That’s the 80s baby in her talking. Didn’t didn’t used to be such a big deal to hitchhike especially in the 60s and 70s. And unsolved mysteries with all the missing children stories didn’t come out until the late 80s. It’s 90s babies and on who grew up hearing endless accounts of people committing crimes against hitchhikers.

And you definitely need a lawyer if you’ve been in a crime scene, because your dna and finger prints are most likely there now, and cops can only go off what they see there, and your word if you’re the only witness.

I pray everyone stays safe. I always become more aware of my surroundings after listening to these. The second story about the guy who claimed he knew the Bible almost made me sick. As a Christian and person, i can't stand it when people claim to do things for God then does something against God.
I mean, I _don't_ live in a big city, but I live in the downtown area of my city. We get all kinds of weirdos and loons through here, "calling out 2-3x" is a pretty piss-poor effort to be heard if she needed help. You gotta make it clear you're not going away until you get help. You gotta raise a real fuss to get recognized, 'cause of the sheer parade of nonsense that goes on usually, people block it out or shrug it off if it resolves itself quickly. If people called the cops for *every* single alarming noise outside, the cops would never leave the area.... or alternatively, would stop actually responding to the calls. That being said, of course I have sympathy for her. She sounds very naiive and sheltered. That's kind of a novelty at 38 years of age.

Story Three: Just off the top of my head. The lady upstairs was drawing a bath and for some reason decided that she needed to go to the store for something (like tea). Forgot about the bath water running and in this time the downstairs neighbor noticed the leak. In the time she was gone he had visited the upstairs door twice and before he had gone up a third time she had come home. She had seen the flood and realized she had left the water running and bolted toward the bathroom. When entering the bathroom she was close enough to get shocked by the electrified water and died, and this spike in the electricity popped the breaker making it safe for the neighbor to walk in. Sure if the water was electrified the beaker should have popped but for some reason it did not. Remember breakers are popped by amps not volts, plus it only takes about 1 1/2 amps to kill a person. You can have 10,000 volts run through you and not kill you, course it may mess you up or cook you. Just some random thoughts.

I live in Tulsa, And My grandma actually knew one of the little girls Doris and her father. She told me that the little girls father had said how excited she was to go and even took her to buy camping items as well. There’s even a book about it. Definitely one of the most heartbreaking things that has happened here in Oklahoma and is still pretty much an unsolved mystery. Bless their families. Those girls did not deserve what happened to them. And it has even been theorized that it could have actually possibly been one of the counselors...
In the hospital getting a blood transfusion tonight, but I'm still listening!! Oddly enough, these stories are a comfort to me at this difficult time. Thanks Joel🖤

What happened to the 3 girls in #3 is terrible. They were so young. The sad thing is that the killer probably will never be caught, like many killers today which makes me so mad. When that counsellor found that note and showed to the head of the camp, she really should have taken it in to consideration instead of thinking it was just a prank, it's better to be safe than sorry. And then there's the 1st story, how can someone be so cruel as to rob someone when they can't even defend themselves, I am so glad that he was found and thrown in jail where he belongs.

😨 I live in Portland, ME and I have a good idea where the story takes place. The high-school is nearby and it’s literally a death trap in the winter. Even in nice weather it is a horrible place to walk, which sucks for the drunk people leaving the bars lining the streets.
Also it’s rare for anyone in Portland to pay attention to anyone yelling or screaming. Because the homeless people nearby are usually drugged out. Even getting off the metro one day and walking to school this woman was singing opera/screaming nonsense in the pouring rain across the street from the school and no one even glanced at her.
Cars at the shop so I had to walk a few miles home from working at the laundromat. I could smell the rain and thought Joe perfect to find this to creep out on the dark walk home. It didn’t rain either!! Thanks for your hard work!!🥰

The Oklahoma GS murders were TERRIBLE. those poor parents. gene was definitely involved but there HAD to be someone else involved. He couldn't have corralled those 3 girls on his own. Not in a rainstorm like that. For weeks after the murders there were people walking around those woods. The cops set up traps and when they would check them in the morning, disturbed. A shoe that was missing from the crime scene showed up weeks after the murder proving gene and/or whoever helped him placed it there for the cops to find. I pray for the parents. How awful for them ..
I am a bit suspicious of some of the camp cansulers because thay just brushed it off and didn't even take it seriously because isn't the conslers responsibility to make sure that all the campers are safe and the campground is safe to ues and all that the counclers should have gotten fired
