Thomas Jefferson in a nutshell: He picks what beliefs to believe and what actions to act on but doesn't care if they line up. Slandering is fine to him if it serves him. He was brilliant, but that also served him in his political tactics in more underhanded ways.
I’d appreciate it if you posted a video about what anarchies have generally looked like throughout history, and what their pros and cons objectively have been. I’ve never heard good reasoning against anarchy except that people are afraid of a world where there is no government whatsoever. I’ve read enough history to know what tyranny does tho
7:12 That is not true. Slavery was a regional issue between the North and South, not between parties. There were Federalists in the South that were pro-slavery and Republicans in the North that were anti-slavery. I strongly suggest that you read Sean Wilentz's book The Rise of American Democracy: Jefferson to Lincoln
When he said all men are created equal I think he was referring to Americans and how bad the British crown treated them. Slaves weren't Americans yet and all slaves were treated like property. Same happened to white slaves in the arab slave trade.
Yeah, he didn't think the president could buy land, but it came out to about $0.03 per acre, $0.61 accounting for inflation. Napoleon just sold all the land so he could get France out of debt.
Funny how now the Republican party teaches all the founding fore fathers were evangelical Christians and that we need the church to have more power and say in governmental and personal affairs
He forgot to mention that Jefferson appeared in many pop culture including Disney’s Ben and Me, which he was voice by the voice actor who voice Captain Hook in Peter Pan, Hans Conried, Hamilton the musical by David Diggs (correct me of his name spelling), John Adams HBO by Stephen Dillane, and other pop culture
Professor Dave Explains to show that Jefferson was one of the greatest figures that he can be featured in entertainer movies and shows, as well as appearing on the 2 dollar bill and the nickel
Your comment is absurd, but your mention of the disney cartoon and the captain hook voice totally brought a smile to my face. Definitely when I was a kid I didn't notice it was the same voice, but I can play it back in my mind..."When in the course of human events..". Yep, captain hook voice!😂
haha yeah the history ones take sooooo freaking long. but there are a bunch of nobody presidents that have very short clips coming up so that'll be a nice break.
Your B-Rolls are really good though! You emphasize the important parts quite nicely. Nobody presidents are always good! Keep up the great videos. -Josh
No, theres no liberty without democracy, freedoom only can be achived as common freedoom throught a organization under a bill of rights equal to all of the people organized under it, with a consittution that grants the bill of rights, the elecction of representants of the people, sep of powers and so on, otherway there's NO liberty, only tiranny or oligarchy but never liberty; only when the people is equal(political and legal) to the others, are free. Robinson Crusoe is the best example, when he was alone he was not free beacuse he was alone under the boot of the nature and god, when he had the slave he wasnt too beacuse he accepeted the slavery ant therefore accept to be slave, when he crowned himself as king the same as the slavery, he is only free when he is equal to the others. Nice vids from Spain!
This is complete misinformation. The true author of the American Declaration of Independence is Thomas Paine! This has been confirmed by computer analysis by the University of Aberdeen linguistics department (97% Thomas Paine less than 1% Thomas Paine). The original document was approved by John Hancock and one other delegate on July 2, 1776. It was copied by both Thomas Jefferson and John Adams. These documents are in the Massachusetts historical society. There is also a death bed confession given by Thomas Paine that he was indeed the author of the American Declaration of Independence!
Hmm... I had never heard of that. I did a little googling and I'm seeing that someone wrote a book about it, I couldn't find too much else though. It could be true! But I'm wary of it. Homie could have lied. And Tommy was well smart enough to have written it. What a quagmire history can be sometimes.
1w is a good night for you guys and I love to talk with you tomorrow and I’ll see what you think of it and let them know yuppie I think we even if hey.
Joseph Lewis wrote the book and it actually has very good reviews. It claims that the motive behind the deception was the Age of Reason and the fact that Paine denounces God.
Where was this video when I started out studying US history in the 80s. There was nothing out there like this then.
Thomas Jefferson in a nutshell:

Actually, freedom is ALWAYS right wherein tyranny is ALWAYS wrong.
All the dislikes are Thomas Jefferson's alt accounts

Who else laughed at the thumbnail
Me
I did not, this guy's not funny, and is a bit condescending at times; yet informative.
i love all of the hamilton fans in these comments
The reason why his gravestone makes no reference to his presidency is because Jefferson came to hate the presidency so much during his second term.
I like your intro 😍😇👍
By all accounts a dope as fuck epitaph
Nice

Why would I include that in a history tutorial?

Are you calling Franklin Pierce a nobody? ;)
@@iammrbeat Yes, yes he is! Love all your videos too!
He's in my family tree.
How on Earth were the original republicans the precursor to modern Democrats? Modern Democrats dig central control. Serious question
That's what I'm saying too...
