  • Dramatic little canyon - also known as the Devil’s Mill - is found on the River Devon immediately upstream of Rumbling Bridge village. Visit after heavy rain and you might assume the intriguing name refers to boulders being bashed around in the torrent. In fact, it comes from the reverberation caused by vehicles crossing the bridge; the road bridge is built directly over an older one, causing the (supposedly) distinctive noise. Paths lead along both banks through verdant, rainforest-like scenery, with a footbridge enabling a short circuit
