Hi Ellis, I'm Juan the guy from Local Visitante.
First of all, thank you for stopping by the place and publishing your visit, although it would have been nice if you told me about your channel because I didn't know about it and i really like the content.
Also, I tell you that what you calculated was wrong. $93,000 Argentine pesos are £74 pounds, our exchange rate is £1 pound = $1243 Argentine pesos.
I hope you didn´t pay everything with card because the exchange was not going to favor you at all, however if you exchanged £ for Argentine pesos in cash everything would have been much cheaper.
Unfortunately, in our country we have two exchange markets, an official one that we cannot access and the parallel one with the values that I mentioned.
I hope you had a great time in Argentina and you can visit again in the future, it was a pleasure to welcome you in the store.
Banco lo tuyo Juan
te banco juan
If I ever visit Buenos Aires I’m for sure visiting your store!
Seems he pays everything with card in these videos, probably for expenses. Bet he didn't realise
flying all the way to argentina to buy a brazilian team shirt is the most british thing i've ever seen
Gotta represent the best country worldwide, even in enemy territory
Does BeardMeetsFood know hes got a mean dopelganger out there?
IT'S COMING HOME
brazlian shirts are hard to get outside of south america. most clubs don't ship outside the country and they have quality kits.
@@samelmudir I copped the Vasco Kappa 3rd shirt, it’s probably one of the best kits I’ve ever bought
In argentina the china replicas are very popular because of how this stores overprice so much the jerseys. Also, for every tourist you should change "blue"rate in a cueva instead of using card to have a better rate of exchange
grande gorras t banco a pleno amigo
gracias siempre por los tutoriales de cómo comprar en china
gorras eveywhere
se está donde hay que estar@@donangel5239
camisetas ladri no para jajajaja encima a los turistas se los deben garchar el doble
Mate I was in Argentina same time as you and went to many of these shops. If you used a visa or Mastercard to pay, you would of been able to access the ‘foreign tourist dollar’ and all these shirts would of been over half the price! Visa converts to the favourable exchange rate on purchase, while Mastercard refunds the difference after a few days! Or western union would of given you the same!
Moral of the story, if you’re English don’t want to get ripped off in Argentina wear a Norway shirt to look Norwegian
Hahahahaha EXACTLY
Det er sånn det er å være norsk🤫🤫
It has nothing to do with whether you are a tourist, it is the same because we know you have money. It is a matter of luck.
nothing to do with him being brit is just the way it is with this kind of things atleast here in argentina, if you see that the stuff on sale don't have pricing is probably cuz the seller don't have a fucking clue about it so they kinda come up with a random number, probably higher if you are a tourist xD
Norwegians are more well off than most Brits bruv.
That shop owner played it smart, didn’t rip him off and now he got a free promo
Oh no, nobody gave you a heads up about the different exchange rates that's unfortunate. Anyway, I still enjoyed the video. And I'm glad you're still showing more content from Argentina.
:)
3 different exchange rates. its really only lebanon and argentina that are like this. unless you're watching economics channels or have friends in those countries it isn't something you would think about.
@@samelmudir in Argentina, there's an official rate and the black market rate. As a foreigner, it is important to know that when you're buying something. If you are using the official rate then you'll be paying many times more. Compared to the black market rate that is many times more cheaper. The difference of the two. even mentioned when you're going to a restaurant or something like that.
@@frankderossi795 western union rate is even better than calle florida street rate. bank exchange is of course the worst
Ellis I don't know how you managed to turn a 60 year old gal from the US into an international football jersey fan, but you did! I LOVE your channel. You have such a great personality as you your friends. Thanks for all of the entertainment, education and laughs. Any thoughts of a Patreon channel where we can support you financially with maybe a monthly zoom call? Cheers Ellis.............Kerry
7:23 it’s a shirt of Peñarol from Uruguay used in 1966, Peñarol defeated River Plate 4-2 in the libertadores final and then Peñarol defeated Real Madrid 2-0 in Uruguay and 0-2 in Spain to become world champions (Intercontinental cup) that shirt is from the biggest team ever in South America, Peñarol from the 60’s was one of the best squad ever in the world 🇺🇾
I don't think so, that's not black/yellow but navy/yellow, probably Rosario Central or Atlanta. But there was probably one Peñarol shirt at 13:47. It's a Nanque (an Argentinean brand) shirt from '90s, that is great in my opinion. “Probably” because it doesn't have Parmalat sponsor on the back, so it could be a generic Nanque jersey.
@@thirtyseven37Peñarol had that type of shirt with that type of fabric made by Adidas in 1966, the black looks kind of washed out i guess because of time but it might not be a Peñarol shirt we never know... since Peñarol in that time didnt have the crest and the Adidas logo on the chest. That Shirt at 13:47 is not from Peñarol :)
De donde es ese equipo peñarol no es conocido no?
Es de paraguay no?
Adidas used to have factories in Argentina, Brazil, and Chile around the 90s and 2000s. I still have a couple of Brazilian superstars from the beginning of the 2000s. if you were traveling to little towns sometimes you could find the '90s Adidas national teams, I found the 94 France blue jersey and a 92 River plate too and I paid like 5 USD for them. And yes, your Argentinian jersey is original and it was made in Argentina.
You calculated using the official exchange rate on google, but using a card from a foreing country you would get a special exchange rate. For example that PSG shirt for 34k ARS would have cost you 33 gbp, not 70ish GBP. The exchange rate is a little lower than "blue" cash rate that people are telling you but with the comfyness of using card.
Source: I am an argentinean living in the UK haha
I can't believe you were here just a few blocks away from my house! It can take a lot of work to get original shirts in here. Most of us go to markets/ferias and get exact replicas from the originals, even player ones.
Hope you had a great time here!
10:54 Bro, it's "Obelisco de Buenos Aires". La Plata is a city 50 kilometers away from Buenos Aires
JAJAJAJAJJA re perdido
The company Classic football shirts’ has ruined the prices of authentic retro shirts around the world. Many small businesses you seen in this video existed and sold retro shirts for reasonable prices long before CFS existed. Unfortunately now they are trying to keep up with the dominate CFS.
Can I know why? I’m not trying to fight or anything, I’m genuinely interested to know.
@@jaimenicolsespinosadelosmo2392 the prices on there website are absurd. There’s many Facebook groups for different leagues / teams that people join to sell there items. It’s all for half the price. CFS is just a dominate force and people may base items they have on the prices CFS have it listed at.
@@jaimenicolsespinosadelosmo2392cfs can charge higher prices because they’ve got a big brand name and there’s the guarantee of quality
@@jaimenicolsespinosadelosmo2392 I would presume that like almost everything else in the world, when you own the (majority) market you set the price unfortunately, correct me if I'm wrong please
because the accessibility of the internet, they’re competing with a company that ships worldwide and if a shirt is £100 online then the shops would feel done out to sell it for less, even though they’re local
You missed out on the Nuevo Buenos Aires on 11:15. He has tons of original 90’s shirts for just 32000 pesos. And the guy himself is a former pro footballer for CA All Boys. Picked up atleast 7 shirts from the guy
Sory, whats the store's name?
What’s the shop name please?

Happy to have football shirt hunting back!
Me too :)
I have just been to Argentina and I know that their currency right now is very confusing due to inflation. But if you would have gotten money out using Western Union, you get 1000 pesos for 1 pound, which makes it really cheap. This is called the blue dollar rate and that is the official rate, but the banks and online currency sites can’t follow the inflation, and that’s why they use a very high rate.
Yes but only the Western Union on Calle Florida has enough bills/other locations there's a limit to withdrawal amounts
That is so confusing
@@StateOfSoccernah there’s loads of western unions in Palermo and recolleta that you can withdraw large amounts from currently
I’ve just come back and Palermo Western Union had a lot of money makes things so cheap
I was recently in B.A and there are a ton of Western Unions in Microcentro, Palermo, Recolleta, and others have give this rate and allow for larger transfers. Transfered a few hundred myself no issue. Makes things MUCH cheaper.. was able to find some amazing finds there too with that!
With credit cards everything is almost 90% more expensive so yeah. Normally the most expensive foreign retro shirts go for around 50 dollars while River, Boca or Argentina vintage football shirts can be upwards of 100 dollars.
Let's go I love this series! Please do a football shirt hunting in Belgium soon😂
Argentina is the cheapest place on earth and u guys made it expensive 😂😂
is not. Not at all. You need to travel more.
@@sulimo99 I indeed need to travel more lol but Argentina still one of the cheapest places on earth. Bro payed double price on everything 😅
cheap for foreigners :(
@@canaldegira As the other guy said, for clothing in general Argentina is expensive as fuck. There are massive taxes to import clothes.
I think that Rivaldo never played wearing adidas when he was in palmeiras. He debuted in 1994 and this is a 92 jersey. The number 10 in that year was a player named EDU MARANGON. A palmeiras fan can confirm this data for you! cheers
Argentina looks class - great finds as always ❤
get Gibbs to make a channel
🔥
7:23 That's an C.A. ATLANTA home jersey (from 70's i think) aka "los Bohemios"... tha 'hood's club where that store is located, Villa Crespo.
thank you so much for the shirt hunting series again!! my favorite!
i was hoping you'd get the Palmeiras shirt - it's genuinely unbelievable🔥🔥🔥
Your video abt RARE football jersey hunting is the best, Ellis
if you change money in Argentina, you would pay less than 50% of the price on every jersey
That's so confusing though
@@awaydaysfootball 33k shirt equals to 33 usd nowadays. You could've bought a LOT of stuff with your money.
@@awaydaysfootball google exchange rate is the "official" rate by the government but nobody can get money for that price because of different regulations so in order to get the real exchange rate which is double the amount (right now 1 GBP = 1180 ARS) you have to "ilegally" exchange money. So the shirts were not THAT expensive. Hope you can come back in the future and buy some more shirts
@@awaydaysfootballit is, but thats the argentinian way! Unfortunate that you missed out on so much
@@awaydaysfootball no its not. you just didnt even invested 15 minutes watching a video of argentina before flying 15 hours to get here.
Next time you are in Argentina you should exchange with dollars with locals because they will give you about x2 in pesos, because the dollar is way more stable than the Argentinian peso
Argentino: where are you from?
England: From england
Argentino: chusmeen tranquilos
The first shop you went "Camisetas Nani" is the absolute worst not just for tourist but for us argentineans. They sell the shirts at a huge amount of money and the customer services is rubbish
Camisetas Nani its a rip-off for everyone not just tourists 😂
I indeed thought it was them when Ellis gave hints!
Gracias por visitar Argentina capo, buen video
ELLIS WHERE IS THAT MARADONA SWEATSHIRT FROM!? I NEED IMMEDIATELY!
16:20, not St. Pauli, but Club Atlético Platense from Saavedra. Currently on Primera División Argentina. We are friends with St. Pauli tho.
Bro this vid is amazing as always! Keep up grinding Ellis!
at the real exchange rate 220k pesos would be about 200 GBP back then. still very expensive. but anyone that reads this going to Argentina - take dolalrs and exchange them on the black market (what everyone does), it's currently 1,200 pesos to 1 USD, compared to 820 official rate. the unofficial dollar rate is so established in Argentina it's even published in every newspaper and tv station daily (they usually have a banner on the top of every page).
This type of videos are so relaxing to watch i like them so much. Respect for all the effort!!
Enjoy Argentina 🇦🇷 Land of Fútbol
Argentina seems extremely cheap when you come from outside, once i went to Palermo and bought a River Plate jersey for ARS $ 91.218, absurd!! Greetings from Argentina!
That's 3 to 1 the normal price, mate
a no, pero estan re locos!
@@vmr1410 He probably converted to the official exchange rate
Love this series. Went thrift shopping in Podgorica, Montenegro (for sunglasses because it was hot) but did spot some shirts, a bit more of a football inclined nation than Lithuania inthink 😂 lovely city!
10:50 its just obelisk, there is another one in la plata but thats a different city
1:07 Is it the Away ore the Away Kit xD
I was born in Argentina, haven’t been back in a while. These last two videos have been great! Shout out to San Lorenzo at 2:41 VAMOS CICLÓN 🐦⬛🐦⬛
Small little detail unrelated to the jerseys, 10:50 that is not the obelisk of La Plata.
That one is just "The Obelisk". However, there's another obelisk in the capital of Buenos Aires, La Plata city, and Google LOVES to mix them up.
The one in La Plata is 1/10 the size of The Obelisk.
16:20 PLATENSE present :)
That palmerias shirt is up there as the best shirt you got in that series it’s outrageous
I would like to see you come to Finland because it is impossible here
You have a Chivas de Guadalajara Nike jersey from back like 1996 or so? It was limited as they only wore Nike for a very short time. Story has it that Nike wanted them to wear hoop stripes on the socks and also had issues with the colors of the sponsors on the jerseys.
that shop at 16:00 was amazing, such cool people and a great selection.
The quality of these videos gets better and better!
Seeing 2 Holland 88 home shirts in the same shop, is rarer than me chatting up a female
Hahahahah, amazing
yawn
love seeing you and ben shopping........
and BEN has the best shirt......
Dude i love your football shirt hunting series you should definetly make it in Türkiye as a Turk i cant find anything special maybe u can help me
There's no link for the awaydays football shirt 🤣🤣🤣🤣 so much for promoting it
Missed out big time on nuevo Buenos aires shirt store. Great shop for legit football shirts
We wait here soon in our store in Buenos Aires, great video 🎉

Hope you guys enjoyed the city
Welcome to argentina and thank you! I have a shirt of INdependiente de avellaneda away kit white with little triangles in blue from my father. Cheers!
You should try this here in Australia
I’m heading to Buenos Aires in two weeks so this is super informative
Nice vid ?? Hows the store of the vintage shirts called
You need to great an AwayDays shirt of your own. Based on the Argentinian home kit. White background, Black Adidas shoulder strips, Pale pain front and and back stripes, with AwayDays in black on the front. 👍👍👍👍👍
i actually went to that shop @ 9;50 in 2017.. amazing selection of shirts. greeting from barbados
I’m in love with the one you are wearing …can you tell us about it more ?
URGENT🚨🚨🚨WHERE DID HE BUY THE BOCA JUNIORS SWEATSHIRT AT 19:20?????
Never seen that palmeiras shirt. What a find 🔥🔥
93,000 is not £220. It’s less then £93, you can’t use the official rate in Argentina. Either changing on the blue or using western union
Even with paying by card if you have a foreign one
Broder im glad you saw all those awesome shirts here ! By the way Camisetas Nani (the store in Malabia) is well known for his high prices , its been always like that. Hope u guys have a great time here !!!
Fuck that store, the wont make money selling that high
Ave been looking for a good quality top of that blue and gold away Newcastle top it was my first football kit I got as a kid
imagine going to argentina and not even investigate about the exchange in the country. like if you watched ANY youtube video about argentina you know that the "unofficial" exchange rate is $1000 ars = 1 usd. and that you never should use credit card or a bank to exchange money.
almost all video is crying how expensive is everything instead of how cheap is everything with the 1000 = 1 exchange rate.
you missed on buying a lot of great shirt for not spending 15 minutes researching about a country you need 15 hours to fly.
Hey! Where is the Maranda jumper from? 🥰 my boyfriend loves your videos

Places close 1-5pm in Argentina. Siesta's man.
I’ve got one issue with the video. The way the pod thing was on your air up bottle. There’s like a triangular shape to the pod and the mouth bit to line up, you didn’t line them up. The shirts were sick though. 9/10 all together 😂😂😂
Where do you get your kit frame case that you have the leeds kits in?
Would love to get my hands on a Pumas shirt one day (hooped albiceleste shirt at 2:41 in the background), rugby shirt or not
