Battled addiction for 20 years before realizing all i need from life to be happy is riding bikes and watching the sunset. Such simple things that bring such freedom. Thank You Raemers Foundation for spreading good vibes and love.
Me too dude, Xanax and alcohol ruined my life, lost everything I had going for me skating. got arrested, was homeless. I’m 150 days sober now and picked up rock climbing and am back to skating everyday, and am better than I used to be now, Finally I wake up again excited for the day. Never thought I would make it out of that funk I was in!
Louie, you’re going to make me cry damnit. You are being the best version of yourself and being that rock for everyone around you. Please don’t forget to reverse your Hero role anytime you need help. Louie is an American Treasure.
I’ve met him before he was at a signing, he was super busy with all the fans but he took his time to talk to me. This guy needs to win SOTY and a noble prize What a great example for the new generation
As society continuously becomes a more solitary and digital existence its more important than ever to check in on people and make sure your friends, family and loved ones are doing alright. I skateboarded most of my life then got into IV drugs and then like anyone else you stop skateboarding and do only drugs. After 5 tries in rehab it finally stuck and I have 12 years sober. There is a negative connotation associated with getting mental help where people think its "weak". Go get help people staying alive is never "weak", its "smart". You owe it to yourself and your family. Great channel and great message! Subscribed! 😎🙏
As a psychiatric occupational therapist/skater, what you're mentioning with routines and structure really hits home on a professional and personal level for me. What you're doing in the foundation is immense. Love to hear fellow skaters put to words what we all deal with at some point. That feeling of being seen and understood is priceless. Thank you for participating Louie.
Sorry for your loss, Louie 😢 a heartbreaking part of individuals who are suicidal is they often will not give anyone the opportunity to try and help. RIP Ben
I got to judge Louie in CASL competitions when he was a little guy and knew he was super special, and then was I lucky enough to skate with Mark Suciu when he was like 13. I instantly knew these two would be something one day if they kept skating...pure prodigies.
I never followed this guy when he was young. But in the past couple of years I’ve been seeing more of his footage and personal life. He seems so down to earth. I like him and his vibe.
Can relate to this. I stopped drinking alcohol a few months ago and also started riding my bike a lot more since I have a lot more energy. If you've been thinking about taking a break, just go for it to feel what it's like. It can be hard to break the cycle at first, but you won't regret it. Life's soo much more chill.
I would feel jealous of my friends that didn't drink, as if it wasn't an option for me. I finally decided to take a month off of drinking to "reset," and here I am coming up on 3 years sober. Waking up on the weekend with no hangover and a full day ahead of me was a crazy feeling. Easily the best decision I've made in my adult life. Also - that feeling of freedom and exercise you get with a gravel bike is insane. Highly recommend both.
Louie and t puds are my two favorite skaters. Louie seems like he can do anything. Switch, fakie, nollie, shuv tricks, kick ins and outs, cab tricks, tranny, crazy wallride tricks, etc. And hes unique and creative
Salute to Ben and Louie. Get trained up, and don't hesitate to have the conversations...no matter how hard or awkward it might feel at first. Make time. 🤘
The peoples Champ…Louie Lopez. Always crushing it and with a smile on his face. Blessings and Respect
