if they were simulated feelings we can change them to whatever we want, but since they aren't the real life affect us making us feel what is real and not another simulation :)

Good point, but what if we are programmed to feel specific (simulated) feelings, then we cannot affect them? That would mean that someone can make us feel whatever they want but we can't ourselves, and therefor the simulated world would feel real :P
