Such an amazing video, really stunning riding from all of yous! The little chestnut pony and his/her rider did so well, s/he looks like a young one! Well sat on the refusals, I can never sit them! Boo looks amazing, as per usual!
A strong bit and spurs won't solve the problem of an underconfident rider. The horse ran out so many times and was never going forwards into a jump, the fall at the ditch was inevitable. You could see it every time that the rider wasn't giving him any clear instruction, nor did she seem like she wanted to jump either! The bit and spurs only confused the horse more. Get rid of the excessive equipment and learn to ride with your body and mind and/or get a horse you feel confident to ride and stop giving that one a complex!
She is riding fine. Stop hating. If she goes in with any more confidence she'll just fall on his neck because the horse is still going to run out. He's young and inexperienced with XC if you hadn't noticed. She's clearly better than you so leave her and her horse alone. She needed the sorus to get the horse going and the strong bit to get the horse steady because he's clearly strong but looses confidence at the jumps.
Couldn't agree more 👍 he never was going forward enough to get over the jumps and maybe at times she should've given some encouragement with the crop. She seemed to be hanging on to him a bit rather than getting him forward so he couldn't really take a good look and stretch his neck over the jump.
That bay looks like such a nice ride! They seemed so collected and calm going into everything, it'd certainly be a confidence booster towards a nervous rider. The lighter chestnut also looks so fun as I prefer stronger horses but the rider did well with them! I feel like everyone had to learn with a horse like the darker chestnut. Clearly they're not an easy ride. It was obvious both the pony and rider were nervous the entire time, but they can learn from that. They needed a lot of persuasion and leg, which is always something you can learn with
When you're practicing Showjumping, or Cross Country, it's important that either the horse OR rider is experienced with the challenges ahead. If neither are, that's where serious injuries are likely to happen. Watching the rider on the chestnut just makes me feel sick. Hard bid, short reigns, spurs, and constantly forcing the pony to do these jumps from insane positions. Don't force the horse to do something. Encourage it. An experienced rider is needed to train horses, and build their confidence, so an inexperienced rider can focus on his/her own technique, without also thinking about having to make the horse do the right thing. I had a hot, young horse once, who was afraid of virtually everything, and trained her to really enjoy showjumping. Her build weren't fit for more than LC ((1 meter) Danish level classifications), but she became exited when we went on the field. Her confidence became better, and she wasn't close to being as easily frightened of anything, as when I got her. I spent a bit over a year to accomplish this, with countless times just walking alongside her, and showing her at the jumps aren't as dangerous as they looked. Patience and encouragement is the key to training a horse.
i love how much praise the girl on the dark chestnut pony gives, he's clearly quite new too cross country and she did a really good job of boosting his confidence.
Love these horses and jumps, what great ideas! But the rider on the chestnut needs to go back to the basics. She needs to either get a different horse or ride better because clearly that horse is either green or a brat. If he's just a brat be more confident and kick him if he refuses, don't be afraid to use the crop you are holding or your aids. Don't just sit there. He's obviously smart and knows he can stop with no trouble. If he's green, okay, so let him look at the jumps, let him think about going down a ditch. But 2 times is enough after twice that pony needs a kick. After he got over himself he realized ok we mean buisness I'll do it. Reassure him that he won't fall in the ditch. Going down a bank if he stops let him have the reins buy be annoying with your leg and give him light taps with your boot. I've been riding/training green horses for 8 years now and let me tell you 80% of them all have been ponies and one kick and a pat is all I've needed to get them over a jump or past a scary door. Be more assertive of yourself...
Equii Frey all I was saying was that they were both chestnuts but one is darker because he is not clipped ss_eventing isn't making a huge fuss so why do you feel you need to
Ok. I have been riding horses my whole life. Yes some horses need a stronger tug to slow down but you release after. I had to stop watching the video because those poor horses mouths must be so sore. You need to release the reins. I wouldnt be surprised if one day those horses snap and completely hurt you and run off. These horses are handled with harsh hands. Maybe if you released the reins they would listen.
+Kat Stylinson Also- the ears and tails would be acting very differently if they were overly stressed- I know when I've ridden horses who REALLY loved jumping, I needed constant contact in order to make sure the striding was correct. There were a few times over the jumps that the horses' mouths were tugged on- but they really didn't seem to be bothered by it. That's the point of training sessions by the way- the ability to maintain the proper contact without jerking and such doesn't come naturally- it has to be worked on.
Shut up lol everyone has a reason for the way they ride, don't coach them through a screen when they have a perfectly good trainer to coach them. The horses are probably speedy (they look it) and are there for practice and experience. Some horses need more bit contact then others, and some horses take the contact better then others.
Also some horses need you to hold them back and keep constant contact so they have enough power to get over the jump, my horse is that way and his mouth is in great shape and he has no mouth issues from it
Ahmygaash...7:40...cutest thing ever! Love this video so much cause it's a change from seeing other people schooling their horses' and when they do something wrong they either curse, hit or sometimes both. It's great cause in this video, no matter what jump, you always pat the horse and reassure it whenever it is trying to jump something. Great riders and horses!
London 1st She had two reins which doesn’t put as much pressure on the horses mouth, making it more comfortable for the horse. Don’t give them idiotic advise when you haven’t ridden that horse. The little chestnut looks tricky to ride so don’t me mean, she is doing an amazing job with him/her
my favorite riding video so far- you guys work WITH your horses, it's absolutely lovely to watch. Am a little bit in love with the chestnut pony, he is my type for sure. Might not be the best jumper but man, does he try! Very honest, very cute. I reckon when he and his rider get a little more confident you'll both be great.
im so glad that girl with the smallest chestnut pony fell off. she got what she deserved tbh. throughout the hole thing she had no leg on and just sat there, no encouragement. really annoyed me, the horse had to do ALL the work on his own, like when he didn't like the ditch near the start of the video, she jut sat there! nothing to help just was like 'oh ok i don't know what to do'. really pissed me off. who rides with a heavy bit with spurs anyway?
+ThatChestnutFidget Xx you deserve a medal for saying this! No wonder the horse refused so much, it was completely lacking energy and no leg on! Thank god someone has their head screwed on straight!
it was she rode in to lightly then on her second try be would of refused but didnt but she pushed in too hard she has to have the right amount of power in her horses hocks to take off but she did nit habe enough at first then she had too much
ThatChestnutFidget Xx you are so criticising !! Maybe she isn’t as experienced as everyone else. How can you say those things when you don’t know the first thing about her or her horse. You may be experienced but I’m pretty sure there are times that you have fallen off ( like any rider had including me ) which was caused by something you have done. Don’t criticise until your 100% or you know everything. Her horse clearly isn’t a typical riding school push button pony so it most probably isn’t the easiest of rides. For all you could know it could be a youngster or it’s first time xc schooling. So back off !! Thanks
Really well done on the little red horse! So nice to see that the rider just encourages and doesn't disturb it when it's deciding whether to jump or not. And of course patting it after it jumps is always good^^ Very nice vid ;)

Lmfao that little chestnut reminds me of my appy who, for many years, would basically RATHER DIE than JUMP DOWN into water (that bank with the puddle lol) he got so bad I had the clinician at a XC camp get on him to get him to jump down into the water.... he'd gallop through it, jump out, jump a fence heading into the water but rather than JUMP DOWN into it, he actually twisted his body in midair and landed JUST beside the water, sprawled out on his belly with the instructor still on his back like a friggin cartoon!!!! God it was a riot!!!!! Just like how that little nugget would apparently rather half pass off the SIDE of that bank where it's DRY than step down FORWARD where there's a little puddle!!! Hahahaha

nicoleiscoleycakes dude she is trying to ride her horse!!! the her the f*ck alone!
no one is perfect id like to see u ride smart ass
and how do you know he doesnt need the bit ? and maybe the spurs are encouragement for jumps !
Sounds good. But your comment really doesn't fit your prfile picture...
I love that dark chestnut! He has such a personality, and his rider just is so laid back and always laughing. Its perfect
The girl that rides the chestnut pony is teaching him to refuse the jumps
SS_Eventing both the bigger horse and the chestnut you were talking about are chestnuts how ever one is clipped
Did you ride the horse? Were you there? No!! You are not entitled to give advice then
Equii Frey all I was saying was that they were both chestnuts but one is darker because he is not clipped ss_eventing isn't making a huge fuss so why do you feel you need to
I hadn't realized you know these people outside of anonymous commenting
Freya & Viva
Chill, advice is not always negative😕😒
Loved watching the darker chestnut grow in confidence each time he went over the jump. Perseverance!
+Kat Stylinson i get what you mean and it minght look uncomfortable but some horses need a tighter rein or they will just gallop off :)
Also some horses need you to hold them back and keep constant contact so they have enough power to get over the jump, my horse is that way and his mouth is in great shape and he has no mouth issues from it
Wild Silver really?I do wat three doing all the time in cross country
Looks like you're all having great fun (including the ponies!) This is what it's all about 😊
U can't ride cross jumps like parkur, that fall was just YOUR mistake..
she's learning, you can't learn if you don't make a few mistakes
She rode him well and handled it well I’d honestly like to see people like you ride him
Ahmygaash...7:40...cutest thing ever!
Love this video so much cause it's a change from seeing other people schooling their horses' and when they do something wrong they either curse, hit or sometimes both. It's great cause in this video, no matter what jump, you always pat the horse and reassure it whenever it is trying to jump something. Great riders and horses!
the chestnut rider did not seem to know how to handle things when he did not do what she wanted she just polled on his moth which had to hurt
London 1st
She had two reins which doesn’t put as much pressure on the horses mouth, making it more comfortable for the horse. Don’t give them idiotic advise when you haven’t ridden that horse. The little chestnut looks tricky to ride so don’t me mean, she is doing an amazing job with him/her
She did a lovely job, giving the horse confidence over the jumps! If you haven’t ridden the horse then don’t give advice
London 1st hmmm....you must be rlly young but pls....do not be a smartass
She was riding him fine I would have liked to see you try
my favorite riding video so far- you guys work WITH your horses, it's absolutely lovely to watch.
Thank god someone has their head screwed on straight!
ur so dumd do u even know wat the bit is hm??
it was she rode in to lightly then on her second try be would of refused but didnt but she pushed in too hard she has to have the right amount of power in her horses hocks to take off but she did nit habe enough at first then she had too much
and 6:53 oh wats that huh a pat a pat is a type of praise
And of course patting it after it jumps is always good^^ Very nice vid ;)
every part of this video is so amazing, i have been riding for 10 years and i will never be as good as lauren! plus, those cross country jumps, ditches and steps all look soooo big and scary aha! well done :)
The chestnut was amazing! He looked like he was trying his hardest! I loved it when he stoped at the jumps then he would just sorta walk over it! Nice to see you didnt tell him off just praised him!
The dark bay makes it look so easy, and the little chestnut pony looks quite a character! great video :)
Boo's cantering into all the jumps as if to say to the other horses "This is how it's done" lol x Great riding and handsome horses x
all of these equines are beautiful!! I love the dark bay (i have a huge soft spot for bays) and the super light sorrel horse is gorgeous wow!!! and pony looks like a fun ride, the rider was laughing so much!
The big light coloured horse (dun?) ridden by the man is such an amazing horse to watch. He's so full of spirit and energy and just wants to go go go! Must be a tough horse to ride but I imagine a lot of fun. Awesome video thanks for sharing!
beautiful horses! it makes me really happy that you guys all praise your horses so much!
Lovely horses and you looked like you and the horses were having fun. Nice riding, full of encouragement for the little chestnut. Well done. I thoroughly enjoyed watching this video
Sweet little sorrel. Bouncy little bay. Brave little buckskin! Nice job, ladies and horses!
Wonderful riding! I love the way the trainer has taught them to deal with the spooky jumps and the horses balking at them. keep up the good work guys! great job dealing with the chesnut :)
It's nice to see riders praising their horses when they go over something they aren't too sure about . You don't see that enough anymore !
That chestnut had me laughing the whole way through! Bless! :P
the chesnut with the red boots is such an honest horse! boo is amazing as always!:)
I love the chestnut with the lil girl on!! perfect team!!! and that was an awesome fall xx perfect team! she knew her horse was nervous too and she encouraged him as much as she could! love seeing this!!! looks like u had a great day! xxxxxxxx
That little chestnut has the most beautiful flowy tail! So cute!
I love the little chestnut! So cute! And the chestnut hack is such a bold jumper, woww
I have so much admiration for the girl on the dark chesnut, he was clearly not as experienced or confident and she kept up with the other riders and helped him as much as she could.
Girl on the little chestnut rode brilliantly, quiet and kind and gives her horse time to figure stuff out, fabulously ridden.
the chestnut with the white protective leg wraps is beautiful! and clearly trusts his/her rider!
Beautiful riding!!! Amazing, the horses and the riders look happy and the care and practise really shows x
that dark bay has the most gorgeous jump, looks really enjoyable to ride.
Well done all of you - all horses looked lush and the chestnut looked challenging
I love how the horses are all of different experiences. The chestnut seems very new to the whole thing whereas the strawberry roan-ish looking one seems to be very experienced with the course. All the riders did great, too.
I watch this video every day and never get tired of it!!! Ya'll are so incredible!!!
I ADORE that chestnut in the white and red boots ... It's gorgeous!!!!! crazy but super talented!!!
you can see the ponies are enjoying the heck outta running and jumping around, i love to see happy horses
Nice to see you all having fun! The chestnut pony with the red boots is specially cute-he often seems to say "You want me to WHAT? Are you nuts? O...kay! Phew!"
i also love the little chestnut horse, so honest and willing! so cute.
It is very clear that Boo loves her job. She bravely went over just about everything.
boo is loving the cross country! that little chestnut it adorable!
Holy crap I'm in love with the unclipped chestnut! The one with the crazy insane strong bit haha. GORGEOUS! Jealous of those jumps!
im in love with the bug chestnut that clocks on! looks like a really fun ride!
This video is ace, you guys are proper crazy riders, i don't personality like jumping but i love to watch it. I love the lightest horse it holds itself lovely and looks to have a really nice temperament.
I wish I had a horse...my parents are too..poor to own one. I can't have horse lessons either it makes me sad somewhat. That aside, they were killing it! I may not own a horse personally but I know a lot. The chesnut's rider seemed so encouraging! They all match and make incredibly marvelous teams. My best wishes. 💞
You are all great riders and showed a lot of courage but i have to give extra congrats to the girl on the chestnut pony he/she was very unsure of himself but with the ride patience encouragement and praise he tried his best. Thats the way to ride.
looks like light chesnut really enjoys what he's doing :) great job to all of you!
The little chessie pony was so precious! I love how patient his rider was! She kept on patting him and not once did she get onto him for refusing or hesitating! That's REAL riding there!
The chestnut is so sweet. he was trying because he loved his rider and wanted to show off to the rest of the horses. Hes so cute. The light chestnut can jump literally anything!
That grullo (at least I think it is) is so stunning! I can't take my eyes off of him!
The best way of bonding with your horse is praising him for every single tiny thing he does.
This is so cute :) i love it when the chestnut dosent want to go down the ditch and is walking sideways and falls into it :) ahaahaa made me laugh! Such beautiful horses. Looking great guys! so much fun :)
I’m sure someone has already said this, but I really love how these riders are petting their ponies after they do a good job.
Hahahaha
😂 everyone’s criticising them, but in my opinion I think they’re all amazing! They’re soooo much better than me 😂
great video! :) I gotta be honest, if the music choices hadn't been so good, I prolly wouldn't have watched the whole thing though :P you guys are amazing! :)
You all looked like you had a brilliant time! Horses included! Such a brilliant XC place if i may say so.
i love it how you always praise your ponies, such kind people. most of the videos the people just give them a slappy pat at the end. to me a slappy pat is like being hit a few times on the neck.
You guys did great!
The dark bay and the bigger/lighter chestnut (or is it just a clipped horse) where so good and the girl on the little dark chestnut was also great even though it seemed that her pony (presumably) seemed less confident then the bigger horses!
That dun colored horse is amazing! Willing to do anything and so sure footed!! Great riders in this video! It makes me want to CC schooling!
I love the light chestnut. All gorgeous. Nice job!
