow Lovebites fans who seem unable to hear what you and I can hear in “The Spirit Lives On”. Note the comments below, it’s barely mentioned. Their loss. Wave, I want to make a bold statement, one I’ve been making since the first release from the album. The album Judgement Day is going to be the “Sergeant Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band” of metal. No joke. This band is light years ahead of anything else either now or in the past. Fantastic reaction. The joy on your face is priceless to diehard Lovebites fans like me.
Well, everyone is entitled to their opinion and fans shouldn't feel obliged to love everything a band puts out. But I also didn't really understand the more divisive reactions to The Spirit Lives On. I really liked it from the first listen and Asami in particular sounds fantastic on it. Maybe it being revealed right after Judgement Day hurt it a bit, but people really should give it another listen, because it's worth it.
@@chrisbergsten1429 I don't know. Lovebites are primarily a power metal band, at the end of the day, albeit a quite diverse one with a rather unique sound. So naturally lots of Lovebites fans also like power metal a lot. And I also love Galneryus for that matter. Incredible, super technical band. Plus there are some very heavy Galneryus songs that aren't really power metal at all. Syu is one of my favourite guitarists.
Yes, very classical feeling from "The spirit lives on". This song just instantly jumped into my top 10 Lovebites songs. Epic and relentless full force from beginning to end, especially Haruna. Can't wait for Feb. 22nd for the album to come out. I'm quite sure this is already gonna be the (my) metal album of the year. And if it was for the hype, it definitely worked for me🤘🏻🙂
Fantastic analysis as usual. You always manage to point out some of the many great details they put into their music. Like the organ part in The Spirit Lives On, which is indeed really nice. I fully agree about the chord progressions as well. And yeah, it is a really catchy song. Great stuff. And Dissonance is just incredible. I've seen comparisons to thrash metal and death metal, but it certainly also has a lot of proggy elements as well as you've said. Lovebites have been gradually moving more and more into prog territory for a while now. You should listen to Dystopia Symphony for an earlier example. That's a fan favourite and would surely make for a great breakdown. This whole album is shaping up to be their best one yet. What a comeback, even more so after losing one of their founding members. I'm very proud of the ladies.
Not mountain roads, but I made a music video to a 56 mile drive (recorded it years ago and thought about it when hearing "Dissonance") because like yourself, "Dissonance" just makes you feel that way. ruclips.net/video/FIXo6_yVyYA/видео.html
The fact that they don't just focus on one specific style is one of their strengths and helps to attract fans of different subgenres. Still some people might complain that all three new songs are very fast. I'm curious what the other seven new songs will be like and I wonder if one day, they'll also surprise us with a Doom Metal song. "Epilogue" and parts of some other songs prove that they can also play slow and still keep it interesting.
Thanks Wave! Really looking forward to the album. They are so riff heavy in Dissonance. The time they had to create and produce songs seems to really have paid off. They were just waiting for the right bass player to pull it off. People worried that Fami was more of a tapper should really listen to these 2 songs.
ASTERISM has also released a new song an half hour ago ruclips.net/video/zDiY_e237LI/видео.html It's a web commercial song for noodles 😆 Just like MTH did with "Hungry Pride" or Unlucky Morpheus more recently with "Top of the "麺"" And Gacharic Spin did the song "Shake Shake Shite!!" for an energy drink in 2016 🤓
Dissonance was quite shadow dropped. They made posts hours after it was already available. Full album will be available on YT, Spotify and co next week at 0:00 AM in your timezone. Follow them on Twitter or join our Subreddit to keep you informed. 🙂 Thank you for your reaction ! Both great songs! 🔥🔥🔥🤘🐺🤘
These were released as digital singles pretty quietly. A couple tweets and a few IG posts about them and that was it. I only knew about them since I follow the members on IG.
Unfortunately most of the advertising effort is targeted towards the Japanese audience. We learn from whatever the band members post on social media themselves. I follow all the members on IG. They are not so active on Twitter
Lovebites never fails to amaze. The highest quality music spectacularly executed. All 3 new tracks are phenomenal and diverse. Unlike most, The Spirit Lives On is my favorite of the three.
How dare you Wave! Wondering if something "sounded like it was almost intentionally played...", when you know darn well that anything BandMaid, LoveBites or Nemophila plays is ALWAYS intentionally played EXACTLY how you heard it!
I just keep checking the tracks inside the Judgement Day album on Apple Music. The Spirit Lives on was released about a month ago, and Dissonance about two weeks ago.
I want to see Midori's left arm. I'm not so sure she really works out in the gym. I think her right arm is just shredded AF from her shredding! (just kidding)
"Dissonance" is IMO Lovebites' most aggressive song so far, also as regards Asami's vocals, which I like a lot. I'd say it's also their first song in which they, at least as far as the riffing is concerned, but maybe also the drumming, enter Death Metal-territory. In the comments to the audioclip, someone mentioned that this song reminded him of Death and the fact that this comment currently has got 14 likes shows that this comparison isn't completely far-fetched. Someone else called it a combination of Death Metal and Power Metal. Considering how heavy/raw the live version of "Break the Wall" from 2020 sounded compared to the studio version, I can't wait to hear the live version of "Dissonance"!
What would be awesome is if they played dissonance or Judgment day during an award ceremony and blew away all the mainstream artists in the audience and then some. That would be something special. Maybe this album will do it for them, provided their record label does their job and markets and promotes it properly.
@@kyles5513 That would indeed be fun! I'm also curious about album reviews. There was no review of "Electric Pentagram" and "Glory, Glory, to the World" in Rock Hard, which is still one of the biggest metal magazines in Germany, so I wonder if there will be one of "Judgement Day" in their upcoming issue.
@@MissLoonasSpeech well the judgement day single has been playing on sirius xm every day multiple times a day since it's release and that's a first for thus band. So I see good things happening, again, if their team can pull it together good enough. I sure f'n hope so.
Don't know if you know this, but just an extension of their Bad Ass..ness, Miyako has several pets including an Owl and a Python! How many "girls" have pythons as pets, unless their just bad ass....LOL And we all thought she was a cute little demure girl.
Yes they used more dissonance notes and chords in dissonance (2° and 7°), not only with the instruments but also with the drums into the rhythm by Haruna. Thanks.
What's not to love about Lovebites when you hear these two songs back-to-back? Then there's Judgement Day . . . and seven more songs we haven't yet heard. Could 2024 be the year they can at least nominated for a Grammy?

For me, the song its a high power vehicle trip:

Interesting that both Midori and Miyako played almost identical solos!
Three new songs by Lovebites and all three are so very different from each other. What a diverse band they are. Asami changes her vocals on every one.
