Aerith is the only one who doesn't push Cloud away. When Barret says they don't need him for the next mission both Tifa and Jessie "abandon" him, putting Avalanche ahead of him.
This deals a mighty blow to someone who was always alone...something Aerith sees because she too was always alone. She understands Cloud and what he's going through. The true OTP of FF7.
I like both Tifa and Aerith as characters, but Aerith as something special. We see all that chemistry between the two. I just love how Cloud "Wall" starts to break with Aerith, it´s such a joy to play the game just to watch those scenes.
In the dream scene, the italian version is like this:
Aerith: "But... WE can't fall in love... it would be useless."
Cloud: "That is your opinion"
Aerith: "It's already morning. I've got to go"
Cloud: "I'm coming for you"
Aerith: "If you insist... I'll wait for you"

I'm getting more and more mad at the English translation now. I mean, I immediately understood Aerith was simply tryna keep Cloud from dealing with the pain of losing her. If anything, it's quite obvious. But all these bastards out here tryna say that his and aeriths feelings are invalid because of Zack. Bitch please?! It would certainly help if the translation was a bit more straightforward so at least the cloti shippers couldn't deny the romance. Can't they at least ship Cloti with the acknowledgement that Cloud and Aerith loved each other? Still annoying but more tolerable.

While playing Remake Aeris and Cloud chemistry is through the roof.
He just acts so different around her, and he also lighten up around her. Cloud also more a people person when she around, even communicating and being fun with the kids it's almost incredible.
They act like a Team, you can see it at junkyard with robot arm and Cloud actually tries give her a high five and at the tournament they were in sync.
No one would have never gotten Cloud to get into a dress except Aeris.
Yes. The game creators admit Cloud was designed to acts different around her, indeed. I´m glad in this remake Cloud and Aerith relationship be so explicit :)

If you know cloud, you would know that he is actually an insecure person. Cloud acting cool around Aerith is a Zack Trait ( cloud is under zacks persona) The developers mention it as a strange way of acting. Only when he is with tifa does he truly act himself.

In this remake you would have to have a heart of stone not to fall for Aerith. At first I assumed her kindness was some kind of front, but after you spend enough time with her and the story progresses you realize she is genuine. Then that dream sequence comes...I was not prepared for the wave of emotion that was going to hit me with that. This may be the most compelling relationship/attraction/etc I have ever seen in a video game.
I never played the original, I was 11 when it came out and hadn't gotten into RPGs yet...was more into games like Metal Gear Solid. But by most accounts this remake does good tribute to the original, so I can understand why it is revered.
I love their chemistry. Cloud is so in love with Aerith. These two make me smile. Can't wait to see more of them in part 2.

Herry Soempono Yeah....In the original. But FFVII The Remake is something new in itself. That’s why I wish they’d put it out for Xbox One sooner than 2021. I want to see all of the changes made to the FF timeline, and how that could impact future games. But so far I’m excited to see where they go with it
Herry Soempono while it’s true that cloud adopted zack’s memories and this formed an alter ego out of them, but cloud’s feelings for her are completely his own. maybe zacks memories have an influence on him, but i’m pretty sure he’s got some deep feelings for her that he created within himself, same goes for how he feels about tifa.

That flower scene at 16:01 is really cute and at the end when Cloud tells the flowers "Learn to talk to her" is nice since he realizes how she's so sweet. Just wish Cloud acted more like this later in the game.

Oh she's not letting Cloud back into his comfort zone. And it's nice to see Cloud having bits of character growth through this. He's just too sweet when it comes to Aerith.

Cloud softens so much when he meets Aerith. You see it in his eyes and he's much more willing to play (the high fives) and asks her to tell him anyway her thoughts with the speaking to flowers scene. He's always so dismissive of the other characters feelings etc. before meeting her. Plus he worries about her, a lot. I love them!
Ya gotta say, they absolutely nailed Cloud's facial expressions in this remake. So many emotions, especially when he's speaking to Aerith.
... definitely don't want to see what they can do with those awesome facial expressions should a certain something happen that made Cloud very emotional in the original. That'd probs break my heart anew 50 times over.

I have a huge feeling they'll change things this time. I love the OG storyline but I wouldn't mind change. That is, keeping in mind how much I love Aerith lol.
If that's the case I wouldn't as much compare it to the OG Storyline since it's a new different story on its own and I'm loving it so far.

i love how they parallel each other like when cloud tells aerith that she should stay away from him because he’s ‘involved in things’ but then in aerith’s resolution scene, she tells cloud not to fall in love with her to keep him from hurting himself if he cares too much for aerith. i swear to god if square enix doesn’t give them a chance to have a happy ending this time i’d absolutely go bonkers.

I used to be a huge Tifa and Cloud fan as a child, but growing up and playing this remake I've realized how much more genuine Cloud and Aerith seem. I truly think they're meant to be. She brings out the best in Cloud imo!
This kind of situation is really realistic and definitely something that happens in real life.
When Cloud puts up this fake persona and forgets a part of himself, Aerith brings him out of that cage.
But the time before Cloud witnessed Zack’s death, before all that happened and *before his encounters with Aerith*, hes in love with Tifa.
When he met Aerith, he fell hard for her because she understood him, like what you said, genuinely. “She denied all his attempts of pushing her away-all with a friendly smile.”
This doesn’t mean he fell out of love with Tifa but more like he loved both, but perhaps had more feelings for the other at the same time in Midgard.
When Aerith died, Tifa brought him back to life and he regained his consciousness as the real him, Cloud.
I’m team #clerith and my fave character is Aerith (I relate to her more, she’s someone I think can heal anyone, really) but I love Tifa so much.. they’re both so badass and Tifa, she’s “strong, aggressive but kind and caring” at the same time.

Also Aerith had a monologue realizing how Cloud is a different person on his own and that she loved Cloud much more than Zack. Not in the remake though.

@@lilysann4012 Yes, the thing about the night scene where Cloud will either see Tifa, Aerith or Barrett outside Aerith's house? Not one is more true than the other. I think SE made these three scenes because the three of them actually portrayed Cloud's feelings for them. Tifa is special for Cloud, while he is also falling in love with Aerith and he also somehow considers Barrett as his close friends now. That is truth of what Cloud feels for them. All three of the scenes are real.
This remake is the perfect chance to give both of them the happy ending they always deserved, originally Aerith dies and Cloud goes on "howling and hollow" so to speak, but this time I think they should let her live and marry Cloud, they can have Cetra kids and the planet (a barren lands since the ancients were killed) will be a green land once again where Cetras and humans can live together, I think that would be a fitting finale since Cloud's "promised land" is obviously wherever Aerith is so it would also mean at that point Cloud will have finally found what he's been looking for for the past 23 years: a peace of mind and as I said before the promised land, a place which feels like home where he can finally live a happy life with the girl he loves: Aerith. Elmyra is also gonna be happy because her daughter's alive and she's gonna have grandkids.
I can already imagine Cloud with Aerith by his side in a garden full of flowers where their kids are running around as he says: I found it, my Promised Land...

Jesus Christ, I have no idea what sort of black magic the developers of this game did to really portray the emotional feeling of people in their eyes....Just seeing erith say "are you okay?" Or "I'm not tired of you yet" absolutely pulls on my heartstrings for some goddamn reason.
The expressions and gestures in the game were very well done. Seems like a minor thing, but the body language adds a great amount of depth to the story. My favorite use of it was when Aerith hesitated saying Zack in the playground.

Aerith is initially attracted to Cloud because of the mannerisms of Zack that Cloud took on. Thus why she gives him the flower.
But, Aerith does indeed love Cloud for Cloud. Here is a quote from her:
"At first when I met Cloud, I believed he was similar to Zack. Little actions, the way he spoke… his kindness. But Cloud is Cloud. I, now undoubtedly, love Cloud much more than Zack.” -Aerith’s monologue in Gongaga; Final Fantasy VII Dismantled; Square Enix
Cloud does have some of Zack's "memories", as in, stories Zack told him. Or, during incidents in which both Zack and Cloud were present, Cloud put himself in Zack's place. Cloud's memories got confused basically.

This is also shown by the fact that he clearly does not have any recognition of Aerith. And Cloud has Zack's persona-not personality. The definition of a persona from the Oxford English Dictionary is: "The aspect of someone's character that is presented to or perceived by others.

Cloud took on his interpretation of Zack, his persona, not his personality itself. Which also explains why Cloud does not act like Zack. Zack is an outgoing and talkative guy. Cloud looked up to Zack as a soldier, and took on that persona.
Cloud builds up what he believes to be the perfect solider, an idealized version of himself, a new personality.
But Cloud is still in there behind this perfect soldier personality he built up. Cloud did not take in Zack's feelings, and Zack is not a ghost possessing Cloud.

That’s right, I believe Cloud doesn’t even know a guy named Zack existed whilst traveling in Midgard, after the attack. Totally bizarre considering that Zack was his best friend, but I think Cloud just completely wiped out any memories of Zack.
It’s like where he is, there’s a blank space or wall. Cloud adopted his persona, a “lone wolf” and a first-class SOLDIER but definitely did not have his personality.
It’s what Cloud did in a split second after seeing someone close to him pass away, just stealing their status 😂 and trying to live their life as if it could still be continued. Trying to live on the memories of the deceased but stealing himself of who Cloud is in the process.
If that makes sense.. poor guy he’s been through a lot. But good for him he’s got people by his side that love and support him throughout this entire journey.

Love the way she has instant control over a badass like Barrett from the moment they finally come into contact.. She has control over his ass straight away. Whenever Aerith gives the order to him he just does as he's told straight away and not many people could have that power over Barrett.. probably Marlene and Aerith are the only two that can soften him up.

@@justashumaiko5818 not even that. There was some qualities she dislike in zack. Also reason why Aerith love Cloud was suposed to be they are oposite in personalities. Basicaly he had all good qualities of zack (strong, courage) and none of qualities she dislike in zack (zack was womanazer and didnt want to settle for serious relashionship), Cloud was reliable introvert (like her own father).
Actually Zack and Aerith spent more time together. In CC they knew each other for 2 years and only had 1 dated. The whole game was supose to show Zack choose persuing his dreams instead of building relashionship. 2 years and she never trully know him. Thats why she even write in letter "I wish I knew you", which meant all this 2 years she try to build relashionshi nut he apered and disapered. Thats why she didnt even surprised he disapear for 4 years, she thought he lost interes.
Thats whole drama and tragady for Zack .Elmyra even mention it "You boys choose power instead of normal life, you cant have it both". he all his life fight for false ideals, and persuing wrong dreams.

In OG game he wasnt in Aerith that much.Aerith for him was like Jessie for Cloud just nice beautiful girl. He was that type of guy that dont want serious relashionship at all while he is young and like to be with male friends more.
In OG game Aerith was into him becasue she find him phisiscal atractive like all girls but always didnt like his personality at all but hope maybe he would "change with time". Than her patience just eneded.
It doesnt made Zack bad friend though it just show how they change both Zack and Aerith in CC. I cant consider it fully canon.
They change how they met:in OG she sell flowers in that park, thats how they met.
Her ribbon was from her her mother but they change it it was from hin in CC .
They even change whole Aerith personality in OG she is even more extravert than Zack. In CC she somehow shy introvert girl.(Like how is this even work CC Aerith didt feel like Aerith at all,more like Tifa personality).

So he was loyal friend but really bad lover.)

I was mention about scene in truck you copuld rewatch her called Zack OG death scene.He tell CLoud he had girlfriend in Midgar (he emant aerith) but he dont like her mother so he wouldnt go there.
It is not disrespsctfull to his character describe him like he was intendent.
Even in CC how he could consider her his real love if he didnt know her. Nor did she trully know him.
Also about Canonicity Aerith is extravert in childhood thant in CC she turn in introvert than she againg turn in extravert.That is bad writing and that is real disrespect to character. Because it looked like Aerith has personality dissorder.
But it could be explain simpler. They need to show romance in CC so they have to change personality of Aerith and even steel how they met from Cloud scene.(faling from ruff top). And other things. You cant make prequal that condradict original game too much.
They evenhave to change Aerith personality because to play oposite atract scenarion.In other FF games you could see Lovers had oposite personlities. Squal introvert, Rinoa extravert. Zidane extravert Garnet introvert.
In OG CLOud was introvert and Aerith was extravert. Thats why she like his personality because his personality remind of her father(who was introverted professor).

She find another guy the friend of her so called love, and their "frienship" somehow looked even more stronger than so called love. They travel together fight together, so she basicaly tell him didnt even like Zack so much. They so caled friend have spiritual conection talk with each other in dreams.He cared about her so much that already forget about his childhood crush. Than she dies. And so called friend was more devasted than when hois whole town burned.
In the end Their "frienship" was so great that shi literally come to see him from grave. And he literally mourn her so much that want die to be with her.But thats definition of friendship somehow.Because when she died she reunited with her true love... she had one date only and never even mourn.

Whole FF7 was always about Cloudvs Sephirote to revenge his dead love. If you cut it out 70% of FF7 would have not have any logical construct.

Have you realised that there are more words being said to Aerith by Cloud than to Tifa ? Cloud asks Aerith something even without thinking whereas while talking to Tifa , he basically replies to her in most cases instead of asking her something .

Their moments are really sweet! Even the music playing so cheerful as if it's representing their feelings is so lovely. It's apparently different to the other parts of the entire game and I love it! I hope they will be together this time. There was a popularity poll of whole FF series in Japan（468,654 votes total）this Feb and the first place was cloud and the third was aerith. That's great too. The second place was Yuna btw.

Idk if it's just a generic declaration- but Sephiroth saying "You're too weak to save anyone- not even yourself" is almost exactly the same as Heldalf's words to Sorey in the final battle in Tales of Zestiria (2015). If this remake retained the original dialogue- then I guess Tales did take that line from Sephiroth. ~~

Zack is a side character who was never all that important in the original game. He's not supposed to be the center of FFVII's universe like some of you like to think. Screw him. Sorry, Zack. Cloud and Aerith are our two central characters and they belong together.

...firstly, Aerith said it because she's probably from the future...and already knows how she and Cloud fell in love then were torn apart. She even tries to warn him against falling for her later on. Cloud and Aerith's story, from way back in '97, has always been advertised as a story of a love that could never be...a saying that is used for lovers who get torn apart. Secondly, it makes PERFECT sense that decades later in the Remake, they(the two lovers) are reunited again.

He did love both. But leaning more towards Aerith in this timeline. In Advent Children he still had a hard time moving on. But in the end he accepted that Aerith's gone and he's forgiven himself. Opening his heart to Tifa.
@@yeetusdeletus3072 He forgave himself yes but remember that she is still his promised land so they will meet each other eventually and no Cloud did not open his heart to Tifa but he opened his heart to the family but of course with Tifa being alive there is possiblity that they might get together but I just really doubt this will happen though because Cloud hasn't viewed her more than a friend and Tifa acting all motherly towards him won't help this either
BESIDES this is another timeline which has broken the Original one so AC has pretty much been retcon hasn't it?
@@pix00l yeah what I meant by that is now his heart is open. And his very first love interest by that time of course is Tifa. Even in OG ff7 his drive to become a soldier was to impress and be noticed by Tifa. It was obvious he did like Tifa.
And Tifa by the time in AC fell into the category Claudia told Cloud. Someone who can keep him in check if he's being goofy or something like that. Anyways. I'm excited how disc 2 will turn out. I personally like Aerith more than Tifa, I like them both though so I guess I can't blame Cloud for hitting on them both lol.
Yah AC is pretty far fetched now with the pieces set in place by OG ff7 a bit of CC and now the Remake. Depends still.

Cloud doesn't have Zack's memories. His memories are his own, and what he knows about Zack's past as a SOLDIER is because he was actually there with Zack when certain events happened to them, and he's also recalling the little things Zack told him. That was explained in the original game. If he had Zack's memories, he would think his name was Zack, that Zack's parents were his parents, and he would have known Aerith when they first met. Cloud and Aerith were strangers to each other from the start. That also means that Cloud's feelings for Aerith are his own. They met, they spent time together, they clicked really well, they built up a bond together, and they started to grow fond of/fell for each other. They became a part of each other's world. It's not that hard to understand.
Aerith warns Cloud not to fall in love with her because she already knows her fate, that she will eventually die. That was confirmed by the creators. And already knowing that, she tries to protect Cloud from future pain by saying to him that his love for her isn't real. She's basically trying to make him change his mind...to which he basically says: "The hell with this. Don't tell me how to feel. I'll love you if I want to"
Cloud getting those piercing headaches when he's in the church slums. It was memories of Zack when he fell the same way he did. Also the ribbon! It was a gift from Zack. These easter eggs are painful.
And also did you notice what Aerith says at 5:36? "One date ought to do it." lool
But Cloud gets a headache in the Church because he sees a vision of Aerith's death, not because of Zack.
I'm not sure if I'd call that an easter egg. That's legit what happened in the original as well when Crisis Core didn't even exist yet.
And the headaches are a Remake thing and seem to be connected to the ending of it.
In CC, they tried to add Jack on many thing in the original, even the name of the 7th bar.
Kinda agree with that the headaches aren't exactly easter eggs. Cloud did inherit some of Zack's memories, but only the things he knew about Zack or saw with his own eyes (like the Nibelheim Incident or Zack being a SOLDIER 1st Class). He didn't know about his relationship with Aerith, that's why he didn't recognize her.

The thing is even though Cloud is attracted towards Aerith she doesn't feel the same way about Cloud being that she's still in love with her boyfriend Zack.
The only two potential romantic interests with Cloud is Tifa and from what I seen from the end of the game Jessie who might be alive. What happened to Cloud he fell in love with Aerith and after she died he felt guilt for her dying and still had feelings for her. But what if she doesn't die in the Remake? My guess Cloud will likely hook up with Tifa or Jessie or some other women. Besides if the Whisperers disappearance resulted in Zack still being alive that would be a problem because he's Aerith's boyfriend.
I know Cloud's mother wanted him to hook up with an older woman which Aerith would be the one but children don't always do what their parents expect from them.
Aerith loved Cloud much more than she ever loved Zack. There are many official sources to prove this. In the beggining he reminded her of Zack but as the story goes on she felt hard for him. Both Aerith and Tifa are in love with Cloud, that's why it's called a love triangle. It's up to the player to deside which one Cloud is in love. Well for me it's 100% obvious he's in love with Aerith but everyone can have their own opinion.

his mind in AC is only in Aeris. Tifa is too random and i dont even have to mention the ordinary jessie.
Cloud loved Aerith and Tifa. But he was more comfortable and himself with Aerith. When Aerith died in the OG Cloud was so devastated that even after 2 years in Advent Children he could not forgive himself. That mind and heart breaking event haunted him and it's not very easy to open your heart for someone again after that. Hence why Tifa still wasn't his GF at this point. In the end of AC they did resolve this, Cloud moved on and forgave himself. This allows his heart to open up and see Tifa once again as a love interest.
And Aerith did love Cloud as he is. Not just as a living apparition of Zack. 😊
Here in the remake though we can't say for sure. Especially that this time Aerith may actually survive. Many things will change if so. It's a story on its own and not very comparable to the OG if it's the case.
