Ryan is a smart player. He's 32 now so he won't be jumping routes or trying to make flashy plays but he has great football instincts and should play smart while he's out there. He can play most DB positions so they can move him around as a slot CB outside CB or FS. It's a good, smart pickup for the Niners.

Logan has came a long way in terms of man coverage. I still think he's better off in the slot because of his special ability to jump on passes over the middle. Even though Cyrus Jones is smaller, he has great anticipation and makes more effort than Ryan to get his head turned around. And even with the height disadvantage, he's a scrappy, physical player on the outside. I'll be surprised at some point if Jones doesn't line up on the outside with number 2 WRs. Even though Logan has showed promise, I don't know why I feel like his time is running out
He proved he can play against bigger receivers I mean he shut down Deandre Hopkins and Demaryius Thomas
Jacob Tube Demaryius Thomas had an off year. Lol not to mention he had Peyton and Brock throwing him the ball. And Hopkins isn't big, he's 6'1 with great leaping ability. More importantly, you just named 2 guys that didn't have a legit QB like Big Ben, Rodgers, Brees, Palmer, Luck throwing to them
He wasn't forced to deal with the number 1 WRs for majority of game. That was Butler. And one thing that help Ryan was the pass rush. Number 2 in sacks last year and that cut down the number of deep plays he had to defend. I don't expect the Pats D line to dip in pressure, but if it does, Logan will have to actually prove he can play on the outside. He struggled against big WRs in jumpball situations against guys like DGB.
The Uncle Drew Well now that Eric Rowe is playing. Ryan can play more in the slot.
SO underrated because of Malcolm Butler being so great. In my opinion,
him and Butler form one of the best cornerback tandems in the league
(being able to shut down Arizona and Houston, not to mention countless
other great WR corps). Their secondary is going to be sick this year.
One hell of a highlight vid, you would think Logan Ryan is one of the best CBs in the league after watchin this.

I was a Logan Ryan critic throughout 2014 but he had a solid year in 2015. Hopefully he continues to develop and hopefully we resign him. With another good year he might be a little difficult to hang on to (assuming we lockup Butler).
