  • Untold Story of the Colt 45 Peacemaker "The Gun that Won the West": The Colt Single-Action Army Revolver. The Colt Peacemaker was the most popular gun in the Wild West.
The Peacemaker even earned the nickname “the gun that won the West”. This nickname was popularized by the showman and bison hunter Buffalo Bill, who had traveled around telling stories about the gun’s divine accuracy.
By the 1950’s Hollywood cowboys were almost exclusively equipped with the Peacemakers, as the gun became a national icon. John Wayne carried custom-designed ivory-gripped Colts, and Clint Eastwood and Kirk Douglas also used the legendary revolver.

This is a timely video, Jim Dunham who has much experience in Hollywood and using guns in movies is the perfect person to explain what may have happened in the movie "Rust" fiasco. This is in plain language understandable by even those unfamiliar with guns and I like the background, looks authentic Old West!

I am a retired Met Police London UK Detective. On a search warrant, we found a large amount of Drugs. In a cardboard box I found a modern made real firing Colt revolver, loaded with six live rounds. The trigger guard had been cut away to facilitate a gloved hand. The bad guy stayed silent, when questioned . To the Old Baily Court. The bad guy got a friend to attend Court and state the gun was his, he needed it to protect himself as he was a drug dealer , so far so good. The prosecutor showed the gun and stated it had been loaded with six imitation rounds and was safe. He handed it to the alleged owner, who thought it funny to point it at the Judge and click click. He was asked to unload the revolver. After a long time and after opening the loading bay gave up after banging it on the side of the witness box. He received three years for trying to pervert the course of justice. His friend got thirteen years.

If there was a feud, or an argument that warranted a serious assault or death, then look at the advantage and shoot the other person when they lease expect it. John Wayne would not shoot anybody in the back, well that’s just stupid. But that’s not the real world? You would not face a bigger stronger person, and especially with some boxing skills . Get yourself a weapon, ie a four by two or a tyre iron. I thought the film Open Range was very good . The bad guy group intimidating the good guys, and underestimating their opposition . First shooting the bad guy in the head, without any warning, not hitting the other targets fully , and then taking fire. Reloading and the chase goes on. This presentation was first rate and fully explains the use of the gun, and the history. I will follow this entry with another, about the gun, and a Court room drama.

Two or more bullets. The actor pulled the trigger twice.
