    Really useful, and puts ease of mind. Thank you. I'm 58 on SDI and was wondering what will happen when I turn 62 which is... nothing (but continue to suffer occasional CDRs until I turn 67). This is so great to know that I'm already receiving my full retirement amount! I suppose my worry was that my retirement would be LESS because I have not worked since 2015 and that I'd age out of disability and get a radically smaller retirement check. So yay, thank you!

      I often worried about that also.
      There is a lot of misinformation floating about.

    So short story around January I came down sick for 3 weeks I had all kinds of symptoms like fever, migraines, sweating profusely, couldn't eat, chest pains, shortness of breath, me eye sight was going dark every time I would stand up, dizziness, and gasping for air every time I stand. These was all the things I was experiencing mostly towards the last week and around the last 2 days it got life threatening. So my mother called the ambulance and I got carried to the hospital and they found out I had a blood clot in my left lung it passed through my heart and the doctor told me I almost died that day. He said if I would have wanted any longer I would have died. So after surgery for that blood clot (longer story short) I got compartment syndrome in my left forearm down to my hand from malpractice. Pretty much the nurses was constantly taking blood from my left wrist every 2 to 3 hours the first week and an half week I was at the hospital. And they kept a blood pressure pad wrapped around my left arm 24 hours a day and every hour the machine would take my blood pressure. So the combination of them taking my blood every 2 to 3 hours and keeping a blood pressure pad wrapped around the same forearm caused the acute compartment syndrome which required emergency surgery which means I had to undergo another emergency surgery. I was hospitalized for 3 weeks total and have not been able to work for 6 mouths now. I have been going to hand therapy and have not been able to take anything for the pain because I'm on blood thinners because of the blood clot I had. so by this short description do you think I will be approved for disability. I have already started the process back in February when I was still hospitalized. They helped me apply. Right they are processing my medical portion. Sorry for the long message I tried to keep it short.

      I would recommend not cash, you may have to evict or tenant may file a police report over something you do not want federal government paper trail and if you don't report it, just keep it in the earnings guidelines and you will beable to help financially and no penalties or red flags that you would lose your benefits

      Brian Therrian, Please clarify this issue with renting out a room. How is this any different than having passive income from a rental property (which is allowed)? (I am talking about SSDI not SSI)

    Question: once you are on full retirement age, and "lose" your disability status, how do you prove you're disabled for other benefits? Most benefits are granted due to being on SSDI.

      @@TheDisabilityDigest Due to SS disability status we get help with copays, LIS, utilities, food, phone, etc. The only way to prove true "disability" is by being awarded SS Disability. So how can we qualify for help without SSDI?

    • @shihtzuluvrtwo6386
      @shihtzuluvrtwo6386 Год назад +3

      @@TheDisabilityDigest I think you didn't understand her question. When the SSA kicks you off SSDI at 67, they no longer consider you disabled. How would someone prove their Disability to get a break on their Property Tax? There are States who allow these exemptions. A persons health issue is still there, meaning it is still a disability.

    What if you’re on SSDI since age 58 and then a review is done at age 63 and your SSDI is discontinued, could you apply for regular early retirement SS benefits and if you did would it be a different monthly amount than your SSDI benefits?
    PS- I was told that after age 58 reviews are less likely to be done- is that true ?

    Hello, clarification needed. Question, if your receive SSDI at 63, it turns to SS retirement at 65 (actual FRA 66 years 10 months?) When they say at FRA no limit on earnings, does that actually mean the month you turn 66 or month you will have your FRA (66 yrs 10 months)?
