  • We thought we would show what we do the majority of the time as we don't normally film it.
We would love to sell up and set off but it's simply not our time to do this yet. I admire anyone that has the courage to take this leap and it's certainly on the cards in some form or another for us but just not for now.
This time we sail down the River Orwell with no plan and nowhere to go. Cook a great one pot lamb roast and MESS UP our departure!
    Lamb Recipe
    - 1.5-2kg lamb shoulder
    - 1 lemon
    - 3 tbs oregano
    - salt and pepper
    - 50mm olive oil
    - 2 medium / 1 large white onion
    - 5 cloves garlic
    - optional veg, (Courgette, peas, green beans, kale, tomatoes... whatever you like)
    Hope you enjoy
    Carl & Charlie

Oh we have all forgotten a rope, sometimes its the electric power cord. Thanks for making this and you are more than welcome to raft up alongside us if you cook dinner like that 🙂

Another great video keeping it real, we all make mistakes and I’m sure you won’t do that again. Tried the bread from the last video. I now have a kedge anchor! I didn’t activate the yeast! I’m learning all the time just like you both with the sailing. I hope you build subscribers over coming months. Keep it up.

Thank you mate! That’s very kind to say! No we certainly won’t do it again.. well we hope!
🤣 I have been there before with the bread. Yes that’s a very important step luke warm water.. you can leave it for 5-10mins and you should see a lot of foam on the top.
Also the proof is key, if it hasn’t risen at least double then that’s not a good sign. But you may need to leave it longer.. it will rise at different timings depending on the warmth of the environment. 👍

It was a lovely day today spending it with you. Your latest video was in my you tube feed this morning. Since I am home with a cold I spent the day watching all of your vids.
    Nice combination with the cooking.
You are our kids age. I’ve been sailing/cruising Lake Michigan since your boat was built. Ours is also a 1978. Islander Freeport 41 ketch rig cutter.
We will be leaving our home waters this summer for our great adventure. Working our way out to the East coast, USA, then to the Bahamas for next winter.
Love that Charlie is a Yoga instructor and does things on line. Maybe you can become our Yoga exercise coach for boat life.
    Looking forward to following you.

Well that’s just made our day! What a wonderful message to receive.
Wow and wow. I could certainly use some of that experience (as you have seen) although the learning keeps us on our toes!
What a great adventure you are about to have, it sounds amazing and a beautiful vessel to do it with.
Charlie said absolutely, say the word and she’s there! We have considered bringing in the yoga at some point but are just finding our feet at the moment.
Thank you once again and keep in touch as we would love to see what your journey looks like! 🙏

      Good day Dan and Peg!
I hope you are both well and living the dream. Thought I would check in to see how you are both getting on?
I hope the seas are being kind and the wind is blowing your way!
      Best wishes

I did the same with exactly the same mooring line. Must be that you do prep on the pontoon side but not really anything the other side. Haven't done it since.

Absolutely, it’s a lesson learnt for sure. It’s always the first one I take off now 🤣👍
