I had my demo ride at 10:30 and had never ridden a gold wing ...I was absolutely BLOWN AWAY by it. It got me thinking for sure because I’ve never had any interest in a bike like that. I just couldn’t believe how nice it rode.
The latest Goldwing I rode was 2005 model year and I was BLOWN AWAY.... I can't even imagine how nice and beautiful 2018.... You kept saying the same thing over and over COMFORTABLE.... This is exactly the word... You can ride it all day long.
All I can say is my goldwing I love it a 1999 1500cc and it will absolutely fly Gold wings are legendary They are cadillacs on 2 wheels Not couches Dude !!!!!And I don't feel older at all on mine I feel like I'm riding the Cadillac of bikes
Loved to see something like this from you. Something that makes me refresh the browser thinking the title had to be wrong. Good review. I know you spoke before about having various types of motorcycles which is great to get your perspective.
I'm looking at possibly buying a new 2018 manual clutch GW with no tour pack. I never thought I'd be looking at a Gold Wing,, but it seems pretty sweet!
Total redesign. 800+ pound bike and it rips. Not for everyone but this bike is a blast to ride. DCT mode is smooth like a Formula One. Looks great too.
You won't know what a goldwing is about until you get one out on the road. Doing a quick review run around town won't do it. Once you get a goldwing out on the road, you will see what they're about.
had a friends dad who had a Gold Wing and he would do an annual run with others from BERTS (old Location) to Rosorito Mexico and then all the way to Oregon and Washington State.
Comparing the GW to your crotch rocket is just asinine. Listening to you whine about handling and acceleration was difficult to stomach. I’ve been on my 2018 Wing for two and a half years and can ride it on any winding twisting road with ease. I can get out on the highway in fast moving traffic with ease , and I’m a big dude. It hauls me without the slightest hesitation. I ride about 800 miles a week commuting. I wouldn’t trade this bike for any other bike on earth.
I rode one and I was interested for having one, but then I put all on paper pros and cons : I ride Indian Chieftain 18, and I'm use to on forward controls and highway pegs, Goldwing comes with small sport bike pegs midpositioned not a lot of space for stretching your legs, you feel little bit trapped especially if you wear boots with a heel, not pleasant shifting and your toes will constantly hit the engine since shifter peg is very near engine. Then sitting position, I'm 5.8 and I had backrest on that test ride Honda, useless , you are sitting just a touch forward, or straight, so your spine will not be leaning on backrest, maybe with a highway pegs you can lean on backrest. Then heat, Chieftain gets hot on uppers level of your legs near balls 😉 , on the other side Goldwing is liquid cooled engine, still your calf will be on fire, and seat as well. I rode Goldwing on 90'F . Seat was very stift , not leather compering with Chieftain seat which is leather and very comfy. Then infotainment on Goldwing is not that sophisticated like Indian, no touch screen, no split screen, you have to be in right screen do some command. For example : if audio player is not on screen, you can't move to a next song. And a lot of buttons, kinda overwhelming, on handlebars buttons everywhere, I'm not sure you need all of them, very confusing. And windshield, even with windshield all the way up you will have some wind coming on your ears, since windshield is it's kinda narrow compering with Chieftain windshield, same power windshield. And Goldwing is very difficult when it comes to a approach of certain features, no quick release of tour pack, not a lot of mods to do on the bike.. On the other hand, suspension, acceleration, feeling is better on Goldwing, riding modes. Goldwing is more sport touring bike, where Chieftain is true cruiser, very different. This is my opinion, what ever suits you. Keep riding folks.
shame there was no handling comments /riding a few twisty corners........that's what's important because we can take for granted that it's going to be smooth and comfortable on big Highways
I can come home at night and not have the neighbors bitching about there 3 week old baby being woke up lol. Why cant all motercycles be this quite? Like what is it about the sound that motercycle riders like? Do they really have to wake the neighborhood?
Know your subject before commenting. You commented it didn't accelerate too well, that's because you were in "TOUR MODE". "ECON" will make the throttle response less. Bla bla bla. Doubt you can even ride a sports bike very well listening to you.
It's a tank. They're sort of weird, in my opinion. The previous generation, were tanks also, but they served the purpose of being a REALLY great touring bike, for "mom and pop". They were larger, roomier, and had better creature comfort, for the touring purpose. This new one, I can't see that. It seems too "spartan", and basic, to be a great touring cycle. It's a goof bit smaller. It's not a sport touring platform, either. I don't see it fitting any purpose.
Hey I can come home at night and not have the neighbors bitching about there 3 week old baby being woke up lol. Why cant all motercycles be this quite? Like what is it about the sound that motercycle riders like?
I hear all that is said about but im buying one, why? Bebause it is not as big and more roomy and a more relaxed ergonomics then a sport tourer. So all those things that people say thats bad i see as good.
Man this generation of the Wing is freaking amazing, might be the greatest motorcycle ever built. The old GL1800 is really really big, this one is a bit firmer, kind of like going from a Cadillac to a BMW sports sedan. However, I’m gonna need these things to depreciate for a few years before I can afford one. Best be sure I’ll be in the market when they get down to 10 grand used.
A friend and I went to Malcom Smith I drove him there to look at and R1 he wanted to buy one on the spot. We go in and talk to a sales person. They say, no test rides. Really! So being the BMW rider I am I said, hey let’s go right across the way to Riverside BMW they have a demo bike for nearly every model, try the S1000RR. We went, they handed him the keys and said go wherever you wanna go. He bought the BMW.
tod ok 🤣 haha the people who have seen the video I’ve made about it tend to believe it! Enjoy your Honda! Mine didn’t make it to its first oil change without me having issues. I always thought the saying was “you meet the nicest people on a Honda”. The dealer didn’t allow test rides until you did a credit check. Then I started having problems and the dealer basically blew me off until I got started on the lemon process. Unlike “fanboys” I gave Honda a try and stepped away from my BMW and Honda has their bike back now. I’m still enjoying my old RT with nearly 90,000 miles on it. 😎
Hey Moto, I have been ridding wings since 2007. A lot of other bikers really under estimate these things. I rode with you once on my Yamaha FJR1300 and had a blast. Watch this guy on a wing and let me know if you think the bike isn't fun LOL. ruclips.net/video/37XLJNLpzxQ/видео.html

The windshield goes down automatically when you shut the engine off, not when you come to a stop. I test rode one last weekend. Now I gotta have one !

I also have a 99 I like it better than my 06 rides nicer more the luggage. Doesn't handle is good and isn't as fast that doesn't matter love the bike!

Greetings from Serbia! Aprilia is the most beautiful bike!

Fun review. You covered most points for me. It’s never going to feel sports bike quick or nimble but for a big girl she’s pretty good.

stopped at 15:18 2say 2things:
1) my RSV4 has cruz control
2) i agree, it's new aprilia time

I've had older wings cavalcades hondamatics and there ain't a big bike out there that can touch them on any level
The scenery reminds me of Riverside County. Van Buren Blvd?
When I was 12 I thought my nimble little bmx bike was the Pinnacle of cool. Then I rode my full suspension mt bike, and I instantly grew up.
I wish Honda would put HSTC(Traction Control) on the Base Model(Bagger)!
Good review video man, I'v always liked the Goldwing but it's just not my stile but its still a cool bike. 👌

Butter Dude!!
i believe thats the bmw k1600 that has the windshield that automatically lowers when you turn the bike off, thats to help secure the gps unit.
What's your advice on someone planning to upgrade from Triumph Bonneville T100. With decent riding experience
Didn’t learn anything from this review

What motorcycle record do you use
The instrument panel looks like WALL-E is staring back at me.
My first bike was a 1978 GL 1000..
Clint Eastwood is an "old conservative dude"...
You must ride DCT Version.
What about a water cooled vest?
I’m thinking about getting my first bike to go back and forth from school. I’m going to Uti and I start in December would this be a great first bike
No. Not at all. Its a big bike that weights a lot. Get something smaller and lighter. Preferably a 400cc machine asza starter bike
I was thinking bout that and I gotta be honest I’m a big boy uk I don’t wanna look like a bear on a little bike you get what I’m saying
Parabéns pelo documentário

With more and more drivers texting. Being loud makes you noticable and less likely to be run over by some dumbass not looking 👍
Loud bikes saves lives!
Is this bike fast ? & is it a dad motorcycle & wa the difference with normal gold wings n gold wings tour
they are ridiculous fast. so much torque. gold wing tour has the rear trunk.
They aren’t super sport fast but these things book it pretty good. It’s a hell of a technological marvel, this bike.
Put it in Sport mode and see how fast it is...okie dokie!
If you say DUDE one more time!
Is DUDE word of the week DUDE ???
DUDE =-)

What happened to ride your own ride. Pushing another rider is not good.

Dont review bikes youre not into, youre lack of enthusiasam was very obvious.

lolol
Luis Calles
Usually comes from laziness.
Luis Calles Ask me if I care?
all you did was bash the bike
Doesn't sound like he has any experience on touring bikes...
I agree...why ride this bike when you didnt say anything really good about this bike.

Bmwryder good luck. BMW: Break My Wallet. One of the least reliable brands on the market.
tod nice try... know what’s really funny... I bought a 2019 GoldWing... and it went back to Honda as a lemon...
Bmwryder we all believe ur BS. BMW is one of the least reliable motorcycle brands and Honda is THE MOST reliable one. We do NOT care about your story.
